The Black Skimmer mating season is in full swing.

The animals on the beach don't need your garbage and neither do the people.

Beach nesting season has begun, and the Black Skimmers need your help.

You don't usually see this on a Gulf beach, but a mother is taking her ducklings for a walk.

It's mating season and I spent the evening with the Black Skimmers.

I noticed this sick baby Brown Pelican the other day and called for help. I then recorded the poor young creature until help arrived. In the video its mother tried to feed it, but the baby spit the fish out as the rescuer arrived. I checked on it 2 days later and it has a vitamin deficiency. Although it is doing better and eating, it is still having trouble standing. It is expected to fully recover.

Black Skimmers fly out over the Gulf at Sunset. Some return to the beach and others stay out to feed.

Beach nesting season has begun and the number of Black Skimmers on our local beach is growing every day.

It's nesting season at the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary and a baby Great Egret gets fed, drops its fish and a sibling grabs it.

Beach mating season has begun, and the Black Skimmers are returning to their annual nesting locations.

It's a windy night and the Royal Terns line the beach.

A very young Great Egret survived after either being forced out of its nest or somehow ended up in another Great Egrets territory. One adult Great Egret attacked it forcing it down from the treetops. Then a Black-crowned Night Heron attacked as it fell to the top of a cage. Finally, another adult Great Egret started attacking it after it hit the ground. Luckily for the little guy, there were quite a few people around that I believe kept back the last 2 attackers until a rescuer arrived. Happy Ending.

It's nesting season and it's a good time to visit the Seaside Seabird Sanctuary. Today we got to see a baby Black Vulture, a baby Brown Pelican, and baby Great Egrets.
