Eternal Skeptic and a Fool
On the way to a kids Christmas program this morning we were listening to a guy speaking on the radio. He brought up the idea of being an eternal skeptic and a fool. It really resonated with me.
This about this for a minute. Going through life without actually taking a stand on what you think or believe about anything, but always having opinions and speaking out.
When we gush discontent without actually standing for anything we are walking through life like a giant noise maker and a fool. Not to be confused with having opinions and keeping our mouth closed.

Living In PRE Dark Ages
There is no doubt that there is a thread between our current way if life and the age before a dark age. The way we record and store our lives.
Have you ever thought about the amounts of our lives that we save online? Pictures of family vacations. Important documents ans contracts. Journals.
What happens if someone simply pulls the plug of the server where your life is stored. What happens to your memories. Will it be like you are getting erased?
Maybe this thought will remind us to live our lives and not get caught up storing it all online.

A Positive Covid Identity
There is something I have noticed with many of my posts lately. The ones that can be perceived as negative seem to get the most attention. The ones that gush about love and positivity don't seem to do as well. I saw this again yesterday when I made an uplifting and informational post about covid.
The post was sharing a few charts that were made by my family doctor. It was information about the fatality rates over the past five years for over 55 years old.
The charts included many different illnesses and codes for cause of death, including U07.1, which is a CDC code for a "probable" or "presumed" covid death. Meaning that someone doesn't have to test positive to be labeled as a covid death.
Anyway, the charts show that covid has not really impacted the overall fatality rates. I have been sharing the positive information, but it seems to fall on deaf ears. I have a theory though....people are forming a positive covid identity. Meaning that they are finding their identity in their situation that was initially caused by covid.

Picking Up The Pieces
I believe that we may have reached point in society that the ideas around covid and the elections have been established in each persons mind.
The question of whether information is credible or not is off the table. People seem to be digging their heels in. So what now.
I am of the belief that there is still a large negative fall out to come, on our wa6 to something better. Unfortunately, there will be many people that are effected. So we should be prepared.
I believe in a hard body, soft heart, and sharp mind. Capable of taking care of those that no longer can. An ability to feel compassion and empathy. An ability to discern information.
Simple right? Well...maybe.

Incoming PTSD
Whether we agree with each other about what is actually happening regarding covid isn't important. How we care for each other is.
After having several chats with friends that are either doctors or nurses, there is one thing that is very clear....there is trauma.
Like human soldiers on the battle field, the medical profession seems to be in their own battle. The lack of staffing and added compliance measures...not to mention the deaths they see daily. There will be long term trauma.

Free Speech, you heard of it?
Today was a pretty intense day with alot of reading. I have been preparing the Terms of Service for our project Inner Blocks. As I was sorting through all of the different examples I was reading, I couldn't help but think about the limitations on speech.
I personally believe in free speech. There is a difference between words and actions and even calls to action.
In the U.S., speech is protected as documented in the Constitution. There are not even defined classes of speech. Just words.
This is an inalienable right and I think it is beautiful. Like I said, there is a clear difference between words and actions. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me". Atleast that is how I grew up.
