Mars Anomalies in 4K | Hidden Facts
From Martian crabs to strange lights. From Bigfoot sightings to complex patterns, in this video we're going to bring you the very best of Martian anomalies. This is our biggest and most anticipated video ever, so let's get right into it.
One of the most famous Martian anomalies is the face on Mars. Captured in 1976 by NASA's Viking-1 orbiter, it provided decades of suspense and wild theories before more detailed images could be taken to put the matter to bed in 2001.
So why do we clearly see a face in the 1976 image? This is down to a phenomenon called pareidolia, where humans are biologically programmed to look for patterns in random data.
It's the reason we see faces in clouds and was a useful thing for our ancestors to survive in the wild.
In 2017, Curiosity snapped a picture, which some have pointed out contains what looks like a cannonball. Again, pareidolia is likely at play.
This so-called cannonball is only a quarter inch, or 5 millimetres in size. It is actually a pebble made from hematite, a substance commonly found on Mars. What is interesting however, is that the presence of hematite signals an abundance of water in the ancient past.

Man Jumped From Space | World Record Supersonic Freefall
What does it *really* feel like to jump from space? In 2012 Felix Baumgartner took a helium balloon into the stratosphere and skydived back to earth in a specially made space suit. Whilst in freefall he broke the speed of sound and entered a spin which threatened the entire Red Bull Stratos mission... Felix reflects on his achievement and shares what it really felt like to jump from the edge of space.

10 Years On Mars : Curiosity Finds Plastic Debris | Episode 1
10 Years On Mars is our new series documenting the Curiosity Rover's full 10 years on the Martian surface. In this episode, the rover almost lost permanent contact with NASA due to a memory issue with computer side A. Although the video is presented in the present tense to give you a feeling of following along with the rover, Curiosity has been using computer side B ever since this incident.

Mars in 4K : Life on Mars
A world first. New footage from Mars rendered in stunning 4K
resolution. We also talk about the cameras on board the Martian rovers and how we made the video.
The cameras on board the rovers were the height of technology when the respective missions launched.
A question often asked is:
'Why don't we actually have live video from Mars?'
Although the cameras are high quality, the rate at which the rovers can send data back to earth is the biggest challenge.
Curiosity can only send data directly back to earth at 32 kilobits per second.
Instead, when the rover can connect to the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, we get more favourable speeds of 2
Megabytes per second.
However, this link is only available for about 8 minutes each Sol, or Martian day.
As you would expect, sending HD video at these speeds would take a long long time. As nothing really moves on Mars, it makes more sense to take and send back images.

Chasing Sprites in Electric Skies
Paul Smith is a night-sky fanatic and photographer. His obsession is sprites: immense jolts of light that flicker high above thunderstorms. Last October, he guided NASA scientist Dr. Burcu Kosar through the backroads of Oklahoma to catch one herself. Although she'd studied sprites for more than 15 years, she hadn't yet chased one.

Alien Artifacts on Mars: What NASA doesn't want you to know
Uncovering the Martian Mysteries: What NASA doesn't want you to know
On July 25th, a NASA scientist was studying images of a region of Mars called "Cydonia" when something caught his
eye.
He had to take a second to process what he was seeing. He grabbed a magnifying glass.
There was no doubt. On the surface of Mars, 140 million miles from Earth, was a structure in the shape of a human face.
It was huge; about a mile wide; and showed two eyes, a nose, and a mouth. Around the Face were pyramids and structures that didn't look natural. They look like they were built... by someone.
The following day, NASA held a press conference. Of the thousands of photos sent back from Mars, all anyone asked about was The Face.
Who built it and why? Is it a message from an advanced civilization now long extinct? Is it a religious artifact? Is it solid like the Great Sphinx? Or could it contain chambers like the Great Pyramid?
Then NASA threw cold water on the speculation. They said there was a second photograph of the area taken shortly after.

Scariest Things Said By NASA Astronauts
Astronauts are supposed to be by themselves in space, which is a frightening, overwhelming place. Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that the likelihood of them encountering someone or something is unexpectedly low. But when they do, how are they supposed to respond?
When you see something in space, it's probably not what you expected to see because you never expect it there. What else should you anticipate when you leave your neighborhood and travel outside of your comfort zone?

Expedition 69 Astronaut Frank Rubio Talks with ABC's Good Morning America
Aboard the International Space Station, Expedition 69 Flight Engineer Frank Rubio of NASA discussed life and work aboard the orbital outpost during an in-flight interview August 11 with ABC's "Good Morning America". Rubio is in the midst of a record breaking long-duration mission living and working aboard the microgravity laboratory to advance scientific knowledge and demonstrate new technologies for future human and robotic exploration missions. Such research benefits people on Earth and lays the groundwork for future human exploration through the agency's Artemis missions, which will send astronauts to the Moon to prepare for future expeditions to Mars. When Rubio returns to Earth on September 27 he will have spent a total of 371 days in space-the longest single spaceflight by a US astronaut.

Astronauts accidentally lose a shield in space (GoPro 8K)
it is a fragment of the space walk (EVA #38) made in 2017 by NASA astronaut, Peggy Whitson and NASA astronaut, Shane Kimbrough outside the International Space Station. The interesting thing about this spacewalk is that Peggy Whitson accidentally dropped an anti-debris shield that turned into space debris (oh, the irony) all of this was documented by the GoPro action camera that Whitson carried.
