The Basics (Part 4)
The Basics (Part 4) continues in a series taken from Hebrews 6:1-2, which lists some basic elements of the Doctrine of Christ. This is a continuation of basic #2: Faith Toward God.
We’ve already established that our righteousness is based on faith in Jesus Christ alone. Does that mean there are no works involved? No, on the contrary. They are called works of faith. As we entered into God’s grace through faith, works became part of our new nature. They are the result of faith. What are works of faith?

The Basics (Part 3)
The Basics Part 3 transitions into basic # 2: Faith Toward God, which is part of the basic elements of the Doctrine of Christ.
As we shift into faith toward God, there’s one more area to cover in relation to repentance from dead works, which will make for a great transition. In part one, we discovered dead works are anything not of faith, or outside of Jesus. Some could be considered religious acts rooted in self-righteousness and hypocrisy. Much of it leans toward unbelief.
Okay, here is one part to really consider as we begin to focus more on faith, because it can have an adverse effect on your walk. Be wary of trying to add things to the righteousness that is of faith. The religious dos and don’ts take away from the relational value of faith. In fact, it can move you into doubt and self-righteousness.
Moreover, don’t allow others to place you into bondage by projecting their idea of righteousness on you. This refers to those things not backed up by Scripture, and rooted in the traditions of men.

The Basics Part 2
Last blog, we looked at some definitions of repentance. One of which was a Hebrew word (Old Testament), SHUWB (Strong’s 7725), pronounced, shoob, which is a primary verb that means to turn back; hence, to turn away. It has other connotations outside the realm of repentance, but those won’t be addressed here. There is an important clarification that must be made concerning this word. One we don’t want to miss.
Previously, I mentioned the emphasis placed on the word in relation to national repentance. While it does often emphasize repentance on a national level, it in no way removes the individual application. In fact, it may actually reveal greater individual responsibility.
The first place we find repent in the Bible, actually speaks in relation to God (Genesis 6:6-7). However, it is the not same Hebrew word that we just covered. As we define this particular one, it will also help clarify what it means when the Bible talks of God repenting. Of course, He has never needed to repent of anything.
We'll also answer this question: Did Judas repent?

The Basics Part 1
If a disciple of Jesus Christ is going to weather any storm, he or she needs a firm foundation on which to stand. Without that foundation, there is no stability. It’s important to grow deep roots, and it all begins with the basics. Some might be surprised what the Bible calls elementary principles.
Without those fundamental principles, it can prove difficult to grasp weightier things of the Word. Some things people consider to be deep teachings, actually fall under the elementary category.

The Question, Why?
Often people ask God, why? Sometimes it's out of anger, fear or desperation. Other times it's a plea for clarity. We're not going to address the ins and out of the question. In this episode, we reverse the question. Instead of asking God, we turn it to the believer. This could be rough for some, but there's no judgment or condemnation involved here. Just looking for clarity in our walk with Him.

With Whom Do You Agree?
What do you think: is it time believers get crystal clear about whether they believe the Word of God? Why the question? Because many say they believe the Bible and the proceeding Word, but their confession doesn’t seem to match. What they do and say often contradict His Word. This more than the occasional hypocritical moment. Why do you suppose that is?

What Does 2 Chronicles 7:14 Mean? (If My People . . .)
2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
How often have you seen this passage of Scripture appear on billboards, banners and lawn signs when there is some sort of national emergency? Perhaps, you’ve quoted it yourself. Why do people post and quote it? What is their commitment level? Are they seeking true repentance, or are they merely looking to be rescued?

Time For A Heart Check (Part Two)
Most everyone has a sense of justice. How many love to see the bad guy in a movie get his just deserts? We love to see injustice undone, but there is something of which to be weary when it comes to judgment: rejoicing when others fall or at the thought of their judgment. Jesus said to rejoice because our names are written in the Book of Life. If we didn’t receive forgiveness of sins, they would not be written in that book. Have you considered the alternative? I mean really thought about it?
Why would anyone get happy at the thought of the wicked being judged and cast in the lake of fire in the end? “He’ll get his!” Sounds like judgment, or perhaps revenge is lurking in the heart. Does any of this match the heart of God?

How The Church Should Interact With Government (Lessons From Daniel) Part 2
This is part two of "Church and Government (Lessons From Daniel)." It starts out with a follow up on king Nebuchadnezzar in relation to something I left out in the previous episode, and then continues with more lessons from Daniel on interaction with government authority. We touch on the call to discipling nations, realms of influence, how faith and Holy Spirit are necessary for proper influence, the importance of no compromise and how patience plays a vital role. Enjoy!

How Should The Church Interact With Government (Lessons From Daniel)Part 1
Don't let the title fool you, there's nothing political about this video. It addresses how the Church should be interacting with those in authority. The Church has lost much influence in the world, and that includes the government. How did that happen? How should the Church interact with Government? Let's see what we can learn from the prophet, Daniel.
