This is a song that focuses on the before and after of a soul going through conversion. These feelings are a glimpse of some of the thought I had in this situation. Before going through a conversion and a turning to God so many feel life is so unfair to me. All my troubles, real or self imposed, are just all so unfair and there is such a feeling of helplessness. This is a song I am working on. The initial verse, which is now the second verse, is based on some imagery by St. Thérèse of Lisieux that I read about in "Fulfillment of All Desire", a book by Ralph Martin. She expressed an idea of being below Christ's cross with a chalice. Rather than letting any of His Precious Blood fall to the ground she imagined catching each drop in the chalice. This is a song I wrote for the celebration of Fr. Bill Kraus' 50th Anniversary of his ordination. Fr. Bill, O.F.M Capuchin, is director of the Catholic Center in Colorado Springs.
