Meet the Goddard Instrument Field Team
This video is an introduction into the world of the Goddard Instrument Field Team, known as GIFT. This team of scientists conducts fieldwork all over the world at sites that resemble the Moon, Mars, and other planetary surfaces. These scientists are responsible for developing and testing scientific instrumentation relevant to NASA's exploration goals, and for carrying out a wide variety of experiments.
This video has been edited from its original version for the purposes of the NASA VOYA contest.

Space Launch System Short Resource Reel April 2020
This video includes animation and shows work being completed to build, assemble and test NASA's new heavy-lift rocket, the Space Launch System (SLS) for the Artemis I mission to the Moon. SLS will be the most powerful rocket ever built, launching astronauts in NASA's Orion spacecraft on missions to the Moon, Mars and deep space. Two solid rocket boosters and four RS-25 engines will power the massive rocket, providing more than 8 million pounds of thrust. Production, outfitting testing are underway for the rocket's critical hardware. This video features the Artemis I core stage as it rolled out of NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility and was loaded into the B-2 test stand at Stennis Space Center where it is undergoing Green Run testing. Other major activities across NASA and contractor faciliites are also featured. For more information about SLS, visit nasa.gov/sls.

Santa Susana Field Laboratory
The Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) is located on 2,850 acres in the Simi Hills, nearly thirty miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, California, in southeastern Ventura County. NASA used the facility for rocket engine testing and those activities have since ceased. This video highlights NASA’s environmental cleanup activities at the site and NASA’s priority of protecting human health, safety, and the environment
Perseverance Rover’s Descent and Touchdown on Mars: Onboard Camera Views
NASA's Mars 2020 Perseverance mission captured thrilling footage of its rover landing in Mars' Jezero Crater on Feb. 18, 2021. The real footage in this video was captured by several cameras that are part of the rover's entry, descent, and landing suite. The views include a camera looking down from the spacecraft's descent stage (a kind of rocket-powered jet pack that helps fly the rover to its landing site), a camera on the rover looking up at the descent stage, a camera on the top of the aeroshell (a capsule protecting the rover) looking up at that parachute, and a camera on the bottom of the rover looking down at the Martian surface.
The audio embedded in the video comes from the mission control call-outs during entry, descent, and landing.

First Video of NASA’s Ingenuity Mars Helicopter in Flight, Including Takeoff and Landing (High-Res)
In this video captured by NASA’s Perseverance rover, the agency's Ingenuity Mars Helicopter took the first powered, controlled flight on another planet on April 19, 2021.
The rover was parked at “Van Zyl Overlook,” about 211 feet (64.3 meters) away in Mars' Jezero Crater and chronicled the flight operations with its cameras.
These images from the rover’s Mastcam-Z cameras show the helicopter hovering above the Red Planet's surface. During this first flight, the helicopter climbed to an altitude of 10 feet (3 meters), hovered, and then touched back down on the surface of Mars.
