Bach Spectacular- Camarata, Kingsway Symphony Orchestra (1972) [Complete LP]
One Of Our Deleted Albums Series - London Phase 4 Stereo
Salvador Camarata (1913-2005) and the Kingsway Symphony Orchestra released this album in 1972 on the London Phase 4 Stereo label, catalogue number SP 44079. It consists of various excerpts from compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750).
London's Phase 4 Stereo series were excellent technical recordings. As one example of their technical quality, they used 20 channel mixers at a time when the industry standard was 4 to 8 channels.
Unfortunately, the London Phase 4 Stereo recordings are deleted and out of print. But that makes them quite collectable so when I come across a second hand copy in good condition I buy it. I found this one recently in a local used record store.
Track List
1. Toccata And Fugue In D Minor 0:00
2. Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring 9:23
3. Ave Maria 12:57
4. Brandenburg Concerto No. 2, Allegro Assai 17:54
5. The Passion According To St. Matthew, No. 78 20:50
6. Air From Suite No. 3 In D Major 27:46
7. "Sleepers Awake", from Cantata No. 140 31:32
8. Magnificat, BVW 243, "Gloria Patri" No. 12 34:49

I have the original vinyl LP of this recording so I will make a digital recording of the vinyl in future and post it for comparison purposes.]

Offenbach - Gaite Parisienne - Charles Munch - New Philharmonia Orchestra (1966)
One Of Our Deleted Albums Series - London Phase 4 Stereo Series
This recording of Offenbach's Gaite Parisienne by Charles Munch conducting the New Philharmonia Orchestra was released in 1966 on London Records Phase 4 Stereo label, catalog number SPC-21011.
The audio on this was taken from a British pressing of the original vinyl LP.
Track List:
1. Ballet, Part 1 0:00
2. Ballet, Part 2 20:39
Phase 4 Stereo used 20 channel mixers at a time when 4,8 and 16 track mixers were the norm. The label released some excellent classical recordings with conductors ranging from the very well known, like Leopold Stokowski and Charles Munch, to less well known conductors like Robert Sharples, who appears on other Phase 4 recordings I have posted on this channel.

Phase 4 Stereo recordings have been deleted and, as far as I am aware, are not currently available commercially. I have never seen this recording of Offenbach's Gaite Parisienne released on CD.
I will put more London Phase 4 Stereo recordings on the channel as time permits.
