CPE Bach - Resurrection And Ascension Of Jesus
Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788) composed this oratorio based on a text by Karl Wilhelm Ramler on the subject of the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.
It was first performed in public circa 1778 and has been described by Oxford Music Online as "among the most important Protestant vocal works of the second half of the 18th century."
This recording was made on 23-26 June 2002 and released on Hyperion, catalogue number CDH55478.
