The French Connection | Amaretto & Cognac
Today we're going to make a little after dinner drink known as the french connection. This mixed drink is simple to make, and is on the IBA list of classic cocktails.
Bartender Starter Kit: https://awesomedrinks.com/products/home-bartender-starter-kit/
If cognac sipping is a bit much for you and you want to round out the flavor profile a bit, just cut it with sweeter product like disaronno amaretto, why not? It works well, it's not sticky sweet and the two flavors seem to compliment each other well.
The French Connection
- 1.5 oz Cognac
- 1 oz Amaretto

The Tipperary Cocktail Recipe | Classic Irish Whiskey Drink?
Today we're going to show you how to make the tipperary, a fantastic simple cocktail from the early 1900's, recipe: https://bit.ly/3xLgWDZ
Bartender Starter Kit: https://awesomedrinks.com/products/home-bartender-starter-kit/
The Tipperary is a cocktail first documented in 1916 that feels much like the manhattan variation known as the Greenpoint: https://youtu.be/hO_I4XjDe48
However, this version of the recipe brings in green chartreuse instead of Yellow Chartreuse and uses Irish Whiskey over Rye. Making the Tipperary an international manhattan variation. This is an International Bartender Association drink recipe ratio based off the original documented classic era recipe.
The Tipperary
* 1 1/2 oz Irish Whiskey
* 3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth
* 1/2 oz Green Chartreuse
* 1 Dashes Angostura Bitters

The Cadillac Margarita | Cinco de Mayo Recipe
Today we're going to show you how to make a cadillac margarita for Cinco De Mayo, which is quickly approaching. This is a very basic easy to make margarita recipe.

A margarita that doesn't have sugar, and uses Grand Marnier as the sweetening agent for this margarita variation. What makes it a "cadillac"? It's high class use of a top shelf orange liqueur (Grand Marnier) as well as the slightly more rested Reposado Tequila.
In general, one can see this as a more expensive margarita, but in actuality the big deal with the cadillac margarita is the tequila martini like nature of the drink: it's got no sugar and very few ingredients.
Due to the lack of sugar you may find this one a bit sour, but you'll probably get used to it. Unless you like sweeter drinks. This will definitely be heavier on the lime, spirit forward but still contains juice.
Dan does not find this as smooth of a ride for a cadillac compared to other margaritas.
Cadillac Margarita
* 1 1/2 oz Reposado Tequila
* 1 oz Grand Marnier (or Cognac Orange Liqueur)
* 3/4 oz Lime Juice

The Hurricane & Jamaican Rum | Tiki Month
Today we're going to show you two ways to make a Hurricane and we're going to give you a bit of information on Jamaican Rum.
Beachbum Berry's REMIXed cocktail book (affiliate link): https://amzn.to/2ytKWFl
BeachBum Berry's Sippin Safari (affiliate linke): https://amzn.to/3OSIJoY
Tiki Glasses: http://awesomedrinks.com
The Hurricane is a classic tiki design that goes back to Pat O'Brien's in the French Quarter of New Orleans. This little beverage has quit a history, based on the need for O'Brien's to get rid of far too much rum and wanted a drink to move product.
The original hurricane uses Fassionola Syrup, which we have, so we'll try that too against that of the recipe within Jeff Berry's book (most folks substitute Passion Fruit syrup for Fassionola).
The Hurricane
- 2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 2 oz Passion Fruit Syrup
- 4 oz Dark Jamaican Rum
The Jonathan English Company's brand will be compared to your standard B.G. Reynolds' Passion Fruit Syrup, and comes out tasting a bit more like Pat O'Brien's but also a bit more sweet.

The Mint Julep | Easy Whiskey Summer Drinks!
Today we'll show you how to make the mint julep cocktail recipe, an easy whiskey summer drink.
AwesomeDrinks Sales: http://awesomedrinks.com
Mint Julep Cup (Amazon Affiliate): https://amzn.to/43JCiNf
The mint julep is a classically known mint based cocktail that's much like that of a mojito in terms of mint, but it's got less ingredients, no club soda, and primarily only spirit. This is a spirit forward summer drink known for being a potent ball of crushed ice.
For our mint julep we use a high proof bourbon which takes a bit of time to dilute down to where you can get more of a refreshing flavor (instead of icy fire).

Whiskey Sour Drink: Egg White vs. Vor Faba Foamer (Aquafaba)
Today we test egg white in our Whiskey Sour ("Boston Sour") against an Aquafaba Vegan foam.
We are using (amazon affiliate) Vor Faba Foamer: https://amzn.to/3J5AHsO
We tried Vor once before and it left us with the want for something better, it had an off-taste that ruined the cocktail. But, Vor went back and came up with a new product design: Vor Faba Foamer
And, this time? The sucker actually works. It does not leave a funky taste, but does it hold up against egg white? The Egg White version is much creamier, much more dry and the whiskey is more forward in the taste. The foam bubbles are bigger with Vor Faba Foamer but they are present, and the flavor profile is much more lemon-forward vs traditional egg white.
Whiskey Sour:
- 2.0 oz Bourbon Whiskey
- 0.75 oz Fresh lemon juice
- 0.75 oz Simple syrup
- 0.5 oz Egg White vs. Faba Foamer
- 1 pinch Salt
