My voice is not good at the moment. But I am really keen to get this out .. and four others like it.
===
I'm forgiven because You were forsaken
I'm accepted, You were condemned
I'm alive and well, Your spirit is within me
Because You died and rose again
I'm forgiven because You were forsaken
I'm accepted, You were condemned
I'm alive and well, Your spirit is within me
Because You died and rose again
Amazing love, how can it be?
That You, my King would die for me
Amazing love, I know its true
It's my joy to honor You
Amazing love how can it be?
That my King would die for me
Amazing love I know its true
It's my joy to honor You, in all I do I honor You
I'm forgiven because You were forsaken
I'm accepted, You were condemned
I'm alive and well, Your spirit is within me
Because You died and rose again
Amazing love, how can it be?
That You, my King would die for me…

I love this piece and I find I wanted to cover it because we are approaching the anniversary of the death of my father, and this song covers elements of my relationship with my dad. He didn't like me or respect me, and I suspect that he was partly responsible for the abuse of me surrounding the death of school boy Hamidur Rahman and the bungled pedophile investigation that seems to have sparked it. He wasn't stupid, and he was aware of what he was doing, and on a few private occasions made clumsy attempts to apologize. But he seemed to be intimidated by my choosing to follow Christ and even at the end seemed to suggest he was too proud to attempt to come to terms. My last words to him were meant to hurt. I smiled and waved and reminded him to stay in touch. I can be cold like that.

Bright Eyes 4 PFB
Pamela Frances Ball died on 14th Feb, 1978. She was 13 years old. Valentines Day. I love her, and miss her. I promised TMN that my memory of her would be shared in the knowledge God loves. Pam was born crippled from a faulty kidney and died from renal failure after rejecting a transplant. I only recently got these pictures to share of her. Mainly from a Sydney visit circa 1975. Many thanks to family friend Raymond Debus for the treasure.
The song Bright Eyes was released soon after.
"Bright Eyes" is a song written by British songwriter Mike Batt and performed by Art Garfunkel. It was written for the soundtrack of the 1978 British animated adventure drama film Watership Down. Rearranged as a pop song from its original form in the film, the track appears on British and European versions of Garfunkel's 1979 Fate for Breakfast and on the US versions of his 1981 album Scissors Cut. "Bright Eyes" topped the UK Singles Chart for six weeks and became Britain's biggest-selling single of 1979, selling over a million copies. Richard Adams, author of the original novel is reported to have hated the song. A cover of the song was later used in the television series of the same name explicitly as its theme song.

Sealed with a kiss
"Sealed with a Kiss" is the title of a song written by Peter Udell and Gary Geld. It was first recorded in 1960 by The Four Voices. While their version was released as a single, it failed to make a significant impact. In 1962, Brian Hyland, a frequent recorder of Udell's and Geld's material, released the song as a single. It became very popular, charting as high as # 3 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. It charted in the UK at # 7 when re-released in 1975. Hyland also recorded a version in German.

O Holy Night
It is Christmas eve, and so I thought I would do this number that never gets sung at Carols unless someone can sing it. I don't know the tune .. so I guess a little .. but I think it comes out alright.
===
The words and lyrics of the old carol 'O Holy Night' were written by Placide Cappeau de Roquemaure in 1847. Cappeau was a wine seller by trade but was asked by the parish priest to write a poem for Christmas. He obliged and wrote the beautiful words of the hymn. He then realised that it should have music to accompany the words and he approached his friend Adolphe Charles Adams(1803-1856). He agreed and the music for the poem was therefore composed by Adolphe Charles Adams. Adolphe had attended the Paris conservatoire and forged a brilliant career as a composer. It was translated into English by John Sullivan Dwight (1812-1893).

Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out
Welcome back, to that same old place that you laughed about
Well the names have all changed since you hung around
But those dreams have remained and they've turned around
Who'd have thought they'd lead ya
(Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Back here where we need ya
(Back here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
[Full Version continues]
We always could spot a friend, welcome back
And I smile when I think how you must have been
And I know what a scene you were learning in
Was there something that made you come back again
And what could ever lead ya
(What could ever lead ya)
Back here where we need ya
(Back here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back
And I know what a scene you were learning in
Was there something that made you come back again
And what could ever lead ya
(What could ever lead ya)
Back here where we need ya
(Back here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back

Father and Son cat stevens number
"Father and Son" is a popular song written and performed by English singer-songwriter, Yusuf Islam (then known as Cat Stevens) on his 1970 album Tea for the Tillerman.
The song frames an exchange between a father not understanding a son's desire to break away and shape a new life, and the son who cannot really explain himself but knows that it is time for him to seek his own destiny. To echo this, Stevens sings in a deeper register for the father's lines, while using a higher, more emotive one for those of the son. Additionally, there are backing vocals provided by Stevens' guitarist and friend, Alun Davies, singing an unusual chorus of simple words, and sentences such as, "No", "Why must you go and make this decision?", beginning mid-song, so softly, they are only perceptible with a slight increase in volume towards the end of the song.
