This is a tribute to my fellow soldiers that I served with in Iraq and their families. This is also a tribute to the eight soldiers from my batallion (1/68 CAB) that made the ultimate sacrifice. Slow Motion Gel is the last 4 minutes of the video! Had about 45 minutes of B roll from our range day. None of it good camera work and even the slow mo was acting like shit. Trying out a new kel tec, 1911, my colt army, several homemade slugs Lee Key drive 1oz at different powder loads 25/35/40.5gr , Diabolo 540gr hardened slugs. But since I had the slow mo sitting there along side all this extra film I just put some interesting bits in. Image stabilization was off on my camera somehow and post process stabilization made the file 8gb. The ballistics gel was provided by Clearballistics and is their 20% sniper blocks. I use 20% so that I can capture my rounds in 2 gel blocks. The wound channels arent nearly as impressive but the impact force and final bullet disposition are what I am interested in with my custom rounds. The rounds aren't listed in the slow motion because this footage was just left over and I can't remember which is which. We were shooting 22 mag, 9mm, 45 and 12 gauge slugs. Next time. Part of the push to flatten Sadr City in 2007/8 - all civilians were given 2 weeks to evacuate prior to hostilities starting. Only people left were enemy combatants. 42 days non-stop firefight

I tried to get it all done in one day but I underestimated how massive slow motion files were and how draining they were on batteries. They drained 2 5000mah batteries from 100% to 0% just with 3 caliber tests. For part 2 I split the recording across 2 cameras and have much better light. Also, enabled pro version of my software so i can use hardware acceleration to help render these 60gig files. The high impact 540 grain slugs are coming. Stay tuned.
