Red Sails In The Sunset
Red Sails In The Sunset
I am still going through all of the music scores that I inherited from my father. About 200+. One paper is a magazine of Henry Hall's Souvenir Song Book, from 1937!
Look up Henry Hall - quite an early important music icon. One of the songs (I am going to get to the others, over time...) is this little gem.
Henry didn't write the music or lyrics - he had the band and conducted them. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Hall_%28bandleader%29)
Words and music by Jimmy Kennedy and Hugh Williams.
In case you are wondering about the CAPS in the lyrics - well, that's what it is like in the actual lyrics - don't ask me why - no idea...

Ronald Gomer - A Perfect Love
This extremely short organ piece was written by Ronald Gomer for my parents, when they got married in 1941. By then, my father had survived part of WW2 and still had the last part to go. He made it back. Millions did not. The Golspie reference is down to part of my mothers family coming from Scotland, centuries before - yes, I am a MacBeth!!! I presumably have the only copy of it in existence.
