Near high-speed birdstrike of my Phantom 3 Pro
This clip is from this flight https://youtu.be/g5RARruwOM4 @ 2 minutes, 31 seconds. Note the white object near the center of the screen flying past my right side. This is slowed down 16 times normal speed. This was originally shot in 30fps 1080P. I'm not sure what this object is, it goes by in about 1/2 second in the original video and I did not see it until I viewed the video in post. I presume it is a bird flying in the other direction. As I was flying at 37 mph we would have been closing on each other at about 70mph! I see what looks like a course change in the object at about 19seconds or 3 frames before it leaves the field of view.

What's going on behind those Fracking walls?
Not much really...
We have a new drilling operation going on in the neighborhood. These operations are common in Northern Colorado. They setup, drill and take this down over a period of several months. All that's left will be some storage tanks when they're done.
Some people think they are hiding something behind those walls.
Well, as you can see, there hiding their office trailers and tool sheds and other equipment that might be thought of as unsightly. Seems like things that good neighbors do, doesn't it?

UPair One 2-Axis Gimbal vs. Phantom 3 Pro 3-Axis Gimbal. Any Questions?
After you experience a quality video system, it's impossible to go back to capturing videos with the UPair One. The quality is unmistakable!

25+ minutes! UPair One Battery Test (w/Crash)
More than 25 minutes with the UPair one in flight on a single battery!
Testing my UPair One without the camera and gimbal attached. I've been having some trouble with my 2.7k camera so I disconnected it and have been flying line of sight without the FPV. It's great practice for flying without the aid of FPV and for testing headless mode and return to home functions. Did you know that you can recover from a full down elevator with flutter on the UPair without crashing? Here is a battery longevity test that ends with the drone completely shutting off while still in the air!
The RTH function worked great but after cancelling the RTH, the low battery forced landing didn't work at all!

Phantom 3 Pro Cinematic flight using Litchi in 4k
Using Litchi Mission Hub to design this cinematic flight around Northern Colorado, this completely automated mission was my second try at incorporating multiple POI's along with altitude changes to create sweeping panoramas.
The Phantom 3's landing gear will get into the shot if your angle of rotation of the aircraft on the longitudinal axis is more than about 40° and the pitch angle of the gimbal is around -45° to -65°. That's one of the reasons that the DJI Inspire series have retractable landing gear. You can minimize this effect by limiting your speed requirements for the quad (fly it slower) or keeping the camera angle higher.

Irrigation Canal Flight with Litchi
This Irrigation canal is about 1/2 mile away and will make a nice subject throughout the year. I would like to perfect a Litchi mission to film it in various seasons. This isn't the best way to film this structure, but more of a test to see how well a mission planned in Litchi will follow the contours of the canal.

Use Google Earth & Litchi for Aerial Drone Photography
Can you plan your photography shots in advance using Google Earth? Can LItchi automate those creative shots into a mission? That's what I'm trying to figure out in this video. I'll share my methodology and lessons learned and if Litchi is a good tool for this application.

UpAir One - Racing Drone?
The UPair One is a tank, but why not?? Strip down the extra weight, add Racerstar motors and viola! An UPair Racer!
I was doing some sharp deceleration during the end of the course, the rear motors stalled during the sharp deceleration, I replayed it slower just to confirm what happened. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
