Do we have reasons to be fretful? - Prayer Time with Arabah Joy and Jen Evangelista
If you have seen the news lately, we have lots of reasons to be fretful, but the Bible has some wonderful verses to help us deal with anxiety. Today Jen and I want to share some of our favorites.
----
Psalm 37
Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.
For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.
-----
This passage brings so much peace to my heart, and I hope it encourages you too.
I pray that we trust the Lord, that we do not fret when evil "succeeds." Our part is to trust in Him, and not give into anger, anxiety, or fear. Let's take all the energy and time we spend worrying and pour it into delighting in the Lord.
-----
Isaiah 43:1-2
But now, this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
-----
It doesn't matter how hard we fail, he is still faithful, he still loves us, and he redeems us. His plan of redemption was planned since the creation of the world and there's nothing we can do to stop this beautiful plan.
If you have enjoyed the last few weeks, we encourage you to follow @arabahjoy and @grancencolor. While our weekly prayer time is soon coming to an end, you can still hear what's next from us by following our accounts!

My responsibility is to Amen the Promises - Prayer time with Arabah Joy and Jen Evangelista
Do you amen the promises of God?
2 Corinthians 1:20 says "For every one of God’s promises is “Yes” in Him".
For years I had never considered *my* part or responsibility in amening those promises.
Our responsibility is to say YES to what is true about the work of Christ and the provisions he has made for us.
When we understand our responsibility to amen the promises, a light bulb comes on.
When we amen the promises it begins to radically change our heart.
If you haven't signed up for the Praying the Promises of the Cross Challenge, there's still time! We begin tomorrow!

Come out and be separated from the world - Prayer time with Arabah Joy and Jen Evangelista
Come out and be separated from the world, to live redeemed with different standards. God called us to come out and be set apart for Him in the world. He desires us to be weaned and separated from the things of this world, trading them for a life lived close to His heart. “Let us not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of our minds.”
We welcome you to pray with us in the comments!

1 Peter 5:8-10 - Standing Firmly on Christ
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm, and steadfast.
