Zoe didn't join us on the first walk on NYE even though she wanted to. Her fear kept her behind the first time but, today, she overcomes and decides to come out with us. We noticed this little goose had been abandoned and was wandering out in Nature's Nursery out back peckin' for seeds and weeds. We also noticed she was limping. We figured if she was smart enough to eat on her own then she might be old enough to survive with a little help from her friends. That's us. We were wondering if she was smart enough to find some shade and when we realized she had made it into the Barnage on her own we figured she has an extra good chance of survival. We'll see. The beautiful, peaceful marsh has frozen over enough this morning for Floki Cat to explore one of nature's most beautiful places in Northeast Wisconsin.

Floki disappeared on our walk and stopped calling out to us so I went to find him and he had clearly gotten distracted by a rodent. He just couldn't resist the hunt or the meal! Otis cat must have fell through the ice in the Marsh and comes home straight away to do yoga in a sunny spot.

Little Buckaroo showed up yesterday. We are not sure what happened to the original 8 point Buckaroo from last year but we can guess he ended up in someone's freezer last fall. Anyways, Little Buckaroo came back today with his younger brother. Now we have two young Buckaroos. Up until now, we usually only see young females with their adult females (Moms and Aunties).
