Military parade held in Paris for France's July 14 National Day
A traditional military parade was held in the capital Paris on the occasion of France's 14 July National Day.
The street was closed to vehicle traffic for the military parade held every year on the famous Champs-Elysees Avenue in Paris as part of the National Day.
French President Emmanuel Macron, Macron's wife Brigitte Macron, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, Minister of Defence Sebastien Lecornu and Minister of Interior Gerald Darmanin attended the ceremony and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the "guest of honour".
During the ceremony where the French National Anthem La Marseillaise was sung, Indian soldiers were also present at the parade and Rafale-type fighter jets flew over the capital.

The NATO-Ukraine Council, which was established to bring relations between NATO and Ukraine to a higher level, convened for the first time in its history.

Reiterating NATO's support for Ukraine, Stoltenberg said, "We are inspired by your courage. We must continue our support to ensure that Ukraine liberates its territory and deter future Russian aggression."
Stoltenberg said, "Today we came together as equals. I look forward to the day when we will come together as allies."

Leaders of NATO member states came together on the second day of the summit meeting in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
Turkey is represented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the North Atlantic Council Meeting at the level of heads of state and government.

"We must stand together for a rules-based global order," Stoltenberg said, adding that this is why the participation of partners in today's NATO Summit is important.
