How To Add Inhibitor To A Central Heating System
Follow these steps to add leak sealer, cleaner, inhibitor or any other chemicals to your radiators without draining the system.
Learn how to add inhibitor to a central heating system and protect it from limescale and corrosion.
This can be tricky and messy when doing it for the first time, so be sure to put some old towels down. You might have really sludgy heating system water and you don't want chemicals on your carpet either.
If the water doesn't stop coming out of the bleed valve when you release the pressure, it means at least one of the radiator valves is faulty and not closing. You'll either have to dose in another radiator or drain the heating system.

How To Increase Boiler Pressure On Ideal Logic Combi
Ideal boiler pressure guide https://housewarm.co.uk/ideal-boiler-pressure/
Ideal boiler F1 fault guide https://housewarm.co.uk/ideal-boiler-f1-fault-code/
Is your Ideal boiler pressure too low? How do I increase the boiler pressure?
To increase the pressure on an Ideal Logic combi boiler, you must open the two valves with blue handles by turning one 90 degrees until fully open.
Then you need to open the other valve slowly until the pressure starts rising on the pressure gauge.
Then, close them both fully when you've reached 1 to 1.5 bar on the pressure gauge.
An Ideal logic boiler will sometimes show an F1 fault code when the boiler pressure is too low.
If your boiler keeps losing pressure, you have a problem with your boiler or heating system that needs to be fixed. Most commonly a leak.

Why does my boiler keep losing pressure? https://housewarm.co.uk/boiler-keeps-losing-pressure/
Learn how to repressurise a Baxi combi boiler when the pressure is too low. The Baxi 600, Baxi 800, and Main Eco Compact combi boiler are all the same.
If you have a different Baxi boiler, the process will be the same but the filling loops might be slightly different.
You must open both valves to let water into the heating system.
If you have two black knobs, turn one anti-clockwise as far as it will go to open it, then turn the other one anti-clockwise slowly until you hear the water and see the pressure gauge moving.
Then turn both knobs clockwise as far as they will go to close them when you have reached the correct pressure.
