Navigating #MECFS & #ChronicPain The Transformative Power of Suffering: Lessons from Thich Nhat Hanh
Explore "No Mud, No Lotus." @ https://amzn.to/3EFXrNK Where you will find this and other wonderful books by Thich Nhat Hanh. Chapter One of "No Mud, No Lotus" by Thich Nhat Hanh is a compelling introduction to the transformative power of suffering and its relationship to spiritual growth.
In this chapter, the author uses the lotus flower as a metaphor for the human experience, explaining that the lotus grows in the mud at the bottom of a pond but rises above the surface to blossom into a beautiful and fragrant flower. Thich Nhat Hanh suggests that our suffering and challenges can lead us to a higher state of consciousness and inner peace, just as the lotus flower grows from the mud to become a beautiful symbol of transformation and enlightenment.
This perspective can be particularly beneficial for individuals with chronic illnesses like ME/CFS, Long COVID, and other chronic illnesses, who often experience significant physical, emotional, and mental suffering. The chapter offers a framework for understanding the relationship between suffering and enlightenment through the Four Noble Truths. The first noble truth is the recognition of suffering, the second noble truth is the identification of the causes of suffering, the third noble truth is the possibility of ending suffering, and the fourth noble truth is the path that leads to the end of suffering.
This framework can be helpful for individuals with chronic illness as it offers a way to make sense of their suffering and provides a path towards finding relief and inner peace. The author emphasizes the idea that our suffering can provide us with the nourishment we need to grow and develop spiritually, just as the lotus flower needs the nutrients and minerals from the mud to grow and blossom.
Overall, Chapter One of "No Mud, No Lotus" provides valuable information for individuals, like myself, with chronic illness by presenting a perspective that can help us find meaning and purpose in our experience, and by offering a framework for understanding and coping with our suffering. The metaphor of the lotus flower is a powerful and compelling image that draws the reader in and offers hope for a brighter future.
Thich Nhat Hanh's writing is clear and accessible, making this book a valuable resource for anyone interested in the intersection of spirituality and personal growth, particularly those living with chronic illness.

💖 Let thoughts pass through your mind like a bird flying through the sky without leaving a trace. 🙏
"If we allow our thoughts to arise and dissolve by themselves, they will pass through our mind as a bird flies through the sky, without leaving a trace." - Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche
Dilgo Kyentse Rinpoche was a wise teacher who taught about love and kindness. His heart teaching is about understanding that everyone, including ourselves, wants to be happy and not suffer.
He taught that when we are kind and loving to others, it makes them happy, and it also makes us happy too. Just like when we share our toys or help a friend, it feels good in our heart.
Rinpoche also taught that sometimes we might feel angry or upset, but if we take a deep breath and try to understand why we feel that way, we can learn to let go of those negative feelings and choose to be kind instead.
In summary, Dilgo Kyentse Rinpoche's heart teaching is about being kind and loving to ourselves and others, even when we feel upset, because it brings happiness to everyone.

💖 With #MECFS This Gentle Stretching Routine Works for #ME Maybe it Will Work for You Too.
Mindfulness and pacing and respecting our own current capacity for activity when Living with ME/CFS or Long COVID is extremely important. When dealing with conditions like ME/CFS or Long COVID, it is crucial to approach gentle exercise, such as stretching, with mindfulness. It's best to start with a slow pace, gradually increasing or decreasing the duration and intensity of your exercise or stretching to align with how your body reacts. You are the best judge of your body's capabilities, and it's essential to listen to what it's telling you.
Breathing deeply and slowly can help to improve oxygenation and reduce stress.
Use as little or as much effort that feels right to you. You don't want to exacerbate symptoms. You want to relax and de-stress. There is no need to imitate me or any image of what stretching and yoga look like. Always, always, respect and honor your body and your current limitations. Clue: it should feel good. If it doesn't feel good, then don't do it.
It is very important to listen to your body and not push yourself beyond your limits.
Overexertion can exacerbate symptoms and lead to a worsening of your condition. Being mindful of your body, and paying attention to any sensations of pain, discomfort or fatigue, can help you to avoid injury and maintain a safe practice. The idea is to be mindful of your body and what types of movement or stretching feels good and nourishing to you.
Both slow easy yoga and slow easy stretching can be beneficial, as they can help to improve flexibility, relieve tension, and promote relaxation. And if done mindfully and respectfully of your current energy levels and capacity, you can get some good exercise without exacerbating chronic fatigue symptoms.
Props, such as blankets or blocks, can be used to support the body and make postures more relaxing and accessible. Feel free to experiment with what works best for you. But, always respect your current level of fatigue - how many spoons do you have?
As you probably know, your capacity and tolerance for activity can change from day to day so what felt good yesterday may be too much for today. Really, the key to success is listening and responding to you body from moment to moment.
I call it "coming in under the radar" as I am constantly, and to the best of my ability, choosing activities and activity levels that won't cause any regrets. This is a skill that you must develop for yourself as everyone is different. Be aware of what you can do without activating symptoms ( the radar alarms ) and do that.
Disclaimer: I am not a physician. It may be important to consult with your healthcare provider before beginning any new exercise program, especially if you have a pre-existing medical condition like Chronic Fatigue.
Also, if you can afford it, a qualified yoga instructor or physical therapist who is experienced in working with individuals with chronic illness can also provide guidance and support. If you look around, I'm sure you can find a good yoga instructor to come to you home. Yoga teachers are generally very kind, compassionate and caring people.
Let me know how it goes for you in the comments section. Please feel free to ask questions too. Gentle yoga and stretching have been my go to for exercise and relaxation. And as long as I don't overdo it, has been very compatible with not exacerbating symptoms.
Good luck everyone!
May you find peace, joy, and well-being on your journey.

#MECFS Tips: 💖 Cultivate Calm Abiding, Inner Peace and Tranquility With this Guided Meditation.
Welcome to this short guided meditation for Shamatha, also known as, Calm Abiding.
Find a comfortable seated position with your spine upright and your shoulders relaxed.
Gently close your eyes, and take a deep breath in, exhaling slowly.
Bring your attention to your breath, and focus on the sensation, of the air moving in and out of your nostrils.
Simply observe the breath without trying to change it.
As you inhale, count "one" silently to yourself. As you exhale, count "two".
Continue counting each breath up to "ten".
If you lose count or become distracted, gently bring your attention back to your breath and start counting from one again.
Notice any thoughts, feelings or sensations that arise, and simply observe them without judgment or reaction. Allow them to come and go, like clouds drifting across the sky.
If your mind wanders, gently bring your attention back to your breath and you’re your counting.
Be patient and kind with yourself, relaxing takes practice.
As you continue to focus on your breath, you may notice a sense of calmness, and relaxation spreading throughout your body. Let this feeling of peace and stillness wash over you.
You can stay in this state of Shamatha or Calm Abiding for as long as you like.
When you're ready to end your meditation, take a deep breath in and exhale slowly, gently opening your eyes.
Remember that the benefits of Shamatha Calm Abiding extend beyond your meditation practice and into your daily life.
Practicing this technique regularly can help you cultivate a greater sense of calmness, clarity and focus.

The Power of Hope and Resilience: Navigating Chronic Illness with Courage and Perseverance
TO SEE THE FULL VIDEO GO HERE 👉 https://youtu.be/tpxqMIMvsH0 Welcome to this video on the power of hope and resilience in the face of chronic illness. Hope is an essential ingredient in the human experience, guiding us through dark times and propelling us toward our dreams. When it comes to illnesses like myalgic encephalomyelitis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and long COVID, hope can often seem elusive. However, it is precisely in these moments of darkness that hope is most needed.
Welcome to my YouTube channel dedicated to providing valuable resources and information for those suffering from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Chronic Fatigue, and Long Covid. Living with chronic illness can be a challenging and isolating experience, but there are resources available to help individuals manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life.
ME/CFS is often invisible to the naked eye. A person with ME/CFS may look perfectly healthy on the outside. This can lead to misunderstandings and misconceptions from others who may not fully grasp the impact of the condition. There are some good support networks available that provide help and support to people living with ME/CFS and Long Covid. These communities offer a space for individuals to connect, share their experiences, and find comfort and understanding from others who are also struggling with similar symptoms and challenges. Many of these networks are available online and through social media, making them accessible to people all around the world. In these communities, people can find a sense of belonging, gain valuable information and resources, and receive emotional support from others who truly understand what they are going through. These support networks can be instrumental in helping individuals move from a place of isolation and helplessness to one of connection, hope, and empowerment.

Long Covid, also known as post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC), is a condition where individuals continue to experience symptoms of Covid-19 long after the initial infection has passed. Many of the symptoms of Long Covid overlap with those of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), a complex and debilitating illness that can be triggered by a viral infection and can last for a long time. In fact, some healthcare professionals are now diagnosing Long Covid as ME/CFS, recognizing the similarities in symptoms and pathophysiology. ME/CFS is characterized by symptoms such as severe fatigue, pain, cognitive dysfunction, and post-exertional malaise (PEM), which is a worsening of symptoms after physical or mental exertion. While there is no known cure for ME/CFS, self-management strategies such as pacing, stress reduction, meditation and CBT therapy can help individuals manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life. Pacing involves balancing activity and rest, and avoiding overexertion, which can trigger PEM and worsen symptoms. However, it is important to note that there is ongoing but underfunded research into ME/CFS and Long Covid, including studies on the biological mechanisms of the illnesses, potential treatments, and diagnostic tools. A small percentage of Healthcare professionals and researchers are working towards improving the understanding and management of these conditions, and there are few advocacy and support groups available for individuals who are living with ME/CFS and Long Covid.

We Want Effective Treatment for #MECFS & Equal Research Funding: The Disparity in Funding Must End.🙏
Directory of Representatives by state: https://www.house.gov/representatives
Directory of Representatives by zip code: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative Animation by https://studio.d-id.com Voice by https://beta.elevenlabs.io
According to the CDC about 2.5 million Americans suffer from Chronic Fatigue syndrome ME/CFS yet this condition receives only fourteen million dollars annually in federal research funding. In comparison, multiple sclerosis, affecting 1 million Americans, receives over one hundred million dollars and Parkinson's disease, affecting around 1 million Americans, receives over two hundred million dollars. And H.I.V. AIDS, affecting around 1.2 million Americans, receives over three billion dollars annually.
This disparity in funding must change. It's time for our lawmakers to prioritize funding for ME/CFS research and to work towards finding effective treatments for this debilitating illness. Take action today by using the link in the description below to send these statistics to your lawmakers and let them know about this issue. Together, we can make a difference for the millions of people suffering from ME/CFS Thank you.

💖 #Meditation with a Tibetan Monk in a Peaceful Cave Cultivating Wisdom Love, Kindness & Compassion.
Practice sitting in Stillness and listening to the Silence of the spaciousness of the Mind. We need more wisdom, loving-kindness and Compassion. Practicing the cultivation of wisdom, loving-kindness and Compassion is essential in our world today. #InwardBound
Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche says: “If we allow our thoughts to arise and dissolve by themselves, they will pass through our mind as a bird flies through the sky, without leaving a trace.”
Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche was a great Tibetan Buddhist master known for his vast knowledge, compassion, and wisdom. His heart teachings offer profound insights into the nature of reality and the path to liberation. One of his famous heart teachings is as follows:
"Whatever joy there is in this world,
All comes from desiring others to be happy,
And whatever suffering there is in this world,
All comes from desiring oneself to be happy.
So if we wish for our own happiness,
We must wish for others to be happy as well.
And if we wish for the happiness of others,
We will find happiness, even in our own suffering."
This teaching highlights the importance of developing a compassionate attitude towards others, recognizing that their happiness and well-being are inseparable from our own. By cultivating a selfless concern for the welfare of others, we can overcome our own selfish desires and find lasting happiness and peace. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche's heart teaching reminds us of the fundamental interconnectedness of all beings and encourages us to live with kindness, compassion, and generosity towards others.

💖 Here are 10 facts about #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis #ChronicFatigueSyndrome #MECFS & #LongCovid 👉 Do you Agree?
NOTE: I am personally affected by severe ME/CFS, which can limit my abilities to create content as I would like. Therefore, in order to continue spreading awareness about ME/CFS, I may collaborate with AI technology to assist me in creating art, text, synthesized voices, and avatars. It's important to note that I am the chief editor, and I carefully review and approve all content that is posted. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Here are 10 facts about Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Do you Agree or Disagree?
1. ME/CFS is a complex and debilitating illness that affects around 17 million people worldwide.
2. The cause of ME/CFS is unknown, but it is believed to be triggered by a combination of factors, including viral infections, immune dysfunction, and environmental toxins.
3. ME/CFS is characterized by symptoms such as severe fatigue, pain, cognitive dysfunction, and post-exertional malaise (PEM), which is a worsening of symptoms after physical or mental exertion.
4. ME/CFS is an overwhelming and life long illness for the majority of patients and there is currently no known cure or specific treatment.
5. ME/CFS affects people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities, but is more common in women than in men.
6. ME/CFS can have a profound impact on a person's quality of life, leading to social isolation, financial difficulties, and mental health issues.
7. ME/CFS is often misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all, due to a lack of awareness and understanding among healthcare professionals.
8. ME/CFS, although still dismissed by most doctors, it is beginning to be recognized as a neuro-immune disease and as a disabling condition by the CDC, the WHO and the US Social Security Administration.
9. There is underfunded and minimal serious research going into ME/CFS, including half-hearted studies on the biological mechanisms of the illness, potential treatments, and diagnostic tools.
10. Due to the lack of support from healthcare professionals, ME/CFS patients tend to look for support from each other and now in the 21st century, there are a growing number of advocacy and support groups available online. However, there are too many low-quality resources that paint ME/CFS as a psychiatric illness or that promote treatments that are at best ineffective or at worst harmful. Getting the right resources to healthcare professionals and getting them to actually believe those resources is still a struggle.

💖 Sit by the tranquil shores.. the sand beneath my toes.. the pelican soars.. & my heart overflows
As I sit by the tranquil shores,
With sand beneath my toes,
The symphony of nature roars,
And my heart overflows.
The sun's warm rays kiss my skin,
The gentle breeze caresses my hair,
I feel a sense of peace within,
As if all my worries disappear.
The rhythmic waves, a lullaby,
The birds' melodies, a sweet choir,
Nature's beauty makes me sigh,
As my soul's deepest desires transpire.
The colors of the sky and sea,
A canvas of endless hues,
It's a sight that fills me with glee,
And ignites my spirit anew.
I sit and soak it all in,
This moment of pure bliss,
For in nature, I find kin,
And my heart finds eternal solace.

💖 Embracing the Beauty of Life's Transitions: Finding Peace in Impermanence & Change.😊
Impermanence and change are two constants in life. From the changing seasons to the aging of our bodies, everything is in a constant state of flux. Yet, accepting and making peace with these realities can be challenging for many of us. In this longer piece, we will explore the beauty of embracing life's transitions and finding peace in impermanence and change.
At its core, impermanence is a reminder that nothing lasts forever. We experience this every day in small ways, such as when a flower withers or when a meal is consumed. However, when we experience significant changes such as the end of a relationship or the death of a loved one, we are often faced with a deeper sense of impermanence. These changes can feel overwhelming and can shake our sense of stability and security.
It's natural to want to hold onto the things and people we love. We might try to control situations or cling to relationships, hoping to keep things the way they are. But the truth is that this approach is not only impossible, but it also causes unnecessary suffering. When we resist change, we create a sense of separation between ourselves and reality. We become trapped in our own minds, unable to see the beauty and potential that lies in the present moment.
On the other hand, when we embrace impermanence and change, we open ourselves up to new experiences and possibilities. We can begin to see change as an opportunity for growth and transformation, rather than as something to be feared. By acknowledging that everything is impermanent, we can develop a deeper appreciation for the present moment and the people and things in our lives. We can learn to let go of what no longer serves us and make space for new experiences and relationships.
Making peace with impermanence and change also requires a certain level of resilience. When we experience significant changes or setbacks, we may feel lost or overwhelmed. However, by cultivating resilience, we can learn to bounce back from difficult situations and move forward with a sense of purpose and direction. Resilience allows us to recognize that setbacks are a natural part of life, and that we have the strength and capacity to overcome them.
So, how can we cultivate resilience in the face of impermanence and change? One way is to focus on building strong relationships and connections with others. Having a support system can help us weather difficult times and provide us with a sense of belonging and purpose. We can also focus on developing skills and qualities that help us adapt to new situations, such as flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
Finally, it's important to remember that impermanence and change are not inherently negative. They are simply a natural part of life, and embracing them can lead to a deeper sense of peace and fulfillment. By letting go of our attachments and opening ourselves up to new experiences and possibilities, we can create a life that is rich and meaningful. So, let's embrace the beauty of life's transitions and find peace in impermanence and change.

💖 It's a Curious Fact, That Both #MECFS & #LongCOVID Share Common Similarities. 🤔
It is a curious fact that both ME/CFS and Long COVID share certain similarities. One such similarity is the presence of persistent fatigue that can limit one's ability to perform daily activities. This fatigue may be accompanied by other symptoms such as brain fog, muscle pain, and sleep disturbances. Additionally, both ME/CFS and Long COVID can have a significant impact on a person's quality of life and may require significant adjustments to one's daily routine. While the underlying causes of these conditions are still being studied, it is clear that they present significant challenges for those affected and require further attention from the scientific community.
NOTE: I am suffering from severe MECFS and am not always able to do as I like. Therefore, I may at times collaborate with AI technology to help me create art, text, synthesized voices and avatars to spread awareness about MECFS. However, I am the chief editor. And, I approve all content that is posted.
Hope is an essential ingredient in the human experience. It is the light that guides us through the darkness, the anchor that keeps us grounded in the face of adversity, and the fuel that propels us towards our dreams. When it comes to illnesses like Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Long COVID, hope can often seem elusive. These chronic conditions can be debilitating, leaving individuals feeling hopeless and alone. However, it is precisely in these moments of darkness that hope is most needed.
Resilience is the ability to adapt and recover from adversity. It is a key component in the journey towards healing and can be found in all areas of life. Whether it is physical, emotional, or spiritual resilience, it is the foundation upon which we build our lives. For those living with ME/CFS and Long COVID, resilience is essential. It allows us to face each day with courage and determination, even when the road ahead seems long and uncertain.
One of the most significant challenges facing those living with ME/CFS and Long COVID is the lack of understanding and support from the broader community. Many people are quick to dismiss these conditions as "just tiredness" or "all in your head." This lack of empathy and understanding can be isolating and discouraging. However, it is important to remember that resilience is not something that is cultivated in isolation. It is found in the connections we make with others, the support we receive, and the hope that we hold onto together.
In recent years, the #MECFS and #LongCOVID communities have come together in a powerful show of resilience and hope. These communities have provided a space for individuals to connect with others who understand their struggles and offer support and encouragement. Through social media, online forums, and support groups, individuals living with these conditions have found a sense of belonging and purpose.
Despite the differences between ME/CFS and Long COVID, there is also a great deal of common ground. Both conditions can be debilitating, leaving individuals with symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, and chronic pain. Both conditions also face a similar lack of understanding and support from the broader community. By coming together, individuals living with ME/CFS and Long COVID have been able to share their experiences and find common ground in their struggles.
One of the most powerful tools in cultivating hope and resilience is the power of reflection. Taking time to reflect on our experiences, our emotions, and our journey can provide valuable insights into our strengths and weaknesses. It can also help us to recognize the progress we have made and the goals we still hope to achieve. Reflection can be a powerful source of inspiration and motivation, helping us to move forward with a sense of purpose and determination.
In the journey towards healing and resilience, it is also essential to cultivate self-compassion. This means treating ourselves with the same kindness, care, and understanding that we would offer to a dear friend. It means acknowledging our limitations and allowing ourselves to rest when needed. It means celebrating our successes and being gentle with ourselves in moments of struggle.
