New turn signal lights on a GY6 150cc Chinese scooter
I installed some new turn signals on my scooter. The old ones were broken and falling off, and the flasher bulbs didn't turn on. The wiring is easy.
Blue = right turn signal +
Orange = left turn signal +
Green = ground - negative for both.
Polarity is not important for incandescent light bulbs, but if you're using LED lights, you'll have to make sure the + and - are connected to the right wires. You may also need a different flasher relay that is designed for LED lights.

Engine and transmission gear oil change in a GY6 150cc Chinese scooter
You should change the oil in your scooter every 1,000 miles or once per year, whichever comes first.
The engine takes 0.7 quarts of 10W-40 full synthetic motorcycle oil Make sure to buy 4-stroke oil.
The transmission takes 0.1 quarts of 75W-90 gear oil.
It's ok to mix used gear oil with used motor oil. Take your old oil to your local auto parts store to get it recycled. If you don't have that option, contact your local landfill. They will have a place to dispose of hazardous waste.

How to replace and adjust rear brake shoes in a 150cc GY6 Chinese scooter
https://www.partsforscooters.com
Torque specs:
Exhaust studs 10 N-m (7.3 ft-lb, or 88.5 in-lb)
Muffler to engine bolts 20 N-m (14.6 ft-lb or 177 in-lb)
Rear wheel nut 116 N-m (85 ft-lb)
The exhaust pipe and muffler is mounted in front of the rear wheel, so you would also need to remove it if you're working on the tire or brake shoes. Laying the scooter down on it's side makes it easier to work on the exhaust, but you don't have to do it that way.

New start stop kill switch on a 150cc GY6 Chinese scooter
https://www.partsforscooters.com/260-51-Right-Handle-Switch-for-1-Inch-Bars
If you have a 1" diameter handlebar, you might have the same switch as my scooter. If you have a 7/8" diameter handlebar, you'll need a different switch.
Replacing the right handle switch is easy. Just unbolt it from the handlebar and unplug the connectors. You'll need to disconnect the throttle cable and remove the grip. The new start / stop and kill switch will bolt right up.

Drive belt replacement on a 150cc GY6 Chinese Scooter
https://www.partsforscooters.com/155-5-101-Octane-Locking-Tool
https://www.partsforscooters.com/search?keywords=835%2020%2030&page=1
All Chinese GY6 scooters use a CVT, or Continuously Variable Transmission. The drive belt lasts about 5,000 miles. You should also inspect the variator rollers and clutch when you remove the belt. You'll need a variator holder tool and an oil filter strap wrench. It's OK to remove the kick start lever and gears. The electric start is very reliable and works much better anyway.
There are many different belt sizes, so check your belt before you order a new one.
