X Plane 11 HTC Vive Pro First Look
Today was the big day all the pieces had come together X-Plane 11 native VR and Finally the HTC Vive Pro. I had pre-ordered the unit like so many others and anxiously awaited its arrival. I am sure, I am not alone in wanting increased resolution, and better definition of the X-Plane 11 cockpit displays while in virtual mode.
Setup of the HTC Vive Pro
Was just a little more complicated than the Oculus Rift setup, but not by much! It added just a few more components to the puzzle. I had spent far to many hours with the Rift and Flyinside fine tuning the adjustments looking for the best clarity with game play possible.
With the HTC Vive Pro after all the equipment was installed setup with SteamVR was a breeze. Maybe 5 minutes tops. I saw the section for updates and both of the base units and the headset had software updates to install.
My first impression was that is was a little brighter, the colors seemed to pop more sitting on the ramp in Skagway Alaska. During start up there is a part where to screen goes dark grey, you could notice the screen door mesh, but it was oh so much finer. You could see it but you really had to focus to see the holes.
