Hedgehog eats barbecue from human hands
In the evening in the forest, we caught a hedgehog, wrapped him in a towel and put him in a hammock. We wanted to feed him, but did not know what. Remembering that the hedgehog is a predator, we decided to treat him to a barbecue that we had. We were very surprised when the hedgehog, completely unafraid, began to take pieces of kebab from our hands and eat them with appetite. Having fed this hedgehog well, we let him go back to the forest. It was cute.

Bats in the house
A strange squeak was heard in the house. We thought they were chicks. We decided to examine the house and found the source of these strange squeaks. It turned out that these bats made a nest for themselves right in the wall of a wooden house. There were about 5 of them and they looked scary.

Latte coffee made by yourself
What is latte coffee? This is a layered cocktail consisting of ready-made espresso, hot milk and thick foam. Indeed, the name - latte coffee - reflects the essence of the tricolor drink itself, on the spectacular appearance of which, in fact, coffee lovers peck. The taste qualities of such a miracle are in no way inferior to its appearance.

Cat and scotch tape in slow motion
The best way to wean a cat from walking on the table is to put the adhesive tape there with the sticky side up. Having paws once on adhesive tape, the cat will no longer want to run where it is not supposed to. This is the simplest and fastest way to painlessly explain to a cat that he cannot be climbed everywhere. This method has been tested more than once, so I assure you that it will definitely work and your cat will forget the way to the prohibited territory. Moreover, it looks very funny.

Healing nature during a pandemic: the appearance of a heron in a city ditch
Probably, everyone has already seen dozens of news about the improvement of the environmental situation in the world after the introduction of strict quarantine measures during the coronavirus pandemic. They write about reducing harmful emissions, the level of pollution of air and water bodies - and this is so, since in many countries production and automobile traffic have significantly decreased. Recently, jokes have spread in social networks about various things that are returning to the “natural habitat” due to the coronavirus. Allegedly, universal isolation led to the fact that nature began to heal from human intervention and take its own. At first, I was also skeptical of this. But today I accidentally noticed a heron in a city ditch, which leisurely moved around and caught frogs. This really struck me as meeting a heron in our country is extremely unlikely even in the wild. In addition, it is listed in the Red List of Threatened Species . And here she calmly walks through the water looking for frogs to feast on them. It really impressed me.

Giant Predaceous Diving Beetle attacks fish
This natural behavior of Predaceous diving beetles in the nature of which I was able to make the video at home. Fierce predators, these beetles do not hesitate to attack prey larger then themselves, including small fish, tadpoles and frogs. Predaceous diving beetle, (family Dytiscidae), also called diving beetle, or true water beetle, any of more than 4,000 species of carnivorous, aquatic beetles (insect order Coleoptera) that prey on organisms ranging from other insects to fish larger than themselves. This beetles fly very well outside of
water and are attracted to lights at night. They are most active at night and can be seen moving from
one water source to another (puddles, pools, ponds, flooded roads, etc.). Walking on pool furniture
and patio sets is not unusual for the adventurous beetle.

The cat is very funny playing with the mouse
Once our cat caught a mouse, but did not eat it. He just played with her. Watching this was very funny. When the cat got tired of playing, we released the mouse into the street. I’m sure she remembered this meeting for a long time :)

Praying Mantis is hunting right on my arm.
Praying mantis feeds exclusively on live prey and behaves among peaceful six-legs insects, like a tiger devouring living beings. However, in his appearance, except for the deadly hunting tools, there is nothing to inspire concern. He doesn’t even have a lack of elegance, thanks to his thin waist, elegant delicate green color and long wings. He does not have huge jaws opening like scissors; on the contrary, his head ends with a sharp beak, as it were. Thanks to his movable neck, he can turn his head, turn it to the right and left, lower and raise it. Mantis is the only insect that can direct its gaze and look around, it has almost a physiognomy.

Praying mantis before laying eggs
The female lays between 10 and 400 eggs, depending on the species. Eggs are typically deposited in a froth mass-produced by glands in the abdomen. This froth hardens, creating a protective capsule, which together with the egg mass is called an ootheca. Depending on the species, the ootheca can be attached to a flat surface, wrapped around a plant, or even deposited in the ground. Despite the versatility and durability of the eggs, they are often preyed on, especially by several species of parasitoid wasps. In a few species, mostly ground and bark mantises in the family Tarachodidae, the mother guards the eggs.
