Toonami (2000): "Pardon Our Dust" Interstitial
Remember the days when Toonami almost ruled Cartoon Network's weekly schedules?
Here's a fun little gem I found on a tape with half of an episode of Dragon Ball Z ("He's Here" from the Cell saga) from around October 17, 2000 (judging by a couple of promos and other sources, like the Toonami Fandom wiki, and a helpful comment on the YouTube version of the larger video this was taken from). This is part of a longer commercial break that you can see here: https://rumble.com/v2za2he-cartoon-networktoonami-dragon-ball-z-hes-here-break-2-air-date-october-17-2.html , and when I saw this bit at the beginning of that break, I thought I should upload it separately as well for the fun of it.
It's called "Pardon Our Dust," and it's a music video that Toonami premiered in 2000.
It shows a bunch of action sequences from some of the shows Toonami was running at the time, such as Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Wing, one of them looks like either Knights of the Zodiac (or Saint Seiya, if you prefer) or Ronin Warriors (what was it called in Japanese, again?), and I wouldn't be surprised if one or two bits (specifically the 3D CGI ones) are from The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest.
If the audio sounds a bit off, it's because I had to boost it when I digitized it. For some reason, the audio on a few of these tapes was either really quiet or nonexistent altogether.
If you like this, I have both the middle commercial break and the break at the end, between the end of this episode of DBZ and the start of an episode of Gundam Wing (where the recording cuts off; take that however you will) on my channel as well. This is about as late as I like to go with commercials like these (I aim more for '80s and '90s promos, even though I do like these for the nostalgia factor), though.
I'll keep uploading more of these commercials as I go through the box of tapes I have. The older they are, the more of a chance there'll be of me digitizing and uploading the commercials.

Cartoon Network/Toonami: Dragon Ball Z - "He's Here" Post-Credits Break (Air date: October 17, 2000)
Here's the second of two complete breaks from a random episode of Dragon Ball Z on Cartoon Network's Toonami block (ahhhh... for the days when Toonami was on weekday afternoons, and sometimes elsewhere) from around October 17, 2000 (judging by a couple of promos and other sources, like the Toonami Fandom wiki, and a helpful comment from katyhayhurst7806 on YouTube), after the end credits and before the start of the next show, which was an episode of Gundam Wing (which, unfortunately, was cut off after the first two minutes). The date is approximate, and this was a random gem I came across from a VHS tape in a box of others that I got from my aunt and uncle, and I have no idea where they got it from (all I know is that they lived in the same area as I do).
If you've been looking through any of my other commercial uploads, you'll probably notice how commercial breaks got longer as the years went on. Take a look at how long this break is, compared to the ones from my Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes... (those are two minutes long!)
Anyone else miss when we used to see full credit sequences, commercials and THEN the next show, rather than credit crunching right up to the start of the next show? Pardon me, millennial having a moment...
Commercials in this block:
0:00-0:09 Toonami promo - End of Dragon Ball Z ["Gundam Wing is next."]
0:09-1:09 Cartoon Cartoon Weeknights - DJ-style Schedule Change (sounds like Tom Kenny doing the voice over) ["The lineup... has ch-ch-changed."]
1:09-1:24 Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookies - Kid Playing Basketball ["There's something we can do... bakin' cookies, me and you..."]
1:24-1:40 Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX on PlayStation, Game Boy Color (yeah) and Dreamcast ["I've broken a lot of bones learning tricks like these."]
1:40-2:10 The Powerpuff Girls Talking Action Dolls - With Eye Laser Action! ["Bad guys, brace yourselves for a blackout!"]
2:10-2:39 Barbie Volkswagen New Beetle ["Take a spin, riding in styyyyyle..."]
2:39-3:10 Dragonfly RC Car from Toymax ["Only one RC has the X-Tech wings!"]

3:32-3:40 Burger King - Scooby-Doo Sweepstakes (Ah, the Big Kids Meal!)
3:40-4:10 Toonami - Tenchi Muyo! promo ["These days, it's a little more... chaotic."]
4:10-4:41 Toonami - Gundam Wing intro ["Something about the battle excites people's emotions."]
I've also been able to get a complete break from an episode of Sailor Moon from a couple of years earlier (it's from the Moltar era), that I'm hoping to upload at some point. If I come across any other tapes that have Toonami shows with however close I can get to full breaks on them, I'll consider digitizing them.
(Caption note: the Gundam Wing intro at the end was a pain in the neck to try and figure out the dialogue, so if your ears work better than mine, I'll happily edit them. A bit of credit goes to the Toonami Fandom wiki for the names of the songs featured in the "end of DBZ", Tenchi Muyo! promo, and the "Gundam Wing intro" sequences, and I'm amazed some were able to figure out the names and artists of Toonami's background music from the '90s and 2000s.)

Here's the first of two complete breaks from a random episode of Dragon Ball Z on Cartoon Network's Toonami block (ahhhh... for the days when Toonami was on weekday afternoons, and sometimes elsewhere) from what looks to be October 17, 2000 (judging by a couple of promos and other sources, like the Toonami Fandom wiki, and a helpful comment from katyhayhurst7806 on YouTube -- thanks again!). The air date is approximate, and this was a random gem I came across from a VHS tape in a box of others that I got from my aunt and uncle, and I have no idea where they got it from (all I know is that they lived in the same area as I do).
If you've been looking through any of my other commercial uploads, you'll probably notice how commercial breaks got longer as the years went on. Take a look at how long this break is, compared to the ones from my Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes... (those are two minutes long!)

4:54-5:03 Toonami break bumper ["And now, back to Dragon Ball Z."]
I've got another break from this same episode (the one at the end of this episode that leads into the start of a Gundam Wing episode that came later) already uploaded, and I've also been able to get a complete break from an episode of Sailor Moon from a couple of years earlier, that I'm hoping to upload at some point.

WMGC 34: Star Trek: TNG - "Imaginary Friend" Break 6 of 6 (Air date: May 9, 1992)
Here's the entire final commercial break from an original airing of Star Trek: The Next Generation, season five episode "Imaginary Friend", on the local ABC affiliate in my area (WMGC-TV channel 34, now WIVT).
The air date is approximate and this was in a box of tapes that I received from my aunt and uncle, and I can't remember where they got it from. I'll be uploading other commercial breaks from the many tapes in this collection (and probably more) as I go through them. One of the things that made it easier for me to guess the air date was the promo for the next episode, which is the last commercial in this set. WMGC was apparently playing each episode in sequence back then.
I might end up putting all of the breaks in this episode together later on, for the fun of it. And some fairly impressive 3D CGI in the Listerine commercial.
List of commercials in this block:
0:00-0:30 Listerine antiseptic mouthwash ("Its conquests are legend: germ killer, plaque slayer...")
0:30-0:45 Vivarin ("Better 'revive with Vivarin'!")
0:45-1:00 Reese's Crunchy Peanut Butter Cups ("Have we gone too far...?")
1:00-1:31 McDonald's Big Mac Jr. ("How about a low price?")
1:31-2:01 Snapple with Ritchie Sambora ("I'm just a straaaanger... I'm a stranger in this toooooown~...")
2:01-2:32 Star Trek:TNG promo for the next episode (which would be "I, Borg")

WMGC 34: Star Trek: TNG - "Imaginary Friend" Break 5 of 6 (Air date: May 9, 1992)

The air date is approximate and this was in a box of tapes that I received from my aunt and uncle, and I can't remember where they got it from.
I might end up putting all of the breaks together later on, for the fun of it. But some of these are pretty cool...except the Pizza Hut commercial (at 1:00); that one's the most ridiculous in the set.
List of commercials in this block:
0:00-0:30 Miller Genuine Draft Light ("There's nothing typical about it.")
0:30-1:00 Oscar Mayer Healthy Favorites Turkey Breast ("Healthy. A lot of foods are wearing that name.")
1:00-1:30 Pizza Hut ("What happens when you add 25% more meat toppings to a Pizza Hut Meat Lover's pizza?")

WMGC 34: Star Trek: TNG - "Imaginary Friend" Break 4 of 6 (Air date: May 9, 1992)

The air date is approximate and this was in a box of tapes that I received from my aunt and uncle, and I can't remember where they got it from. I'll be uploading other commercial breaks from the many tapes in this collection (and probably more) as I go through them.
I might end up putting all of the breaks in this episode together later on, for the fun of it. Shout out to Ames, as I'm probably not the only one who misses bargains by the bagful.
List of commercials in this block:
0:00-0:30 Tropicana Pure Premium Orange Juice ("No other major brand comes closer to this...")
0:30-0:45 Ban Fresh and Dry ("...a whole new way to keep that 'shower fresh' feeling all day.")
0:45-1:00 Nuprin with Jimmy Connors ("'Nupe it' with Nuprin: The Body Pain Medicine.")
1:00-1:30 The Ames Mother's Day Sale ("If everybody's gone this weekend, don't panic...")
1:30-2:00 Diet Pepsi with Ray Charles ("It's got that special uh-huh ingredient.")

WMGC 34: Star Trek: TNG - "Imaginary Friend" Break 2 of 6 (Air date: May 9, 1992)
Here's the entire second commercial break from an original airing of Star Trek: The Next Generation, season five episode "Imaginary Friend", on the local ABC affiliate in my area (WMGC-TV channel 34, now WIVT).
The air date is approximate and this was in a box of tapes that I received from my aunt and uncle, and I can't remember where they got it from. I'll be uploading other commercial breaks from the many tapes in this collection (and probably more) as I go through them.

WMGC 34: Star Trek: TNG - "Imaginary Friend" Break 1 of 6 (Air date: May 9, 1992)
Here's the entire first commercial break from an original airing of Star Trek: The Next Generation, season five episode "Imaginary Friend", on the local ABC affiliate in my area (WMGC-TV channel 34, now WIVT).
And it's a delicious set of commercials, as you'll see for yourself. Strangely, I feel like I have very faint memories of seeing that Coors Light gigantic can display in a store when I was younger...
List of commercials in this block:
0:00-0:30 Coors Light "Talking Can Sweepstakes" ("Hey, I'd have opened it anyway!")
0:30-0:45 Discover Card ("Don't get hit by an annual fee!")
