Creating Artistic Masterpieces: Wong Kar Wai Inspired Portrait Tutorial (using Ai)
In this video we’ll create a portrait from an Asian Cinema scene, inspired why the films of Wong Kar Wai. The cinematography in Wong’s films is gorgeous and aids in the mood and storytelling. Even though I haven’t sen all of his films, I’ve seen most- and they’re just visually stunning.
We’ll use a combination of Photoshop Beta with Generative Ai to create a Hong Kong Alley, and Evoto Ai for the portrait retouching.

Stop Wasting Money On Gear: Here’s What You Need To Make Your Clients Love you!!
Everyone these days makes the “Gear Doesn’t Matter” Video. Here’s my take on this subject.
Rather than constantly updating your equipment to the latest and greatest (and likely the most expensive) equipment, here we’ll talk about what’s way more important- Your clients!
I know, I know- you love your toys! I do too! But, hear me out!
With Boudoir photography, the client experience is far more important than the gear you use. Please watch the video to see what I mean.

Photographers- Stop Asking For Camera Settings! (Why My Settings Shouldn't Matter To You!)
Photographers: Stop asking for camera settings!! This video explains why my camera setting shouldn’t matter to you! The reason is simple! It’s the lighting you should be asking about!
In here, we discuss why size, power, distance and angle of light matters first, and it’s far more important than F-Stops and ISO.

BTS- A Whole Boudoir Session with a $99 Lens (and simple lighting)
In this video you’ll see how I used simple constant lighting, and especially the $99 TT Artisans 23mm F 1.4 manual focus lens for Fujifilm X-Mount, to create a gorgeous Boudoir Photo Session.
For this shoot the lens is mounted on a Fuji X-T4, and was never changed out for another lens. In a past video I showed a punk and grunge inspired fashion shoot using this lens and camera combination. This time you'll see an entire Boudoir shoot- 7 different setups, and much of it is in real-time.

Would You Use A $99 Lens?
I recently purchased the TT Artisans 23mm 1.4 manual focus lens for Fuji X Mount. I wanted a vintage lens feel, and I got exactly what I was looking for.
This session took place at Cinema Makeup School in Los Angeles. The theme of the shoot was old punk or grunge style band photos for the students Advanced Beauty Theory Class final portfolio shoot.

Boudoir BTS with Katya
This video is a segment from my recent session with Katya (IG below) where we simulated afternoon light coming through Venetian blinds. I used a Godox Optical Snoot with blinds gobo on an AD 300 Pro flash head. The light coming through the window was actually minimal compared to the flash head. So, it barely acted as fill light.
This video and sound was captured on DJI Action 2, and the images on Fuji X-T4. Images shown during the course of the session were straight out of camera. Finished images in B&W are at the end of the video.

Boudoir BTS- Red Heels/Red Convertible
Finished images are throughout this video. Behind the Scenes with Lynn Cao, her red heels, and my convertible. This is my 2nd session with Lynn. She's a gifted actress and can literally put on any character I need, from cute and sweet to mysterious, tough or sexy.
You can do this in a convertible, a classic car (or an old pick-up truck. The bottom line? Sometimes it's fun to step outside the studio, and get the creative juices flowing.
Images for this set were captured on Fuji X-T5, for the main camera, and supplemental images were captured on Fuji X100V for a fun, retro snapshot look. Shot entirely in or underground parking structure.
Look for more videos with Lynn, coming over the next few weeks!
