LA House debate on HB762

LA State Rep Larry Bagley’s proposed bill to prohibit discrimination based on vaccination status came with a shocking introduction. The bill has been deferred while several members work to re-write the bill so that it better fulfills its intended purpose.

12/6/21 The Louisiana Department of Health proposed a rule change to include the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of K-12 required vaccines. An illness must be "vaccine-preventable" according to statute to add the vaccine to the required list. At the House Health and Welfare oversight hearing, Louisiana State Health Officer Dr. Joseph Kanter explains how "no vaccine is 100% effective 100% of the time.
