Typical mornings in my van. Waking up to 2 doggies cuddled up on the couch to wake up cuddles. Cleaning the floor before prepping food for the dogs and then after a little rest going for their morning walks. The diff still is an ongoing subject and since it's been pissing down pots and pans these last couple of days, we had no chance on continuing the project. But I'll let you know the updates so far. As I did talk about the differential problem a lot in the last 2 to 3 videos, we now have a success moment. We connected all the shims and pieces together and finally received an acceptable pattern. This was the best feeling ever! I can finally roll with this van again. The short and smooth test drive was like having a new diff. No sounds no squieking or howling like we had before. Absolutely amazing! Lots of people suggest to just buy a new axel with the diff preinstalled and good to go, but we have been too far into the process already to just buy a new one. So it took way longer than planned, but luckily it is a happy ending. We moved to the next stop over. It was a pretty warm day and I still have to figure out if they are fine with driving every day. I have been standing level for the first time in forever! I couldn't stand drinking the tap water anymore, and the water in the van was undrinkable anyways due to the soily smell, and therefore bad taste. I done some exessive research on what waterfilters I can get and ended up with zerowater. Here is my review. Unfortunately I still don't pay attention in what format I film.. We had it last winter and we have it this winter again... I don't think anyone gets around it in van life. The last time the mold started under the sink which is the farthest away from the log burner and so it did this time. When this happened I removed the cupboard doors so there is more air flow and this really helped so far. I will put them back on when the weather is warmer again. The new spot was this time the couch frame. Since I have not been able to varnish over the painted areas, those started molding. The video shows how I cleaned it all up, half with bleach, half with warm water. After this my breathing issues dissappeared-luckily! What else needs to happen on top of freezing cold temperatures in the van?! Of course the power running out.. When it's super cloudy or even raining there is either 0 charge or round about 3 Watt coming in. Which in comparison we use about 30 Watt a night roughly. So within a week of no charge the power is going down very quickly. Just after christmas 2022 it happend. Since we have AGM batteries we can only run them half down and not completely empty, therefore the 61% on the display. Now an update as of 20th Jan. 23- the batteries have been fully charged again. We had some sunny days and it took around 3 weeks for them to be charged up again. In the meantime we were able to roll out the cable from the house and charge phones, laptop and have a little lamp on that way. That was a big help since the batteries of the torches ran out super quick every day. First of all I only realized when I uploaded the video that I filmed it in the wrong format... The next 2 videos are the same format.. I know it's stupid but it is what it is now.. I will remember filming in the correct format from now on. The winter is still ongoing and it's still super cold but at least this week as I'm uploading the video end of January 23 it's no frost right now, which is a big bonus. It was a tough December and January and I will remember it for a long time. No diesel heater, only a log burner, no insulation, when it's 3 degrees outside it's around 0degrees in the van. Since I only have 3 round boat windows to get some light in, it's constantly super dark and I either have to open the door to let more light in (which means basically sitting outside..) or have the lights on, which for a while didnt work, because we ran out of power. Video starts at 01:50 if you dont wanna watch me cleaning the inside of the log burner :) I just wanted to do a quick review and demonstration of the log burner fan, since this is a great addition for people like us who have their log burner high up in their vans. Hot air is rising so since the log burner is on the work top all the hot air was rising into the bed area and it was unbelievably hot up there and on the couch or floor it was freezing cold. So the upgrade to the fan was well worth the investment.

Unfortunately lifting the mattress up with timber didnt work for this situation so I needed to find a different solution. The bed was too tall and heavy anyways- comfy but bulky.. In this video I'll show you the solution I found best suited for the situation.

The day has come that I've been finally able to fix the dripping roof window! It was in a horrible state after such a short amount of time. Mold was building up on the osb sheet and we had a down pour rainfall every morning after the freezing temperatures started to rise above 0 degrees. Since there is no insulation under the ceiling the moisture builds up into little rivers and runs down to the left of the van into the gap of the window and from there drips down onto the couch.. The only reason why it's doing it is because the log burner is warm in the evening and cools down during the night. Therefore lots of moisture can build up. Anyways, I've finally got to buy some insulation and at the same time while fixing the moisture problem got to clean the cowl and flashing kit and fix it in place properly since there was a small water leak as well! We got heat in the van! A hell of a lot of research and checking for the cheapest and durable option the parts are here and installed! This is how we installed the logburner in the box van. A couple of adjustments still need to be made but at least it's up and running :)

It's been a rediculous long time that I didn't upload anything. It's been a long year and roller coaster ride... But more on that later.
