What is fitness?

The physical fitness definition is the ability to perform daily tasks with ease, without becoming tired, and with extra energy to enjoy leisure-time activities such as hobbies and extra daily tasks. Physical fitness is when a person can execute daily activities with maximum performance, endurance, and strength. A person that is physically fit can also manage some health-related diseases, exhaustion, and undue stress.

Having good physical health can prevent some conditions.

Exercise can change body composition with physical fitness.

Athlete's hearts show certain changes based on their preferred sport.

Muscle strength can increase substantially.

Stretching to enhance muscle flexibility can limit injuries due to physical activity.

Types of Fitness:

There are three types of fitness. To be considered physically fit, all three areas of physical fitness must be strengthened. The three types of fitness are aerobic, muscle strengthening, and flexibility. Understanding the difference in the types of fitness will assist in setting personal health goals. Achieving a healthy balance of all three types of fitness is vital to being physically fit. Aerobic fitness: Aerobic fitness exercises are those that strengthen both the heart and the lungs. The intention of beneficial aerobic exercises is to increase the amount of oxygen that is supplied to the body's muscles. Any aerobic exercise includes activities that raise the heart rate and keep it elevated for a period of time, usually twenty minutes or longer. Muscle Strengthening: Stronger muscles can mean two different things. Being able to lift heavier amounts or having higher endurance for lifting. The endurance definition is the ability to remain active for long periods of time. Exercises that can increase muscle strength involve weight lifting, resistance training, or basic exercises such as push-ups. Flexibility: How far a muscle group can be stretched or a joint can be moved without pain or injury. Increased flexibility is achieved by stretching the muscles in the body.
