Betelgeuse as a possible Supernova and the Late-June night sky
Does the Brightening of Betelgeuse Portend The Immanent Occurrence of a New Galactic Supernova?
Betelgeuse is at it again. Back in 2019, the red supergiant star, the bright and iconic right-shoulder of Orion had dimmed dramatically and uncharacteristically resulting in a flurry of speculation that the star was about to end its life in spectacular fashion as a Type-II supernova. That didn’t happen. It was later determined that the star had sustained a large-mass ejection, partially eclipsing the star, thus reducing its apparent brightness. Fierce stellar winds and large-scale mass ejections are consistent with the behavior of high-mass stars nearing the end of their lives.
Dr. James Daly takes us on a brief tour of the late-June night sky, centered on this year's summer solstice, June 21, 2023. In our tour, Dr. Daly discusses why it would be almost impossible to observe Betelgeuse now if it were to go supernova in the next 2 or 3 months. The night-sky tour is followed by a discussion of the recent, unexpected and uncharacteristic brightening of Betelgeuse, a brief treatise on stellar evolution and why some stars and not others explode as such.
Finally, Dr. Daly takes us on a brief journey to a hypothetical solar system where Betelgeuse has replaced the sun at the center.

104th Anniversary of Einstein’s Great Triumph, May 29th, 1919
In this video, Dr. James Daly celebrates and discusses the Centenary of the first of many confirmations of Einstein's Theory of Gravity, his General Theory of Relativity.
On 29 May, 1919, observations were made of stars in the vicinity of the totally-eclipsed sun, a rare event that provided the conditions necessary for such an experiment to be conducted and thus, from the observations of those stars' changing positions, the predictions of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity were confirmed.

Stunning JWST Image Suggests Rapidly Rotating Black Hole - Part 1 of 3
This is part 1 of a 3 part series.
On July 12, NASA, along with representatives of the European and Canadian space agencies, partners in the mission, unveiled the results of 5 separate studies, images and data with a high “wow” value! The images released were impressive, with detail and resolution exceeding expectations, not just from the engineers and mission support specialists who have worked since Christmas of last year commissioning the telescope, but from all.
We will present and discuss the August 13th observation of the Barred-Spiral Galaxy NGC-1365 that was part of the Early Release Observation program.
Further, we obtained the image data directly from the JWST data repository at the Space Telescope Science Institute and processed it using PixInsight and GIMP. In our full-featured article

Spectacular Solar Flare Captured by Solar Dynamics Observatory in Full HD
We were reminded of the enormous power of our home star on November 29 of last year (2020), when NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded a powerful Solar Flare, entitled the 'Anemone' Eruption'!In this video, Dr. James Daly presents and discusses our sun and the spectacular display witnessed on November 29, 2020.
This video has been remastered and produced in full HD with extra content.
Using data, video and images from the Solar Dynamics Observatory, Dr. Daly stitches together images and video from the latest solar eruption in this solar cycle.In a variety of composite videos obtained in the Ultraviolet part of the spectrum, we witness the sun's awesome power in full view.
The eruption was nicknamed named 'Anemone' since the apparent shape and behavior of the super-heated gas jets and filaments are “shimmering” as were, like an 'Anemone'. The Solar Dynamics Observatory is a space-born solar observatory that has been on orbit since February 11, 2010, continuously recording the sun in 10 different wavebands and was the first mission launched in the agency’s “Living With a Star (LWS) Program”, a program designed to understand the causes of solar variability and its impacts on Earth.
In addition to describing the flare, Dr. Daly discusses the internal dynamics of the sun and how the Solar Dynamics Observatory is a valuable asset in the ongoing study of our home star. He also goes on to describe some of the science history and how the sun has directly effected our life and society here on earth. Of particular interest here is the Carrington Event, the 1859 solar outburst and subsequent geomagnetic storm that caused widespread disruptions in the nascent power grid and was manifest in brilliant auroral displays.

James Webb Space Telescope Deep Field Confirms Evolutionary Theories of The Early Universe - Part 2
Some important discoveries and confirmations have been realized with the first public release of JWST data and imagery. We can unequivocally state that our evolutionary theories of the early universe have been confirmed! Using NIRSpec data, this video will present this confirmation, one that was not discussed but yet was hiding in plain sight!
We modify published NASA graphics, highlighting spectroscopic features of iron already included but not highlighted or discussed by the authors. We comment on the relevance of these features coupled with the spectral features already highlighted, to unequivocally show how heavy-element nucleosynthesis was shaping the early universe. This is something that has long been postulated but we now have clear and compelling evidence that it did, in fact, occur!
