Description

Before entering politics, Imran Khan was a prominent cricketer and captained the Pakistan cricket team from 1982 to 1992. He led the team to victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup, which is still regarded as Pakistan's greatest sporting achievement. In 1996, Khan founded the PTI, which initially struggled to gain traction in Pakistan's political landscape. However, the party gradually gained popularity, and in the 2018 general elections, PTI won a majority of seats in the National Assembly, paving the way for Khan to become the Prime Minister of Pakistan. As Prime Minister, Khan has pursued an agenda of economic and social reform in Pakistan, with a focus on improving governance, reducing corruption, and expanding access to healthcare and education. He has also pursued a more assertive foreign policy, particularly in relation to India and Afghanistan.
