LB- Carmen Ledding- Into into Understanding Grief and Loss
With Christmas around the corner the discussion of loss is much needed.
Today we will be joined by Carmen Ledding to discuss our Course "Understanding Grief and Loss"
Every person will experience grief and loss – a profound sense of final separation from something or someone important. Grief is a normal and appropriate reaction to the death of a loved one, the experience of separation/divorce, intergenerational loss, or the loss of opportunity. While there are similarities in how individuals work through loss, grief is a complicated and unique experience that requires us to understand our own grieving process. This course is designed to increase our awareness of the dynamics of grief, and to provide tools and strategies to best support someone who is grieving and ourselves

Introduction to TeensTalk
Description: Journey through Pam’s experience supporting her daughter during a severe mental health crisis that began in August of 2022 and lasted 10 months. One that resulted in a dozen hospital admissions, 90+ days in the Child & Youth psychiatric unit, flying outside the country to seek specified help and how this experience fueled the creation of TeensTalk YXE. Pam & Taryn could not find the supports they needed during their crisis – so they decided to share their story and build a safe community for youth and their caregivers

LB-Kids and Stress- Danielle Cameron
Kids & Stress is a one-and-a-half-hour-long course designed to help children manage stress. The class discusses some of the many significant stressful life events kids may go through. Bullying, pressure from school, or significant worldly news events can take center stage in a young mind causing distress, anxiety, or anger. We’ll discuss how to talk about these events and explore ways to help reduce a child’s stress level. We’ll practice some of these techniques, and for those who want to follow along, we have a short crafting session near the end of the class (registrants will receive a supply list in their registration email).
This short but informative session would be helpful for parents of young kids and those who work with small children

Introduction to Better Together Tees.
In early 2018, the Battlefords faced eight suicides in seven weeks. The losses deeply impacted our community and connected the hearts of Allysa and Deb. Together, they healed by creating the Better Together T-shirt Project. Their vision was to connect generations by having them wear and share the message "We truly are Better Together. Connected communities are healthy communities." Community members wore Better Together t-shirts looking for logo matches on Tuesdays. The project began with 300 students and seniors and has expanded to over 38,000 shirts worn across the country. The outcomes of these connections are: mutual understanding, improved feelings of well-being, decreased loneliness, satisfaction from sharing knowledge and experience, and enhanced social cohesion.
