Do not fear death
Musashi’s 17th Principle of the Dokkodo is “Do not fear death” in the Book of 5 Rings he says, “Generally speaking, the Way of the Warrior is resolute acceptance of death.” I provide my thoughts sparked by his words on the matter of death. Death is natural and inevitable, it is neither good nor bad, what makes a death good or bad is the manner of life we lived before we die, and how we die.

Why Musashi and Nietzsche hated resentfulness
Musashi and Nietzsche on why it isn’t good to be resentful of others. Ressentiment is the hatred one harbors towards another who they envy do to having or being able to do things the resentful individual cannot. While it is easy to complain about our lack of success and blame it on others, even if it’s true, it won’t change anything. Only we can change our lives for the better. It is better to be a Warrior rather than a Victim.
