Tour & Review of Beragarh: Special Episode Bera | Travel Vlogs
Years ago we came across several documentaries on the Leopards of Bera and we were in awe of the place. One man "Thakur Devi Singhji" and his relationship with Zara the leopard was instrumental in cementing the curiosity which led us to Bera.
Meeting him was an honour and by chance, it seemed like we were destined to meet the man, it just so happened that the resort we were living in belonged to him, so we couldn't afford to miss the chance to meet the legend who was instrumental in conserving the leopards in Bera.
We will also take you on a royal tour of Beragarh which is a 400 year old heritage property now open for visitors. Its tastefully done interiors and spacious rooms with all built in facilities makes it an ideal place to stay. The family looks after all your needs with utmost care which ensures that you have a great experience.
This is not a paid promotion, our experience was so remarkable that we ended up making this video as a tribute to Thakurji and his family.
Hope you enjoy this special episode and our candid conversation with Thakur Devi Singhji.

Jawai Dam and Bera leopard sightings in all 3 safaris | Episode 8
If you watched our previous episode of Bera you would have witnessed how we were lucky to spot a Leopard on our first Jeep safari the moment we reached the jungle spot. So most of you might be wondering, does Bera guarantee 100% leopard sightings? Well from our experience Yes, as we went for nearly 4 safaris and managed to see them in three.
Bera has a high density of leopards that are commonly seen resting in the natural crevices and caves of the Aravali hills. There are approximately 50-70 leopards in 20 square kilometers of land.
Not very far away is Jawai Dam, this dam covers an area of 13 kms. This is the biggest man made dam in western Rajasthan and is the main water supply source for Pali district. Jawai dam is also known for its large crocodile population, as of 2020 there were 377 crocodiles in Jawai Dam. For many years Jawai has been preserving flora and fauna in this region.
We explored some of the most remote locations and took an entire tour of the villages witnessing their lifestyles and way of living. We experienced some of the most breathtaking views of Jawai and Bera and enjoyed some of the most authentic and unique dishes of Rajasthan.
From wildlife enthusiasts to nature lovers, if you are seeking that adventure away from the crowded cities, Bera is the place for you.

Exploring Bera the Leopard capital of India | Episode 7
Welcome to Bera, one of our most memorable destinations. Bera is a small village located in the Pali district of Rajasthan, India. It is situated in the Aravalli Range and is surrounded by forested hills, rocky terrain, and agricultural fields. Bera is known for its thriving leopard population and it is one of the best places in India to see leopards in the wild. The region's rugged terrain and dense forests provide an ideal habitat for these animals.
The leopards in Bera are not part of any protected area or national park, they roam freely in the surrounding countryside. The villagers of Bera have lived in harmony with the leopards for generations, and as a result, the leopards are not hostile towards humans. In fact, the villagers consider them to be a part of their family.
The area is also home to other wildlife such as hyenas, foxes, jackals, and various species of birds. The best time to visit Bera for leopard sightings is between October and March when the weather is pleasant, and the chances of spotting a leopard are high.
Our day started early as we were eager to catch a glimpse of the leopards. Safaris are conducted in open jeep in the early morning and late evening hours when the leopards are most active. The local guides are very experienced and have a deep knowledge of the area and its wildlife. They can identify the leopards by their spot patterns and behaviour and they are skilled at finding them even in the dense forest.
In this episode, which was our first day in Bera, we were lucky to spot a leopard in our very first safari. Well watch the video to witness the excitement and thrill of driving through Bera's jungle routes.
We will also give you a quick tour of the place we were living in which is " Leopards Lair " as choosing a comfortable accommodation is important as you tend to spend some time indoors. Bera has a few accommodation options such as camps, home-stays and resorts that offer a comfortable stay for visitors. The villagers also offer guided jeep safaris and trekking expeditions to the nearby hills.
To summarize, our first day in Bera was both thrilling and relaxing. Don't forget to watch our next videos where we take you to some of the most remote locations in Bera .

Exploring Jodhpur: The Blue City of India | Episode 5
If you are planning to visit Jodhpur you are in for a treat. In this video we will take you through a casual tour of some of the best places which you could cover in a day. Jodhpur is full of history, culture, and stunning architecture and the old town is where you find the true magic. Considering the old city has narrow lanes and bylanes the most convenient way is to explore the city by hiring a bike or on foot, well we chose the bike as it would allow us to cover more places and navigate through the city traffic.
Our first place of visit was
1) Ghanta Ghar: Also known as the Clock Tower of Jodhpur, is a popular landmark in the heart of the city. It's a beautiful monument that dates back to 1911 and serves as a gateway to the vibrant market area where you can find everything from spices and handicrafts to clothing and jewellery. It's a great place to experience the local culture and do some shopping.
2) Mehrangarh Fort is one of the most iconic landmarks in Jodhpur. The Fort covers an area of 1,200 acres This massive fort sits atop a hill and offers panoramic views of the city. Inside the fort, you'll find a museum that houses a collection of weapons, costumes, and artifacts from the region's history.
3) Toorji ka Jalra is a stepwell that was built in the 18th century. It's a stunning example of Rajasthani architecture and engineering. The stepwell has a series of narrow steps that lead down to the water, and the walls are covered in intricate carvings and designs. Amazing place to spend an evening watching people jump into the well for a dip and have fun.
4) Jaswant Thada is a magnificent white marble cenotaph. The cenotaph is an architectural masterpiece that features intricately carved marble domes and pillars, all made from white marble. It's located just a short distance from the Mehrangarh Fort and offers stunning views of the city below. Jaswant Thada is set in a picturesque location amidst well-manicured gardens and a small lake. The intricate carvings and detailed craftsmanship of the marble are truly breathtaking. Whether you're a history buff, architecture enthusiast, or simply looking for a peaceful place to relax, Jaswant Thada is sure to leave a lasting impression on you.
5) Kalyana Lake is a man-made lake that was built in the 1870s to provide water to the city. Today, it's a popular spot for boating and picnicking. You can also take a walk around the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
A visit to Kalyana Lake is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and connect with nature. It's a beautiful spot to spend a peaceful afternoon and soak in the natural beauty of Jodhpur.
All this touring would be incomplete without visiting the infamous Chaturbhuj Rameshchand sweet shop which serves the worlds best gulab jamun and trying out some local delicacies both sweet and spicy.
All in all from stunning architecture to the beautiful lakes, there's something here for everyone which makes Jodhpur a must visit place.

Exploring Pokhran’s Stunning Salt Lake | Travel Vlog | Episode 4
Exploring Pokhran’s Stunning Salt Lake | Episode 4
In this video, we will take you on a journey to explore the mesmerizing beauty of the Pokhran Salt Lake. You will witness the stark contrast between the white desert and the surrounding barren hills and marvel at the stunning patterns created by the salt crystals. Pokhran Salt lake is a lesser-known tourist spot tucked away in the heart of Rajasthan.
The Pokhran Salt Lake is a vast expanse of dazzling white salt crystals that stretches as far as the eye can see. This unique landscape, also known as the White Desert, is a photographer's paradise and a haven for adventure seekers.
Just after monsoon and during winter months the usually dry and hard-packed salt flats can look deceiving from the outside however are really soft and slushy making it nearly impossible to drive through. With no help in sight and no cell phone reception help can take a while to arrive. Hence ensure that you test the terrain before you venture out.
We were fortunate enough to meet a local gentleman who guided us to the salt lake and shared valuable information about the place. We were invited for lunch at his residence and had the privilege of tasting one of the most authentic and delicious home foods made with locally grown vegetables.
The Pokhran salt lake is very underrated, from their very warm & hospitable people to delicious food and beautiful landscape, this place should be on everyone's list to stop by when visiting Jaisalmer.
The salt flats were one of the main highlights of our trip, join us as we recount our unforgettable experience.

Sam Sandunes Fun and Adventure in the Thar Desert | Episode 3 #part 2
In our last video you saw our journey from Tanot Mata Mandir to Longewala border, this video is a continuation of our drive from Longewala to Sam Sandunes.
We were ready for some adventure for the evening and what an evening it was !
Post checking in to our accommodation and after some refreshments we were headed in a Jeep safari for a dune bashing at Khuri desert. Khuri Desert offers a variety of adventure sports for thrill-seekers looking for an adrenaline rush in the heart of the Thar Desert. One of the most popular adventure sports is dune bashing. This involves driving an off-road vehicle over the sand dunes, with the aim of testing your driving skills while enjoying the bumpy ride. The experience of bouncing over the sand dunes is sure to get your heart racing, and is a great way to enjoy the desert landscape from a different perspective.
Another popular adventure sport at Khuri Desert is quad biking. Quad biking is a great way to get up close and personal with the desert landscape. For those looking for a more traditional desert experience, camel safaris are a great way to explore Khuri Desert. Lastly, sandboarding is another adventure sport that is gaining popularity in Khuri Desert. This involves standing on a board and riding down the sand dunes.
Overall, Khuri Desert provides a variety of options to choose from, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Sam Sandunes are known for their tall, undulating shapes and are a favorite spot for tourists to enjoy sunset and sunrise views. The sand here is very clean and remains unadulterated as vehicles are not allowed in this region.
After all that adrenaline rush we ended our day by enjoying some rajasthani folk dance and songs sung by locals at our resort, a very delicious traditional dinner and a night walk towards Sam sand dunes where we could literally count the stars, a rare phenomenon in crowded cities.
Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or simply a change of scenery, the desert has something for everyone.

Tanot Mata Mandir and Longewala Border | Travel Vlog | Episode 3 #part 1
Tanot Mata Mandir and Longewala Border | Episode 3 #part 1
Ever wondered what War feels like ? Well, today we take you back in time to an era where miracles & valour, sacrifices and selfless patriotism were profound. In this episode we start our drive from Jaisalmer City to Tanot Mata Mandir and Longewala border.
The drive from Jaisalmer to Tanot Mata Mandir takes around 2-3 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions. The journey itself is a visual treat, with vast stretches of the Thar desert, sand dunes, and small villages passing by on the way.
Tanot Mata Mandir is situated near the India-Pakistan border and is 120 kms from Jaisalmer city. The temple is believed to have been protected by the goddess Tanot Mata during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. According to legend, the enemy army had dropped several bombs on the temple, but none of them exploded, and the temple remained unharmed. Today, the unexploded bombs are kept in a museum within the temple complex, and the temple is visited by thousands of devotees every year.
If you want to proceed further and see the Indo - Pakistan border you need to take your ticket from the mandir and catch the Babliyan border road which is approximately 14 kms. Carry a set of binoculars and you will be able to see the LOC clearly. We were given a brief explanation about the border by an Army personnel himself which was truly remarkable.
After getting a close-up view of the LOC we headed towards the Longewala war memorial. It is located about 17 kilometers from the Tanot Mata Temple. Longewala is known for the battle which was fought during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Back then tensions between India and Pakistan were high and war broke out between the two countries. A company of Indian soldiers stationed at the border post at Longewala came under attack from a large Pakistani tank force. The Indian soldiers were vastly outnumbered and outgunned, but they held their ground and fought off the Pakistani attack for over 12 hours. The Indian Army's victory at Longewala was a significant turning point and helped secure India's western front.
The Longewala War Memorial has been built to honor the brave soldiers who fought in the battle. The museum displays weapons, tanks, and other military equipment used in the battle. There are also several plaques and inscriptions in honor of the soldiers who fought and died in the battle. You cannot thank the Indian Armed forces enough for what they do to protect our lives & freedom.
Truly worth a visit if you visit Rajasthan. Enjoy our little trip back into history with the unique and truly spectacular desert landscape.

Epic Jaisalmer Adventure Continues! | Episode 2 #Part 2
In today's episode we are going to explore the magnificent Golden Fort, also known as Jaisalmer Fort. We will also take you to a secluded oasis known as Jaseri Talab which is just 14 kms from Kuldhara Village.
This Golden fort is made entirely of golden sandstone, giving it a distinct golden hue that glows beautifully in the sun. It was built in the 12th century and it's still one of the few living forts in the world, with a population of over 4,000 people residing within its walls.
As we enter the fort, we'll be greeted by narrow alleys, vibrant markets, and stunning architecture. There are also several historical landmarks within the fort, including the Jain Temples, Laxminath Temple, and the Raj Mahal Palace, which showcases the opulence of the Rajput era. One of the most unique features of the fort is its intricate network of water harvesting techniques, which were designed to collect and store rainwater in the desert. Today, these systems still function and provide water for the people living within the fort. Overall, the Golden Fort is a breathtakingly beautiful and culturally significant landmark that's definitely worth a visit. Proceeding on from there we visited Patton ki Haveli, Nathmal ki Haveli & Salam singh ki Haveli which are architecturally notable palaces.
Jaseri Talab is a scenic lake located near the abandoned village of Kuldhara. The lake is surrounded by sand dunes, and its serene and picturesque setting offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Legend has it that the lake was named after a sage named Jaseri who used to meditate here. The lake is fed by rainwater and groundwater, and it is also connected to the Indira Gandhi Canal, which is a major source of water for the region. The lake is home to a variety of aquatic life, including fish, turtles, and migratory birds that flock to the lake during the winter months. Its tranquil setting and natural beauty make it a perfect spot for a picnic, a boat ride, or simply to enjoy the serene surroundings.
So, if you're ever in the area, be sure to add it to your list of must-see destinations!

Bada Bagh to Kuldhara a Haunted Village | Jaisalmer City Tour | Travel vlog Episode 2 #part 1
Bada Bagh to Kuldhara a Haunted Village | Jaisalmer City Tour
This is Day 2 (Part 1 ) of our Rajasthan tour where we headed towards north of Jaisalmer city and travelled from Bada Bagh to Kuldhara.
Bada Bagh:
Bada Bagh, also known as Badabagh, is a historical site located about 6 km north of Jaisalmer city. The complex comprises several chhatris made of yellow sandstone, each dedicated to a specific ruler of Jaisalmer. The size of the Chhatris specifies if it was built for kings, queens or princes.
The beautiful carvings and intricate designs showcase the architectural prowess of the craftsmen of the era. The complex also houses a beautiful garden and is surrounded by windmills which makes for a spectacular landscape.
After capturing some captivating views we then headed towards the most talked about Kuldhara village.
History of Kuldhara: Legend has it that the village was home to a community of Paliwal Brahmins who fled overnight around 200 years ago due to an unjust tax system imposed by the ruling kingdom. The villagers supposedly cursed the land before leaving, causing it to remain uninhabited ever since. Today the village is known for its eerie atmosphere and the mysterious stories surrounding its abandonment. We explored the ruins of the village, including the dilapidated houses, temples, and other structures, and learned more about the history and legends associated with this fascinating place from the father and son duo who still live there.
Hope you enjoy the video.
