Cold Exposure For Aches and Pain
One of the many things I love about my intentional cold exposure is the relief I get from aches and pains. For centuries, humans have used cold temperatures for therapeutic purposes. This type of cold therapy is typically referred to as cryotherapy.
Cryotherapy causes blood vessels to constrict, minimizing inflammation and swelling, which is tied to pain, and it may also reduce sensitivity to pain. It can also reduce delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and accelerate healing.
Exposure to cold temperatures also triggers norepinephrine. The boost in norepinephrine you’ll get from deliberate cold exposure has been shown to be up to 200-300% and lasts well after the cold exposure. Studies have shown that this powerful neurotransmitter will not only improve mood, focus, and attention it can also dramatically reduce swelling and relieve pain.
Are you dealing with some aches and pains? If you haven’t yet, maybe it’s time to give cold therapy a try.

Deliberate Cold Exposure For Stress & Anxiety
Deliberate cold exposure can have a remarkable impact on our mental well-being. Submerging ourselves in icy temperatures can actually help improve mood, reduce stress levels, and alleviate anxiety.
Cold exposure stimulates our sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the “fight or flight” response. By subjecting ourselves to controlled cold environments, we can effectively train our body to adapt to stressors more efficiently. This adaptive response not only improves our resilience to daily stress but also helps reduce the overall levels of stress hormones in our body, leading to a calmer and more relaxed state.
Cold therapy also regulates the production of neurotransmitters like norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine, which play a crucial role in managing anxiety symptoms. When practicing regular cold exposure, individuals have reported a reduction in anxiety levels, increased mental clarity, and enhanced overall well-being. These chemicals not only boost our mood and create a sense of euphoria but also act as natural painkillers, reducing any discomfort or tension we may be experiencing.
Embrace the power of intentional cold exposure and unlock a happier, more balanced life.

We didn't eat for 4 days to reset our body | 4 Day Water only Fast
After the holidays and to start the new year, Chase and I decided to do a four-day water-only fast. This is our first time doing a prolonged water fast.
Our ancestors would go without food between hunts, putting them into a fasted state without even trying. Now Look at our lives today. As long as you’re privileged enough to have food on your table, you will likely have a surplus of food. We never have to wonder where our next meal will come from. It is easy to constantly stuff our faces with food, never giving our stomachs a break. I believe this is what leads to a lot of our so-called western diseases.
There are several benefits to prolonged fasting, and here a just some of those benefits.
1. Detoxification: Fasting gives your body a break from food and allows it to focus on detoxification and eliminating toxins from the body.
2. Weight Loss: Fasting helps to reduce calorie intake and burn fat, resulting in weight loss.
3. Improved Metabolism: Fasting helps to reset the body’s metabolism and improves the way it processes food.
4. Improved Mental Clarity: Fasting can help improve mental clarity and focus, allowing you to think more clearly and be more productive.
5. Improved Immunity: Fasting helps to strengthen the immune system, making it more efficient at fighting off infections and diseases.
6. Improved Digestion: Fasting helps to improve digestion and reduce bloating, leading to better nutrient absorption.
You don’t have to start with a prolonged fast. If you’d like to try fasting, start by skipping one meal a day. Or try intermittent fasting. This is where you only eat for a set period during the day. For example, 16-8, which means 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours of eating. There are still a lot of benefits to these shorting types of fasting and they are an excellent way to work up to a prolonged fast. I recommend consulting a healthcare professional first if you plan to start a prolonged fast.
Live life and be awesome!
