I own 11 other DeWalt 20v max tools that have proven to be bulletproof and liked the idea of a cordless chopsaw. So far I have cut hundreds of 2x4, 1x2, fence posts and a few 4x4. The unit is light enough to carry around the jobsite with one hand. Try that with the 12" DeWalt compound miter saw. That thing is a back buster. No extension cords or wasting time looking for a power source. SAVES SO MUCH TIME!!! I bought 2 quality blades, a 24 tooth Diablo Demo Demon for rough cuts and a Diablo 60 tooth for finish cuts. That made a big difference. It comes with a DeWalt 40 Tooth blade that is very good for 2x4 cuts but the Diablo blades really made this tool shine. This tool is very well engineered. DeWalt took all their knowledge of the bigger chop saws and put it into a cordless model. The sliding mechanism is smoother than my 12" DeWalt and even though it only bevels one way it can still make any cut you need. If you already own a few 20V Max DeWalt tools adding this chopsaw to your collection should be your next step. Just a few words from a master carpenter....This is a saw of convenience. It is not intended to cut 7-1/4" crown nested against the fence. (I personally do not know any true "carpenters" that nest their crown, you cut it FLAT you posers! )This saw is intended for the small job. I am more interested in accurate angles and tight miters than raw power. Luckily with this saw, I got both. First, when removing the saw from the box you get a sense of quality immediately. The saw was well packaged, almost to a fault. If they had thrown this thing off the back of the UPS truck without slowing down I think it would have been just fine. The saws overall appearance and finish are great. The machined aluminum bed is bright, clean and smooth and the angle dial at the bottom is large and easy to see. Nothing wiggles or flexes and the saw has considerable heft that induces confidence but wont break your back. If youre doing finish work. I would recommend cutting through some stock to get most of the yellow off of the blade that will smear on your initial cuts. A minor inconvenience as this could be sanded off as well. While I thought that the XPS system would be a silly gimmick (at the time of purchase the XPS was cheaper than the regular model), I was pleasantly surprised. This system is dead on accurate. You have to get the blade close to what youre cutting to cast a defined shadow, but youd likely be doing this anyways for a precision marking. Buy the biggest blade size you can afford, and buy a fine blade as the one that comes with is a bit course. I just finished a cabin addition, lots of mitering, it looks amazing. I like that the saw is powerful and cuts easily and cleanly. The vacuum port is a bit large for my shop vac but mostly works. I mounted the saw to a 20"x32" piece of 3/4" plywood. When I use it I suspend it partially off the workbench and secure with 3 bolts. This extension off the workbench was necessary to provide clearance for the rails and vacuum connection. I added a plywood fence as shown in the pictures. This makes it easier to determine where the saw will cut (for 0 degree cuts). A strange thing happened the 2nd time I used the saw. Somehow, a small plastic part (# N63004) fell into the blade and was chopped up (see the image). DeWalt customer service seems incapable of identifying this part! Maybe someone out there can identify it. They would like me to ship the saw to them for repair/replacement. I can see nothing wrong with the saw so Im really reluctant to ship it off. If they could identify the part and tell me why they think it needs repair I might change my mind. I will continue to update this rating and review with useage. The Keter is a solid work piece. yes, it is "plastic" but it is very sturdy and the ingenious bracing system makes for a solid work surface. Unlike my older table that required unfolding, pinching tabs, clamping braces before it is work ready the Keter is amazingly easy to set up. You set it on the floor, grip the side clamps and lift. The legs fold out into locked position and all you need to do is push three hinged pieces into a locked position and you are good to go. The clamps that come with it are very handy for clamping work onto the table and the slots provided for both vertical and horizontal clamping are easy to work with.One note- mine arrived with a slight crack on the top plate of one of the leg "cups" (see photo). Finally, I found a place that had it: Lowes in South San Francisco. I got their last one, although at the time of this writing the display model on the floor is also a v2. I have been shopping for a miter saw to add to my home workshop. I looked at every brand put there, but knowing I did not want to spend half a grand on a big name brand saw, I poured over what was available in the $200-$300 dollar range. I examined the specs and read countless amounts of feedback on many different saws, but in the end I decided to take a chance on the Tacklife 12" sliding compound miter saw. I was so glad I did! And right from the outset, I was impressed by this company. First, unlike some companies, they made sure to securely package their saw for shipping. The box was sturdy, there was styrofoam cutouts inside that made sure to hold the saw firmly in place no matter how roughly the box was handled in shipping. I cant tell you all how many times I have ordered some big expensive item in the mail and recieved a box that was half open because the shipper failed to properly tape it up before it left the warehouse. Not the case here! About the saw. There was very little setup required. Immediately there were several things I noticed that I really loved about this saw. First. the extensions on each side. They pull out a good ways, making the surface of your saw able to accommodate a six foot board with ease. I really liked how wide the extensions are, and the fact that they are built to set on a flat surface- not just hang out suspended in mid air. You really will appreciate that when cutting long, wide boards. The saw was also accurate right out of the box. I used an angle positioned flat against the fence to determine how accurate a straight cut would be, and I was amazed that it was spot on- with NO adjusting on my part! The saw has good power, is not too loud, and slides really well. I havent even bothered to use the laser. I just bring the saw blade down and line it up with my cut line before each cut, and I get a perfect cut every time. I will say that the blade is average at best, and if you plan to do alot of cutting- buy a better blade with 80 or 96T. The best thing about the saw? It has to be the clamp down arm. I have NEVER seen a better design than on this saw. Dewalt, Rigid, Hitachi, Ryobi- all those other brands have what is referred to as "pressure clamps". And they are practically WORTHLESS! The reason is that there is nothing anchoring the clamp to the actual saw base. So you go and clamp it down on your piece of wood relying on gravity and other mystical forces to hold your board down tight as you cut. Problem is- they never work! Most everyone I know has just given up on using them completely and is left to hold down the board with one hand while cutting with the other. I love the saw and the gravity cart - I did buy the "laser washer" as well. A tad disappointed that the saw blade must be spinning for a laser line to illuminate. You have to jockey your material with one hand while the other is on the trigger while the blade is running to line your mark up with the laser. Another disappointment I used the saw for the first time a better part of a day. I went to empty the dust collector bag and the entire chute assembly fell off. The chute is plastic and attaches at four points. The upper most attach point has two Phillips screws side by side. The attach point is plastic with not a lot of material there to accommodate two screws side by side. I think the screws were over driven and broke the attach point. Without the integrity in the top attach point the chute tilts outward stressing the lower plastic pins - which cracked off with little effort.Perhaps Bosch can engineer a bit more integrity into the chute attachment points. A beautiful saw came to a stop because of plastic.Bosch - without hesitation is sending a new chute. For that I am grateful.Beautiful Saw and Love the Gravity Cart! This is my first review, as a frequent Amazon user. Purchased this saw from a big box store only because I didnt trust delivery of it, which would probably add to issues, people had with anything being out of square, flush , inaccurate, whatever. It doesnt give completely clean cuts and I have to use a sacrificial board underneath the board being cut to completely avoid tear-out, but its still better than any other blade Ive tried on my 12" miter saw. I use this blade on my 12" Dewalt miter saw. This blade is used mainly for "rough" cutting, but I have used it with fine trim work and it works fine. I recommend this blade, and I would purchase it again. I wont buy any other saw blade ever again. These are the best cutting blades. Its like cutting through soft butter. Whats more, you dont end up with frayed, splintering edges on the back side. The cuts are smooth and clean. After using one my son bought, I replaced the blades on my 10 inch chop saw, 12" miter saw, and 7" Rigid hand saw. They are that good! I’m really glad I got this blade. I’ve been using it for awhile now and it has not disappointed. I usually get dewalts general blade and those seem to dull out fairly quickly. This was a great buy at a very good price. I purchased a new DeWalt 12" double bevel miter saw and installed this blade without even attempting to use the blade that came with the miter saw. I first became aware of the precision, super sharp diablo blade when I used one on my Skil circular saw for a big deck project, I was so pleased with the performance of that saw blade, this 12" is no different, a great saw blade that is laser precise and so sharp leaving smooth cuts on anything I cut. This blade is awesome, and makes a noticeable difference in cut quality compared to the factory blade that came with my DeWalt miter saw. My only complaint is that the DeWalt saw is designed for a smaller arbor size, and it is necessary to use a reducer (supplied by DeWalt) with this 1" arbor blade. The reducer doesnt want to stay in position while the blade is being mounted, and I ended up having to use packaging tape to hold it in position while tightening the mount. This is not Freuds fault, of course. I am very happy with this blade and would highly recommend it. Price is good, quality is great. I don't know about longevity, as I've only used it for a couple of hours. I expect it will remain sharp and last as long as the DeWalt blades that I own. Nice thing about it is that it doesn't sing. What a difference! This blade is night and day difference from even high end blades I was using from other name brand manufacturers (Dewalt). I immediately noticed that the saw is quieter when not under a load. This is due to the small lines cut in the kerf to eliminate vibration. The fact that the kerf is thinner that a traditional blade greatly eliminates drag when cutting through a work piece. The carbide teeth chew like a dream. After buying one of these for my circular saw, I immediately switched to Diablo blades for all my cutting tools. Very high quality. Like every other saw blade diablo makes, this blade is the finest quality money can buy (at least of any I have tried in my 10 years of carpentry) razor sharp and very true. It always amazes me how fast this thing goes through a piece of lumber compared to a factory blade that’s normally included with a saw. Freud Diablo saw blades have been my choice for years. I am not a professional carpenter, merely a retired DIYer who uses a bunch of saws and loves the smell of sawdust. These blades take years to wear out.
