The Prehistoric World; or, Vanished Races, by E.A. Allen
We are told that in Tartary, each native makes the iron he needs, just as every household would make its own bread. The furnace is a very small affair, not holding more than three pounds of ore. This is filled with ore and charcoal. The bellows are used, and after the charcoal is all burned out, the result is a small piece of spongy iron, which needs only repeated heating and hammering to be made serviceable.
Primitive furnaces, on a somewhat larger scale, have been discovered in Switzerland. Here, the excavation was made in the side of a hill, and a rude, dome-shaped chimney built over it. We must not forget that our task ends where the historian’s begins. The use of iron did not long precede history, so we have but little to describe as to the customs and manners of life during the prehistoric Iron Age.

Clip - Dr. Joseph Ennemoser. The History of Magic. The Ancients, Oracles, Healing, Magnestism, Seers
The History of Magic, Volume 1 – Dr. Joseph Ennemoser.
Joseph Ennemoser (1787-1854) was an Tyrolean doctor and scientist, noted for his use of magnetism and hypnosis. He was a forerunner of Freud in his belief in the connection between the mind and physical health, and his interest in psychology led to investigations into the paranormal and magic. He became well known for his presentations about magic, delusions and apparently supernatural occurrences. He suggested that most of these phenomena appeared miraculous only because of a lack of understanding of the laws of nature.
The History of Magic was published in Leipzig in 1844, and translated into English in 1854 by William Howitt, a leading Spiritualist writer. Volume 1 deals with the different categories of magic and mysticism, and how they were viewed in ancient times. He discusses visions, dreams and soothsaying, and miracles in the Bible, and the link between classical medicine and oracles.

Clip - C.J.S. Thompson. The Mystery and Romance of Alchemy and Pharmacy. The Wizards and Healers
The Mystery and Romance of Alchemy and Pharmacy was written by Charles John Samuel Thompson, or C.J.S. Thompson, as he was more commonly known, a physician and writer. The book talks about the interrelationship and mystery between ancient healing and pharmacy, and how it all started from the use of herbs. It serves as the basis of modern medicine from the traditional approach. It contains what medicine was, it is, and could be.
“It has been my endeavor in the following pages to sketch, however imperfectly, some phases of the romance and mystery that have surrounded the arts of medicine, alchemy, and pharmacy from the earliest period of which we have record down to the close of the eighteenth century. The influence of the past on the present is greater than we commonly suppose. In this age of rapid scientific progress and brilliant research, we are apt to overlook and lose sight of the patient labors of the early pioneers of science, many of whom laid the foundations of discoveries that have since proved of inestimable value to mankind. Hence the history of the past, whether in science or in art, is always worthy of study and attention.”

Clip - Nesta H. Webster. Secret Societies and Subversive Movements. The Occult Communist World Plot
Secret Societies and Subversive Movements – “There is in Italy a power which we seldom mention in this House… I mean the secret societies…. It is useless to deny, because it is impossible to conceal, that a great part of Europe-the whole of Italy and France and a great portion of Germany, to say nothing of other countries-is covered with a network of those secret societies, just as the superficies of the earth is now being covered with railroads. And what are their objects? They do not attempt to conceal them. They do not want constitutional government: they do not want ameliorated institutions… they want to change the tenure of land, to drive out the present owners of the soil and to put an end to ecclesiastical establishments.
Some of them may go further…”
— (DISRAELI in the House of Commons, July 14, 1856.)
Nesta Helen Webster (24 August 1876 – 16 May 1960) was a controversial historian, occultist, and author who revived conspiracy theories about the Illuminati. She argued that the secret society s members were occultists, plotting communist world domination, using the idea of a cabal, the Masons and Jez uits as a smokescreen.
According to her, their international subversion included the French Revolution, 1848 Revolution, the First World War, the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917. In 1920. Articles were subsequently compiled and published in the same year, in book form under the title of the The Cause of World Unrest. She was cited respectfully by Winston Churchill, “This movement as Mrs. Webster, has so ably shown, [played] a definitely recognizable part in the tragedy of the French Revolution.”
Her position on that, in 1924, “Contrary to the assertions of certain writers, I never affirmed my belief in the authenticity of the Protocols, but have always treated it as an entirely open question.” She also believed she was a countess in a previous life, who was guillotined by French revolutionaries. At one time she was a member of the British Union of Fascists.

Clip - H.P. Blavatsky, Practical Occultism. To Students, and Occult Arts vs Occultism. Suggestions
IMPORTANT TO STUDENTS
OCCULTISM VERSUS THE OCCULT ARTS
SOME PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS FOR DAILY LIFE
Practical Occultism – H.P. Blavatsky. Occultism is not magic. It is comparatively easy to learn the trick of spells and the methods of using the subtler, but still material, forces of physical nature; the powers of the animal soul in man are soon awakened; the forces that his love, his hate, his passion, can call into operation are readily developed. But this is Black Magic–Sorcery. For it is the motive, and the motive alone, that makes any exercise of power become black, malignant, or white, beneficent Magic.
It is impossible to employ spiritual forces if there is the slightest tinge of selfishness remaining in the operator. For unless the intention is entirely unalloyed, the spiritual will transform itself into the psychic, act on the astral plane, and dire results may be produced by it. The powers and forces of animal nature can equally be used by the selfish and revengeful, as by the unselfish and the all-forgiving; the powers and forces of spirit lend themselves only to the perfectly pure in heart–and this is DIVINE MAGIC.

Clip - William Howitt, The Supernatural in All Ages and Nations. Ancient Supernatural to 1800's.
The History of the Supernatural in All Ages and Nations, Volume 1 – William Howitt. This two-volume history of the supernatural, first published in 1863, is a staggering feat: Extending his work across almost a thousand pages, William Howitt attempted to describe the engagement with the supernatural in all ages and all parts of the world in order to identify a common link between them. Howitt (1792-1879), a well-known writer in his day, published over 50 books in his lifetime, some in collaboration with his wife, writer and translator Mary Howitt. His interest in the supernatural was precipitated by the untimely deaths of two sons.
This first volume begins with an apology for faith in the nineteenth century and continues with spiritualist histories of Europe, the bible and apocrypha, the ancient world, the East, and Scandinavia, emphasizing the persisting legacy and presence of human engagement with the supernatural in each case.
chapter I. AN APOLOGY FOR FAITH IN THE NINETEENTH CENTURY.

Confronted with these facts our sentimental hearthstone vaporing about parental care and me sacredness of the family as the inviolable unit of human society is only an excuse for doing nothing. Elementary civilization is impossible without a moral code like the Ten Commandments, a technique of language, writing, and arithmetic, and a legal code of compulsory behavior completely abolishing individual liberty and free will within its scope. Unless people can be depended on to behave in an expected manner they cannot live in society, and must be either corrected or, if incorrigible, killed. Their life must be mostly dictated and institutional, and mere activities determined and predicable.
They can be imposed in various ways, by merciless whippings of children and cruel punishments of adults as well as by less savage and mischievous methods ; but they must be imposed somehow, or me human world will be an Alsatian madhouse. The necessity is fundamental; and the statesman who imagines that a formula of Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, will solve all his problems will discover, if he is capable of learning from experience, that liberty must give way to equality and that fraternity may mean either the fraternity of Cain and Abel or the friendship of David and Jonathan. Children, if they are to grow up as citizens, must learn a good deal that their parents could not teach them even if they had the necessary time. The statesman must make provision for this teaching or he will presently find himself faced with the impossible task of maintaining civilization with savages instead of citizens.
So without law and order, convention and etiquette, there can be no
civilization; yet when these are established there must be privilege
for sedition, blasphemy, heresy, eccentricity, innovation, variety and
change, or civilization will crash again by failing to adapt itself to
scientific discovery and mental growth. Governments have to persecute
and tolerate simultaneously: they have to determine continually
what and when to persecute and what and when to tolerate. They
must never make either persecution or toleration a principle. British
mistrust of principle and logic is rooted in the wisdom of this rule...

Clip - A Canadian Shame, Darren Grimes. The Indian Act and The Residential Schools. A Real Timeline
A Canadian Shame: The Indian Act and Residential Schools. A Canadian Shame is a disturbing collection of information that forces every listener to meditate on the atrocities of government and institutions. Grimes’ heritage and personal experience make him the perfect author for this book, but the superior documentation is what makes it as credible as it is fascinating.
Although a light is being shined into a very dark corner of our society, one still walks away with a knowledge that truth and love will bring all of humanity together. An uncomfortable story can be a powerful catalyst for unity.
Find out all about the Indian Act, residential schools, Indigenous child welfare, unmarked graves, and more in the comprehensive, extremely well-sourced overview of the last 150 years of Canada and the Indian Act.
Starlight tours, missing and murdered Indigenous women, and the charge of genocide are all explored in an informative and concise way. Filled with quotes, legislation, correspondence, and historical information, this book is a must have for anyone interested in the relationship between Canada and the Indigenous people for the bibliography alone.
From the inception of the Indian Act to residential schools, from the potlach ban to the ’60s scoop, right up to the present day, A Canadian Shame is filled with the highlights of atrocities that every Canadian should know, up until the apologies finally offered over the last decade. f
In A Canadian Shame, Darren Grimes has collected and presented overwhelming evidence which shows beyond doubt that a monster bent on the complete destruction of the Indigenous peoples of Canada (First Nations, Inuit, Metis, and all the other Aboriginal inhabitants of the land) has been devouring not only men and women, but also children of those cultures, that this monster has been doing so for hundreds of years, that this destruction has been deliberate and systematic rather than accidental or unintended.

Clip - Charles Fort, The Book of the Damned. Spoiler.. we who are not exclusionists are the damned!
The Book of the Damned was the first published nonfiction work by American author Charles Fort. Concerning various types of anomalous phenomena including UFOs, strange falls of both organic and inorganic materials from the sky, odd weather patterns, the possible existence of creatures generally believed to be mythological, disappearances of people, and many other phenomena, the book is considered to be the first of the specific topic of anomalistics.

A PROCESSION of the damned.
By the damned, I mean the excluded.
We shall have a procession of data that Science has excluded.
Battalions of the accursed, captained by pallid data that I have
exhumed, will march. You'll read them-or they'll march. Some
of them livid and some of them fiery and some of them rotten.
Some of them are corpses, skeletons, mummies, twitching, tottering,
animated by companions that have been damned alive. There
are giants that will walk by, though sound asleep. There are things
that are theorems and things that are rags: they'll go by like
Euclid arm in arm with the spirit of anarchy. Here and there
will flit little harlots. Many are clowns. But many are of the
highest respectability. Some are assassins. There are pale stenches
and gaunt superstitions and mere shadows and lively malices: whims
and amiabilities. The naive and the pedantic and the bizarre and
the grotesque and the sincere and the insincere, the profound and
the puerile.
A stab and a laugh and the patiently folded hands of hopeless
propriety.
The ultra-respectable, but the condemned, anyway.
The aggregate appearance is of dignity and dissoluteness: the aggregate
voice is a defiant prayer: but the spirit of the whole is processional.
The power that has said to all these things that they are damned,
is Dogmatic Science.
But they'll march.
The little harlots will caper, and freaks will distract attention,
and the clowns will break the rhythm of the whole with their buffooneries-but
the solidity of the procession as a whole: the impressiveness
of things that pass and pass and pass, and keep on and
keep on and keep on coming.
The irresistibleness of things that neither threaten nor jeer nor
defy, but arrange themselves in mass-formations that pass and pass
keep on passing.
So, by the damned, I mean the excluded.
But by the excluded I mean that which will some day be the
excluding.
Or everything that is, won't be.
And everything that isn't, will be-
But, of course, will be that which won't be-
It is our expression that the flux between that which isn't and
that which won't be, or the state that is commonly and absurdly
called "existence," is a rhythm of heavens and hells: that the
damned won't stay damned; that salvation only precedes perdition.
The inference is that some day our accursed tatterdemalions will
be sleek angels. Then the sub-inference is that some later day,
back they'll go whence they came.
It is our expression that nothing can attempt to be, except by
attempting to exclude something else: that that which is commonly
called "being" is a state that is wrought more or less definitely
proportionately to the appearance of positive difference between
that which is included and that which is excluded.
But it is our expression that there are no positive differences:
that all things are like a mouse and a bug in the heart of a cheese.
Mouse and a bug: no two things could seem more unlike. They're
there a week, or they stay there a month: both are then only transmutations
of cheese. I think we're all bugs and mice, and are only
different expressions of an all-inclusive cheese.
Or that red is not positively different from yellow: is only another
degree of whatever vibrancy yellow is a degree of:
