Clip. Zinfaendel - The Mystics Path of Self-Knowledge. By Dominic Vallee. Know Thyself, but why, how
Zinfaendel – The Mystic’s Path of Self-Knowledge
It is sometimes said that at the heart of all spiritual traditions, we find essentially the same values of love, virtue, and altruism. However, one notion consistently resurfaces even more prominently in the discourse of the greatest mystics throughout history: self-knowledge. Far beyond a mere psychological endeavour, the path of personal revelation remains enigmatic. Aside from our physical forms, our tragedies, ecstasies, and opinions, what else is there to know? Do we simultaneously inhabit multiple worlds, and if so, how do we inquire into our subtlest aspects? Does this bewildering quest inexorably lead us to redefine our own concept of reality?
Facing the turbulence of our era, many of us are plagued by a growing sense of confusion. However, this feeling serves as an ideal starting point for the pursuit of self-knowledge, as it facilitates the emergence of the mystic’s inquisitive spirit. By exploring oneself through the filters of philosophy, meditation, art, psychology, and divination, the introspective adept exposes themselves to their profound nature. It is through this journey that Zinfaendel, along with Dominic Vallée, invites you to the exciting discovery your true bearings, roots, and identity.
Table of Contents:
Part 1: Zinfaendel Revealed
I. Introduction
II. Behind the Door, a Mirror
III. Same, But Different
IV. Of Punks and Mystics
Part 2: “Nosce te ipsum”

Mrs. Amworth. E.F. Benson 1922. The tale of an old English town and history of a Vampire woman.
Mrs. Amworth. (1922) E. F. Benson. Full Narration
Edward Frederic Benson (1867–1940) was an English novelist, biographer, memoirist, archaeologist and short story writer. Mrs. Amworth was first published in “Hutchinson’s Magazine,” June 1922.
"I had been dining one night at the far end of the village, and about eleven o’clock was walking home again. The moon was of an unusual brilliance, rendering all that it shone on as distinct as in some etching. I had just come opposite the house which Mrs. Amworth had occupied, where there was a board up telling that it was to let, when I heard the click of her front gate, and next moment I saw, with a sudden chill and quaking of my very spirit, that she stood there. Her profile, vividly illuminated, was turned to me, and I could not be mistaken in my identification of her. She appeared not to see me
(indeed the shadow of the yew hedge in front of her garden enveloped me in its blackness) and she went swiftly across the road, and entered the gate of the house directly opposite. There I lost sight of her completely.
My breath was coming in short pants as if I had been running—and now indeed I ran, with fearful backward glances, along the hundred yards that separated me from my house and Urcombe’s. It was to his that my flying steps took me, and next minute I was within."

Bram Stoker. Dracula's Guest. Original first chapter of "Dracula" written in 1897. Full Narration
Dracula’s Guest. (1897) Bram Stoker.
Abraham “Bram” Stoker (1847–1912) was an Irish author. Dracula’s Guest was written as the first chapter for Stoker’s 1897 famous novel Dracula, but was deleted prior to publication as the original
publishers felt was superfluous to the story. It was first published in “Dracula’s Guest and Other Weird
Stories” on 1914.
"The ground I passed over was now much more picturesque. There were no striking objects that the eye might single out; but in all there was a charm of beauty. I took little heed of time and it was only when the deepening twilight forced itself upon me that I began to think of how I should find my way home. The brightness of the day had gone. The air was cold, and the drifting of clouds high overhead was more marked. They were accompanied by a sort of far-away rushing sound, through which seemed to come at intervals that mysterious cry which the driver had said came from a wolf. For a while I hesitated. I had said I would see the deserted village, so on I went, and presently came on a wide stretch of open country, shut in by hills all around. Their sides were covered with trees which spread down to the plain, dotting, in clumps, the gentler slopes and hollows which showed here and there. I followed with my eye the winding of the road, and saw that it curved close to one of the densest of these clumps and was lost behind it.
As I looked there came a cold shiver in the air, and the snow began to fall. I thought of the miles and miles of bleak country I had passed, and then hurried on to seek the shelter of the wood in front. Darker
and darker grew the sky, and faster and heavier fell the snow, till the earth before and around me was a glistening white carpet the further edge of which was lost in misty vagueness. The road was here but crude, and when on the level its boundaries were not so marked, as when it passed through the cuttings; and in a little while I found that I must have strayed from it, for I missed underfoot the hard surface, and my feet sank deeper in the grass and moss. Then the wind grew stronger and blew with ever increasing force, till I was fain to run before it. The air became icy-cold, and in spite of my exercise I began to suffer. The snow was now falling so thickly and whirling around me in such rapid eddies that I could hardly keep my eyes open. Every now and then the heavens were torn asunder by vivid lightning, and in the flashes I could see ahead of me a great mass of trees, chiefly yew and cypress all heavily coated with snow."

The Last Lords of Gardonal, 1867. William Gilbert. The Brother Lords in Conflict, and obsessive Love
The Last Lords of Gardonal. (1867). William Gilbert.
Its author, William Gilbert (1804–1890) was an English writer and Royal Navy surgeon. He was also the father of W. S. Gilbert, a dramatist, librettist, poet and illustrator.
ONE of the most picturesque objects of the valley of the Engadin is the ruined castle of Gardonal, near the village of Madaline. In the feudal times it was the seat of a family of barons, who possessed as their patrimony the whole of the valley, which with the castle had descended from father to son for many generations. The two last of the race were brothers; handsome, well-made, fine-looking young men, but in nature they more resembled fiends than human beings—so cruel, rapacious, and tyrannical were they. During the earlier part of his life their father had been careful of his patrimony. He had also been unusually just to the serfs on his estates, and in consequence they had attained to such a condition of comfort and prosperity as was rarely met with among those in the power of the feudal lords of the country; most of whom were arbitrary and exacting in the extreme. For several years in the latter part of his life he had been subject to a severe illness, which had confined him to the castle, and the management of his possessions and the government of his serfs had thus fallen into the hands of his sons. Although the old baron had placed so much power in their hands; still he was far from resigning his own authority. He exacted a strict account from them of the manner in which they performed the different duties he had intrusted to them; and having a strong suspicion of their character, and the probability of their endeavouring to conceal their misdoings, he caused agents to watch them secretly, and to report to him as to the correctness of the statements they gave. These agents possibly knowing that the old man had but a short time to live invariably gave a most favourable description of the conduct of the two young nobles, which, it must be admitted, was not, during their father’s lifetime, particularly reprehensible on the whole. Still, they frequently showed as much of the cloven foot as to prove to the tenants what they had to expect at no distant day.

The Story of a National Crime. By. P.H. Bryce M.A, M.D. 1922. Canadian Indians Health from 1904-1921
THE STORY OF A NATIONAL CRIME
BY P. H. BRYCE, M.A., M.D.
BEING AN APPEAL FOR JUSTICE TO THE INDIANS OF CANADA
The Wards of the Nation :
Our Allies in the Revolutionary War :
Our Brothers-in-Arms in the Great War.
BEING A Record of the Health Conditions of the Indians
of Canada from 1904 to 1921
Chief Medical Officer of the Indian Department.
I. By Order in Council dated Jan. 22nd, 1904, the writer was appointed Medical Inspector to the Department of the Interior and of Indian Affairs and was entrusted with the health interests of the Indians of Canada. The Order in Council recites:
" The undersigned has the honour to report that there is urgent necessity for the appointment of a medical inspector to represent the Department of the Interior and Department of Indian Affairs. The undersigned believes that the qualifications for the position above mentioned are possessed in an eminent degree by Mr. Peter Henderson Bryce, M. D., at present and for a number of years past Secretary for the Provincial Board of Health of Ontario, and who has had large experience in connection with the public health of the province."
(Signed)
CLIFFORD SlFTON,
Minister of the Interior and
Superintendent General of Indian Affairs.
For the first months after the writer's appointment, he was much engaged in organizing the medical inspection of immigrants at the sea ports; but he early began the systematic collection of health statistics of the several hundred Indian Bands scattered over Canada. For each year up to 1914 he wrote an annual report on the health of the Indians, published in the Departmental report, and on instructions from the minister made in 1907 a special inspection of thirty-five Indian schools in the three prairie provinces. This report was published separately; but the recommendations contained in the report were never published and the public knows nothing of them. It contained a brief history of the origin of the Indian Schools, of the sanitary condition of the schools and statistics of the health of the pupils, during the 15 years of their existence. Regarding the health of the pupils, the report states that 24 per cent, of all the pupils which had been in the schools were known to be dead, while of one school on the File Hills reserve, which gave a complete return to date, 75 percent, were dead at the end of the 16 years since the school opened.
Briefly the recommendations urged, (1) Greater school facilities, since only 30 percent of the school age children were in attendance; (2) That boarding schools with farms attached be established near the home reserves of the pupils; (3) That the government undertake the complete maintenance and control of the schools, since it had promised by treaty to insure such and further it was recommended that as the Indians grow in wealth and intelligence they should pay at least part of the cost from their own funds....

Margaret Sanger. The Pivot of Civilization. Birth Control and the Women of the Future. Progressive?
Narrated by Meredith Walako. Originally published over 100 years ago.
The Pivot of Civilization. By. Margaret Sanger
Birth control, Mrs. Sanger claims, and claims rightly, to be a question of fundamental importance at the present time. I do not know how far one is justified in calling it the pivot or the cornerstone of a progressive civilization. These terms involve a criticism of metaphors that may take us far away from the question in hand. Birth control is no new thing in human experience, and it has been practiced in societies of the most various types and fortunes. But there can be little doubt that at the present time it is a test issue between two widely different interpretations of the word civilization and of what is good in life and conduct. The way in which men and women range themselves in this controversy is more simply and directly indicative of their general intellectual quality than any other single indication.

The Tomb of Sarah, F.G. Loring, 1900. Full short story narrated. When you don't head the inscription
The Tomb of Sarah. (1900) F. G. Loring.
Frederick George Loring (1869–1951) was an English naval officer and writer, and an early expert in wireless telegraphy. Loring’s writing abilities appeared first as a technical journalist and as naval correspondent for the Western Morning News. Loring also wrote poetry and short stories, of which The Tomb of Sarah gained acclaim as a classic vampire story after it appeared in the “Pall Mall” magazine in December 1900.
My Father’s Diary
1841.—June 17th. Received a commission from my old friend Peter Grant to enlarge and restore the chancel of his church at Hagarstone, in the wilds of the West Country.
July 5th. Went down to Hagarstone with my’ head man, Somers. A very long and tiring journey.
July 7th. Got the work well started. The old church is one of special interest to the antiquarian, and I shall endeavour while restoring it to alter the existing arrangements as little as possible. One large tomb, however, must be moved bodily ten feet at least to the southward. Curiously enough, there is a somewhat forbidding inscription upon it in Latin, and I am sorry that this particular tomb should have to be moved. It stands amongst the graves of the Kenyons, an old family which has been extinct in these parts for centuries. The inscription on it runs thus: —
SARAH.
1630.
FOR THE SAKE OF THE DEAD AND THE WELFARE OF THE LIVING, LET THIS SEPULCHRE REMAIN UNTOUCHED AND ITS OCCUPANT UNDISTURBED TILL THE COMING OF CHRIST.
IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, THE SON, AND THE HOLY GHOST.
July 8th. Took counsel with Grant concerning the “Sarah Tomb.” We are both very loth to disturb it, but the ground has sunk so beneath it that the safety of the church is in danger; thus we have no choice. However, the work shall be done as reverently as possible under our own direction.
Grant says there is a legend in the neighbourhood that it is the tomb of the last of the Kenyons, the evil Countess Sarah, who was murdered in 1630. She lived quite alone in the old castle, whose ruins still stand three miles from here on the road to Bristol. Her reputation was an evil one even for those days. She was a witch or were-woman, the only companion of her solitude being a familiar in the shape of a huge Asiatic wolf. This creature was reputed to seize upon children, or failing these, sheep and other small animals, and convey them to the castle, where the Countess used to suck their blood, it was popularly supposed that she could never be killed. This, however, proved a fallacy, since she was strangled one day by a mad peasant woman who had lost two children, she declaring that they had both been seized and carried off by the Countess’s familiar. This is a very interesting story, since it points to a local superstition very similar to that of the Vampire, existing in Slavonic and Hungarian Europe

Clip - From Ritual To Romance. Jesse Weston. King Arthur Legend, Grail. Golden Bough, Pagan Elements
From Ritual to Romance is a 1920 book written by Jessie L. Weston. The work is notable for being mentioned by T. S. Eliot in the notes to his poem, The Waste Land: Not only the title, but the plan and a good deal of the incidental symbolism of the poem were suggested by Miss Jessie L. Weston’s book. Weston’s book is an academic examination of the roots of the King Arthur legends and seeks to make connections between the early pagan elements and the later Christian influences. The book’s main focus is on the Holy Grail tradition and its influence, particularly the Wasteland motif. The origins of Weston’s book are in James George Frazer’s seminal work on folklore, magic, and religion, The Golden Bough, and in the works of Miss Jane Ellen Harrison.

Clip - Charles Fort, New Lands. Super Sargasso Sea, Astronomical Anomalies. Mirages, Mysteries, UFO
New Lands was the second nonfiction book of the author Charles Fort, written in 1925. It deals primarily with astronomical anomalies. Fort expands in this book on his theory about the Super-Sargasso Sea – a place where earthly things supposedly materialize in order to rain down on Earth – as well as developing an idea that there are continents above the skies of Earth. As evidence, he cites a number of anomalous phenomena, including strange “mirages” of land masses, groups of people, and animals in the skies. He also continues his attacks on scientific dogma, citing a number of mysterious stars and planets that scientists failed to account for

DISCUSSION
The basic issue is whether or not adrenochrome and compounds
which can be derived from it in vivo, perhaps adrenolutin and 5,6-
dihydroxy-N-methylindole, are active hallucinogens in man. The
evidence that these compounds exist in the body is growing more
substantial. The fact that these compounds are active in producing
changes in animals can no longer be denied, and indeed it was concluded
by Kety ( 1959) that there was no doubt it did produce
changes in animals. Adrenochrome will therefore be most interesting
to physiologists who are following the properties of metabolic
products of epinephrine.
The fact that adrenochrome and adrenolutin have produced
changes in the perception, thinking, and feeling of humans makes
them very interesting for psychiatrists and physiological psychologists.
Although Smythies ( 1960) denies that adrenochrome is active
in humans, the literature reviewed in this paper, as well as the
detailed outline of new data from our research, makes clear that it
is no longer sufficient merely to state that adrenochrome is not
active.
Adrenochrome and adrenolutin are chemically very reactive substances
and react with an amazing variety of constituents of the
body. They could therefore somehow interfere with sensory perception.
However, the evidence gathered in this review suggests clearly
that the brain is the chief target. This evidence is that ( 1) given
into the ventricles of the brain, the compounds are much more
active than when given by vein; ( 2) pretreatment with taraxein,
LSD, and ALD potentiates their action; ( 3) pretreatment with
ceruloplasmin protects the animal against their toxic effect; ( 4)
adrenochrome produces hypothermia in normal and adrenalectomized
rats (Hutcheon et al., 1956) without decreasing the consumption
of oxygen ( Eade, 1954); and ( 5) anxiety increases the susceptibility
of normal human subjects to adrenolutin (Hoffer, 1957 c).

IV. Recent Testimonies
V. Alternative Theories
Appendix A : The ” Periplus ” of Hanno
Appendix B : Plato’s Atlantis
Appendix C : Theory as to the Prominence of the Bull in Tradition
The following pages were written for the Month, but in
the course of writing extended themselves beyond the
limits of a magazine article ; the third chapter more
particularly becoming too elaborate in form for suitable
publication in a periodical. I have, therefore, preferred
to publish them separately. As, however, it would have
involved too much trouble to have rewritten and recast
the articles, I have printed them in their original form,
as addressed to the readers of the Month.
The subject, at least, is a curious and interesting
one ; and Mr. Donnelly's work, which was the occasion of
the articles being written, contains much curious speculation,
and is written in a style calculated to give zest to
the inquiry. It has had a wide circulation.
I cannot expect the same circulation for this little
volume, more especially as the theory it offers is not of
the same romantic and popular character ; but I hope it
may contribute something towards the solution of an
interesting and difficult question.
Plato's atlantis—Mr. Donnelly's theory.
A BOOK which is now (1883) in its seventh edition seems
to claim some reply from the point of view of Tradition.
It is entitled Atlantis': the Antediluvian World* and,
in fact, announces that the Deluge, in which we have
hitherto believed and have called universal, at any rate to
the extent of the destruction of all mankind,t did not
really occur, but that the subsidence of the island or continent
of Atlantis at some indefinite period was attended
by very similar circumstances, and that it is the tradition
of this catastrophe which has somehow spread through all
countries, which has created the impression of a universal
deluge ; in other words, that there was a deluge, but a
deluge as revealed according to Plato, and not according
to Moses.
Philosophy is the study of problems concerning matters as fundamental as existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language. Pythagoras (c. 570–495 BC) is said to have coined the term. Philosophical methods were applied through questioning, critical discussion, rational arguments, and systematic presentations on questions like “Is it possible to know anything and to prove it?” Major areas in academic philosophy include metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, political philosophy, logic, philosophy of science, and the history of Western philosophy.

THE VAMPYRE, John William Polidori. The OG Vampire Story, before Debonair Vampires were Cool. Undead
The Vampyre. (1819) John William Polidori.
This is the first published modern vampire story, it was written by John William Polidori (1795–1821), English writer and physician, although it was originally attributed to Lord Byron, later both Byron and Polidori affirmed that the story is Polidori’s. It was published in The New Monthly Magazine (a British monthly magazine). The story of how it was written is most interesting: in the summer of 1816, Lord Byron and his young physician John Polidori were staying at the Villa Diodati (Switzerland) by Lake Geneva and were visited by Percy Bysshe Shelley, Mary Shelley and Claire Clairmont. In June the five turned to telling horror tales, and decided to have a competition to see who could write the best horror story. Mary Shelley, in collaboration with Percy Bysshe Shelley, produced what would become Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus. Polidori was inspired by a fragmentary story of Byron’s, Fragment of a Novel (1816) (aka “A Fragment” and “The Burial: A Fragment”) and wrote The Vampyre. It has been long suggested that Polidori made the character Lord Ruthven (the vampire) as a satire of Lord Byron, whom he resented. So, here is the start of modern vampires, a mix of folk legends and a satire of Lord Byron by his physician, John Polidori, and all came from the same night that gave birth to Frankenstein.
But first on earth, as Vampyre sent,
Thy corse shall from its tomb be rent;
Then ghastly haunt the native place,
And suck the blood of all thy race;
There from thy daughter, sister, wife,
At midnight drain the stream of life;
Yet loathe the banquet which perforce
Must feed thy livid living corse,
Thy victims, ere they yet expire,
Shall know the demon for their sire;
As cursing thee, thou cursing them,
Thy flowers are withered on the stem.
But one that for thy crime must fall,
The youngest, best beloved of all,
Shall bless thee with a father’s name—
That word shall wrap thy heart in flame!
Yet thou must end thy task and mark
Her cheek’s last tinge—her eye’s last spark,
And the last glassy glance must view
Which freezes o’er its lifeless blue;
Then with unhallowed hand shall tear
The tresses of her yellow hair,
Of which, in life a lock when shorn
Affection’s fondest pledge was worn—
But now is borne away by thee
Memorial of thine agony!
Yet with thine own best blood shall drip;
Thy gnashing tooth, and haggard lip;
Then stalking to thy sullen grave,
Go—and with Gouls and Afrits rave,
Till these in horror shrink away
From spectre more accursed than they.

Wake Not The Dead!, Ernst Benjamin Salomo Raupach, Full Audiobook. Brunhilda under the full moon.
Wake not the Dead: —they bring but gloomy night
And cheerless desolation into day;
For in the grave who mouldering lay,
No more can feel the influence of light,
Or yield them to the sun’s prolific might;
Let them repose within their house of clay—
Corruption, vainly wilt thou e’er essay
To quicken: —it sends forth a pest’lent blight;
And neither fiery sun, nor bathing dew,
Nor breath of spring the dead can e’er renew.
That which from life is pluck’d, becomes the foe
Of life, and whoso wakes it waketh woe.
Seek not the dead to waken from that sleep
In which from mortal eye they lie enshrouded deep.
“Wilt thou for ever sleep? Wilt thou never more awake, my beloved, but henceforth repose for ever from thy short pilgrimage on earth? O yet once again return! and bring back with thee the vivifying dawn of hope to one whose existence hath, since thy departure, been obscured by the dunnest shades. What! dumb? for ever dumb? Thy friend lamenteth, and thou heedest him not? He sheds bitter, scalding tears, and thou reposest unregarding his affliction? He is in despair, and thou no longer openest thy arms to him as an asylum from his grief? Say then, doth the paly shroud become thee better than the bridal veil? Is the chamber of the grave a warmer bed than the couch of love? Is the spectre death more welcome to thy arms than thy enamoured consort? Oh! return, my beloved, return once again to this anxious disconsolate bosom.”
Wake Not the Dead. (1823) Ernst Benjamin Salomo Raupach.
By Ernst Benjamin Salomo Raupach (1784–1852), a German dramatist. This story has been wrongly attributed to Johann Ludwig Tieck for several years (and still is). This translation is taken from “Popular tales and romances of the northern nations, Vol. 1” edited in 1823, translator unknown.

Clip - MALLEUS MALEFICARUM, The Hammer Of Witches. Heinrich Kramer from 1486. The Devil's Magic?
Malleus Maleficarum, usually translated as The Hammer of Witches, is the best known treatise on witchcraft.
It was written by the German Catholic clergyman Heinrich Kramer, and first published in the German city of Speyer in 1486. It has been described as the compendium of literature in demonology of the 15th century.
The top theologians of the Inquisition at the Faculty of Cologne condemned the book as recommending unethical and illegal procedures, as well as being inconsistent with Catholic doctrines of demonology. The Malleus elevates sorcery to the criminal status of heresy, and recommends that secular courts prosecute it as such.
The Malleus suggests torture to effectively obtain confessions, and the death penalty as the only certain remedy against the evils of witchcraft. At the time of its publication, heretics were frequently sentenced to be burned alive at the stake, and the Malleus encouraged the same treatment of witches.
Despite its condemnation by the clergy, the book enjoyed a period of popularity among literate laymen.
