3 Questions to ask before your start building | WATCH THIS | Avoid Wastage
3 questions to ask before your start building solutions.
Usually, the first question people ask me while pitching an idea or solution, is:
How will you make money from my idea?
The most important questions are:
1. What problem are you solving?
2. How do you know it is a problem?
3. What are the plausible solutions to solve the problem?

How to build LEVEL OF DETAIL Calculations | INCLUDE & EXCLUDE | Tableau
Level of Detail (LOD) Calculations in Tableau. In this module, we explore Include and exclude.
When an INCLUDE or EXCLUDE LOD is used, the value might change depending on the structure of the view. The INCLUDE keyword takes the context of the view and adds a dimension for the calculation to consider (and the EXCLUDE removes a dimension present in the view from the context of the calculation), so using the calculation in another context can offer different results.

How to build LEVEL OF DETAIL Calculations | FIXED | Tableau
FIXED level of detail expressions compute a value using the specified dimensions, without reference to the dimensions in the view.
We are going to use the Calculated Field again but this
time we are going to have it fixed in a way at the Product Category level so that
even if you add the Product Sub Category, the values don’t change. How will we
do that in Tableau? There is a simple way. The syntax, as we mentioned in a
previous video, is to have your curly braces. This tells Tableau that you are going
to be using an LOD calculation. Then you type in the key word, which is ‘fixed’ in
this scenario because we want the calculation to be fixed at the Product Category
level.

LOD Calculations | Tableau | Intro to Level of Detail Calculations
LOD calculations are
basically nested SQL statements that are useful for cohort analysis. A quick re-cap
on the syntax of LOD calculations. We first begin with curly braces in which we
write our calculation. Then there is a key word – whether you are using a fixed
include or an exclude, which is followed by a dimension you are fixing or hinging
your calculation on. This is followed by the measure you aggregate your
calculation. This is the basic syntax of an LOD calculation.
We will visit the three types of LOD calculations in the next videos – fixed, include, and exclude.
With regards to fixed LOD calculations, it calculates a certain aggregation at a
specified level of detail that is independent of the view. Regardless of anything
else, it will always fix the calculation at that particular dimension.

People are eager to solve a problem without understanding the problem.
We as product building, problem solving entrepreneurial folks 😀work hard to plan the roadmap. We build customer profiles. We talk to users and create a persona. We analyze market trends, educate ourselves on technology, deep dive the market and brainstorm until we find the idea and the list of features.

Getting started with Tableau Calculations | Understand the basics
Hello and welcome to this module on Tableau calculations. We are going to be
doing a brief introduction to the various types of calcultions. We will be discussing
the key types in Tableau.
First are the Row Level Calculations. These calculations calculate all of the values
at a row level. To give an example, let’s say you have an orders table. All the
orders are unique and the row that has been assigned to each of these orders –
the calculation takes place at that level.
The second type is the Aggregated Calculation. These calculations help you to sum up or make any kind of aggregations to a particular column and then store that
value as an aggregated measure.
Third, and we are going to be dedicating an entire module to this type, is the Level
of Detail (LOD) Calculation. These are basically nested SQL statements which are
very useful for cohort analysis. We are going to be taking a deep dive into these
types of calculations that relate to the level of detail.
Finally, we come to the Table Calculations. Tableau gives an inherent and
automatic way to do table calculations but it is not restricted to that. Many of us
don’t that Tableau calculations, which are also table calculations, can also be
done with the help of a calculated field.
We will take a deep dive into what these are and we will take a few examples as
to what these four types of calculations mean and how they will be helpful in
order for you to conduct your day-to-day analysis and generate great reports of
having great KPIs. So let’s take a look into the practical of this particular concept.

How to identify Bad Meetings | STAY AWAY | STOP WASTING YOUR TIME
How to identify Bad Meetings | STAY AWAY | STOP WASTING YOUR TIME.
On an average we attend more than 50 meetings per month.
Besides attending guilt trip meetings and working long hours. Meetings can be the biggest waste of time for any of us.
(well almost, reading & watching useless videos are also terrible time sink)
Time management isn't mentioned in the working culture. The average job seeker spends 40% of their time on unproductive activities such as answering emails, calls – even though these activities are counterproductive, employees who spend most of their time on non-work tasks are half as productive as top performers.
Here, I have a video which will help you identify bad meetings and stop it forever.

What are Tableau Extracts? DATA EXTRACTS EXPLAINED
Tableau Extracts!
What are tableau data extracts?
The basic principles of a Tableau extract are the following:
The extract is just a snapshot of the data, it can change and be manipulated.
Extracts are saved subsets of data that you can use to improve performance or to take advantage of Tableau functionality not available or supported in your original data.
Creation an extract of your data can optimize the total amount of data by using filters and configuring other limits. After you create an extract, you can refresh it with data from the original data.

What are dimensions and measures in Tableau? Differences EXPLAINED!
Tableau basics. Dimensions and Measures. This video explains the difference between tableau dimensions and measures. What is the GREEN Pill vs the BLUE PILL?
What are dimensions and measures in Tableau?
A dimension is an attribute or property of an entire set, and a measure is a value associated with a group of data. In most cases a tableau dimension is organized into logical groups that relates together or describes a common theme.
Dimensions contain qualitative values (such as names, dates, or geographical data). You can use dimensions to categorize, segment, and reveal the details in your data. Dimensions affect the level of detail in the view.
Measures contain numeric, quantitative values that you can measure. Measures can be aggregated. When you drag a measure into the view, Tableau applies an aggregation to that measure (by default).
