What Happened To Highland Park, Michigan?
Today we're exploring (urbex) abandoned buildings in Highland Park, Michigan. Highland Park is located inside of Detroit and since 1930, more than 80% of its population has left. Why have so many people left the city? For one, a loss of jobs. Ford sold their highland park building in 1981 and years later Chrysler moved its headquarters out of highland park. The population declined even more after the 1967 Detroit 12th Street Riot. Highland Park had suffered so much that in August of 2011, over two-thirds of the street lights were repossessed because the city could no longer afford to pay its monthly electric bill. Then in 2013 Highland Park was sued for over 17 million dollars in unpaid sewage and water services. I explored a few buildings here, the first being The Glen-Villa Apartments. This building sits across the street from the former Highland Park High School which I also explored in a previous video. I also explored an assisted living facility for senior citizens called the Royal Nursing Center.

Exploring and Uncovering The History of The Falstaff Brewery (St. Louis, MO)
In this video we explore (urbex) the abandoned Falstaff Brewery in St. Louis, Missouri. Falstaff had many different plants where their beer was brewed, the one we are exploring today is Falstaff Plant #10. Falstaff beer was originally made at the Lemp Brewery which was established in 1840. After many personal tragedies and the passing of prohibition, Lemp closed down in 1919 and sold their Falstaff brand to another company (Griesedieck Brothers). The company that purchased the brand then renamed themself to the Falstaff Corporation. The Falstaff corporation was able to survive prohibition by selling non alcoholic beer and sodas. After Prohibition ended, the company experienced significant growth. Its initial expansion came when they acquired a brewery in Omaha, Nebraska, making Falstaff the first brewing company to operate facilities in two separate states. Falstaff continued to purchase new locations and eventually had breweries in Missouri, Louisiana, Indiana, Texas, and California. By the 1960s Falstaff was among the nation's largest brewers. In 1965 Falstaff acquired a location in Rhode Island but was later met with an antitrust lawsuit from the government.(United States v. Falstaff Brewing Corp (1973). The Supreme Court ruled the case in Falstaff's Favor but unfortunately the company never recovered. Falstaff was purchased by the S&P Company in April of 1975. With declining sales, many Falstaff locations were closed one after another during the late 70s and 80s. This building we're exploring today closed down in 1977. In 1990 the last remaining Falstaff Brewery in Fort Wayne, Indiana was closed down and the brand name became property of Pabst, who continued to brew Falstaff beer until 2005. Now that we know the history, lets go check this place out!

Exploring The Abandoned Castle School *Unexpected Guests Inside!*
I hear voices and encounter strangers while exploring (urbex) a creepy, scary (and possibly haunted) abandoned school (Grover Cleveland High School) in St. Louis, Missouri. While exploring I see (what used to be) the pool,
the front entrance, huge auditorium, the basketball gym, the library, and...the devil's room??. I also see lots of graffiti and even some fungus growing on the floors! Fun fact: William B. Ittner, a well known St. Louis architect, designed this building in 1913. He also designed Carr School, which I have explored in another video!

Exploring an Abandoned Skylift Ride With a Dark Secret
Today We explore an abandoned Skylift ride with a dark secret attached to it. The Clarksville Skylift was a popular attraction that opened in the early 1960's. The lift would take visitors up to lookout point, which was the highest point along the Mississippi River. Lookout Point offered various attractions such as lookout dam, a viewing tower, and a ghost town. That leads us to another attraction...Indian Burial Graves. The skylift closed in the early 1990's due to safety concerns. The ride was meant to be reopened but it never was because it was built on the site of Native American Burial Grounds...

Exploring an Abandoned Aviation School - Parks Air College Urbex
Today we explore an abandoned Aviation College and we find old dorm rooms, some works of art, and some kind of strange maze that somebody built. Parks Air College was founded in 1927 by Oliver Parks. He was regarded as a pioneer in both pilot training and aviation studies. Parks started as the one and only flight instructor at the college with two instruction aircraft. During World War II he presented a plan to train military pilots. The plan was accepted and thousands were trained by parks during the war. In 1946, Oliver Parks sold the college to Saint Louis University (SLU).The campus closed down in 1996, and the school moved to its new location to St. Louis and training courses are still taught to this day.
