Mining for gold is not only physical work but also hard work for the backhoe with the rock hammer. Adrian constantly services and fixes our main digging tool while I keep on metal detecting for gold on the already dug out ground. Mining for Gold in hard cap rock is not an easy task. Our hopes were up for day two of working this mine site after we found close to half an ounce of gold on the first day of digging. There are agates everywhere on this flat, the only difficulty is to only pick up the nicer ones so that the bag doesn’t get too heavy. The storms brought the much needed water into this part of the Murchison, Western Australia and it's wonderful to see rain in draught affected areas.
