This is my experience moving my family's Minecraft server to Unraid. I came across a bizarre issue while I was recording this video that I had not seen before. Hey, fellow tech nerds! In today's video, I completely rebuilt my Unraid server called Quantum-Nas-1 with all-new PC hardware! I went with an Intel i5 13500, 2x32 (64GB) of DDR5 5600Mhz RAM and a Gigabyte Z790 Motherboard. This new system is replacing a Ryzen Threadripper 1950X that had 64GB of 2133Mhz ECC RAM. The performance uplift after the upgrade has been significant! And I am thoroughly impressed with the performance speed up my Unraid server has seen! Let's just say it was money well spent! Hello fellow Minecrafters! I have just announced my brand new Minecraft server called NateZoneSMP! It is a semi-anarchy server with only two rules. Don't slow down or crash the server, and don't harass, bully, or be demanding. Anything else is fair game and hacked clients and Xray are allowed. No cracked clients allowed. The server is currently on version 1.20 and will be getting every future Minecraft update in the future. We are running this server on a high-end Intel Core i7 (12th Gen) CPU with 10 Cores and 16 threads. The server also has 64 gigabytes of dedicated RAM and 2 terabytes of high-speed NVME PCIe Gen 4 Storage. The server is a dedicated computer that only runs NateZoneSMP and NOTHING else. I flew over 100,000 blocks in Minecraft 1.18 to see what the new terrain system is capable of generating. And I will say I love the new terrain so much better than 1.17 and below. I tried to run a Minecraft Server on a failing hard drive and things didn't turn out well in the end. The hard drive was a Hitachi drive from 2012 and it has seen a ton of usage over the last decade it had suffered a small physical trauma a couple years before this video. The results were shocking! I bought my next laptop for the next 5 to 7 years and it is an Acer Nitro 5 with an Intel i5 12450H CPU, Nvidia RTX 3050TI Mobile GPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, & I installed 2x 1TB NVME SSDs into the laptop. One is a Samsung 980 PRO 1TB Drive for the operating system & the other is a Western Digital Blue SN570 1TB Drive for Game Storage. I benchmarked Cinebench R23, Crystal Disk Mark, Unengine Heaven (On EXTREME Settings) & I showed how fast my CPU can render HEVC Video on Davinci Resolve 18.
