(Yet another) Regency Time in Rio
Ok ok, so then there was a regency (as mentioned in the last video) and then in time, D.Pedro II was fit to rule and become emperor. Right?
NOT QUITE.
Actually, the triple regency thing was sort of a fail and so it was substituted by a regency comprised and only one regent, and this is precisely what we're gonna talk about in this video; the regency of DIOGO ANTONIO FEIJÓ. (did I mention that he was also a priest?)

(Triple) Regency Time in Rio
Same as in Britain as well as I believe in other countries, in Brazil, in which a Monarchy ruled from 1822 to 1889 with Brazil already being an independent country (and I have already made a video about Brazil's independence and posted it here, we also has a regency era in Brazil. Though I think that out regency era was far less romantic and far more turbulent, especially when compared to Britain's regency era when all those wonderful romantic novels came to be.
And this video is precisely about how the regency was established in the first place, and composed by three regents at first.

It was not in 1500 or April 22nd (the TRUE DATE of Brazil's Discovery)
All I can say is that this video might make a lot of people go into existential crisis mode. And that is because this theme makes the official story of Brazil's discovery a load of complete and utter fake news. Sorry, there's no easy or polite way of saying this. So be sure to take your polite/politically correct gloves off because we're gonna unravel this very polemic bit of Brazilian History.

Abdicating in Rio
I think that after the previous videos about the history of Rio and Brazil, in which I have been saying over and over that a series of bad events led to the downfall of D.Pedro I and ultimately to a very final decision on his part, you pretty much saw this one coming.
The very final decision was, as the title suggests, to abdicate as emperor of Brazil in favour of his son, future emperor, D.Pedro II. And on this video I'll tell you precisely how all of this happened.
SPOILERALERT: Father and son didn't even get to properly say goodbye to each other and would never see each other again.

Parque Lage and it's many Love stories
Trully, while watching this video, you'll really get the feeling that LOVE IS IN THE AIR, because the place which I'll be showing you here really is the kind of place in which you feel that as soon as you get through the gates. And no wonder, because several love stories have happened and are still happening there, THE PARQUE LAGE.
Also an excellent place for taking pictures for various social medias and who knows, someone might see your picture and be so entranced that you get a date out of it. ;)

IT'S NOT ONLY CARNAVAL: The History of the Brazilian June Party
Every year tourists who decide to come to Rio (or even to Brazil in general) in the month of June (or even July and August in some cases), and are surprised to find that yes, there are parties at this time of year but they are not Carnaval parties and there isn't any sign of samba or anyting like it being played and danced at those parties. Instead, people are dancing quadrill and dressed as farmers.
I am of course talking about THE BRAZILIAN JUNE PARTY, which I will tell you all about in this very video!

V-E day Celebration in Rio in Honour of Brazilian World War II Veterans
Many people don't know this (I still don't understand why), but Brazil also participated in World War II by liberating the Italian front. Therefore, every year on May 8th, we also celebrate V-E day at the World War II memorial right here in Rio. And stay tuned because I will of course make videos about this in the future, which is only fitting because my grandpa himself was also part of the Brazilian Expeditionary force.

Breaking Glass in Rio
It's safe to say that the whole world knows about the infamous night of broken glass which happened in Germany in 1938, but did you know that the Brazil, and to be even more specific, the city of Rio, had it's own version of this nearly a century before in 1831?
Yes my friends, and in this video I'll tell you about exactly this, and as a matter a fact, here we actually had AN ENTIRE WEEK OF BROKEN GLASS.

Constituting in Rio
And continuing with videos about the history of Rio (and consequently Brazil since Rio was the capital of Brazil for 200+ years), after a country becomes independent, it's time to make the laws of this country, afterall, wouldn't make sense to be an independent country but still rely on Portuguese law.
So for this reason, I bring you this video explaining all about how the first (of many) Brazilian constitution was made. THERE WAS EVEN PHYSICAL AGGRESSION IN THE ASSEMBLY!

Becoming Independent in Rio
I don't know how many of you know this, especially since last year it was very much highlighted since it was the 200th anniversary of this Brazilian historic event, but once again (as happens every year) INDEPENDENCE DAY IS UPON US. It will be two days from now to be exact.
So what could be more appropriate then for me to bring you this video speaking about exactly how our independence from Portugal went down in 1822 and also to correct a few wrong assumptions that y'all might still have in this sense, such as that the history of Brazil (or any country for that matter) began with it's independence, ABSOLUTELY NOT!
And on this very video I'll also explain exactly how historically wrong it is to say such a ludicrous thing.
Also, as promised in the video, here is the link of another video I found right here on rumble with the actual anthem of Brazil's independence, enjoy:
https://rumble.com/vgfliz-brazilian-patriotic-song-hino-da-independncia-vocal.html
In case you want to the see the translation of said anthem, here it is:
Now you can, Motherland's children
See your gentle mother glad;
Now the freedom dawned
In Brazil's horizon.
Brave Brazilian people!
Let it go, the servant fear:
The homeland shall be free
Or we shall die for Brazil.
The chains that the cunning ruse
Of perfidy was forging to us...
There was a mightier hand:
Brazil deride them.
Brave Brazilian people!
Let it go, the servant fear:
The homeland shall be free
Or we shall die for Brazil.
Don't you fear the impious phalanxes
That show a hostile face;
Your chests, your arms
Are the walls of Brazil.
Brave Brazilian people!
Let it go, the servant fear:
The homeland shall be free
Or we shall die for Brazil.
Congratulations, oh Brazilian,
[For] now, with manly dignity,
Among the nations of the universe,
Brazilian one shines.
Brave Brazilian people!
Let it go, the servant fear:
The homeland shall be free
Or we shall die for Brazil.
