Nashville: Amanda Kate & Riley Braker
On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville edition, we are joined by singer/songwriter’s Amanda Kate and Riley Braker!
AMANDA KATE
Born in a no-stop-light-town in Red River, NM, Amanda Kate Ferris grew up equally inspired by her small-town upbringing and her mother, Kathy Wright, an artist and entertainer herself. As one of the original “Dean Martin Golddiggers” on the 1960’s TV show, 18-year-old Kathy often collaborated with The Rat Pack's crooners, embracing the era's glamour. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree, and young Amanda was singing as early as two years old. Inspired by her mother’s tales of performing on the stage and screen, she developed her own voice in the church. Amanda added songwriting to her repertoire at age 14, looking again to follow in her mother’s footsteps as a full-time musician and artist. During her mother’s long sets at Honky Tonks between California, New Mexico, and Texas, Amanda fell in love with the music of The Judds, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, Leanne Womack, and Brooks & Dunn, all of which heavily influenced her current sound.
Her love of Country music led her to chase her dreams in Nashville. Over the next few years, she went through multiple groups, opportunities, and countless hours spent on her craft in Music City. On the brink of letting these long sought-after dreams go, Amanda decided that she needed a change of pace and settled in with her family. After she and her husband welcomed their first child, Amanda was back on stage, this time performing Carrie Underwood songs in a national touring cover band, Blown Away. Their incredible renditions of Underwood’s hits led to an unsolicited and highly coveted spot on Executive Producer Jimmy Fallon’s new show for E!, “Clash of the Cover Bands.” Through Underwood’s iconic songs, Amanda was able to fulfill her love of entertaining and singing, but she felt a calling to again create her own original music.
The show was a full circle moment for Ferris, appearing on the same network that gave her mother her start over 50 years ago. Off-screen, this allowed Amanda the opportunity to highlight her new original music, simultaneously releasing her self-titled EP to rave reviews, including editorial placement on Spotify’s Texas Country Now, the largest Red Dirt Playlist. In early 2022, Ferris’ love for traditional Country sparked the interest of renowned producer Jimmy Ritchey (Clay Walker, Mark Chesnutt), with whom she recorded five new tracks reminiscent of the traditional country stylings of Ferris’ favorites from the 90s. Look out this fall for “Baby Don’t,” Ferris’ debut on Texas radio. “Baby Don’t” honors her Texas Country roots and showcases her captivating vocals. This lead single will be followed by an EP in early 2023 to reflect upon her western influences and love of Country music history. A cowgirl at heart, she spends any free time riding her horses with her family at Rockin R Ranch in Palmer, TX. On the road, Amanda has graced the stage with such acts as Tracey Lawrence, Bailey Zimmerman, Deana Carter, Warren Zeiders, Chase Rice, Priscilla Block, Casey Donahew, Josh Abbott Band, and more.
RILEY BRAKER
Riley is a gifted singer-songwriter, with a voice tailor made to tell her heartfelt stories of life as a young adult. She crafts her tales of love, woe, and regret, and infuses her characters with so much life, the listener feels as if they are experiencing the events first handy

Nashville: Cynthia Rausch
On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville edition, we are joined by county-gospel singer/songwriter Cynthia Rausch!
CYNTHIA RAUSCH
Cynthia definitely comes from a strong musical heritage.
Her parents met in a band in her dad’s home state of Texas. They fell in love and got married then continued to travel and perform together for several years after, before settling down in Dallas Texas and starting a family.
Cynthia's dad ended up joining the Navy right before Cynthia was born and served faithfully while his family moved from location to location in true military family style. Cynthia still remembers many trips to Wichita Falls to visit her MawMaw during that time.
After her dad left the military, her parents picked up their instruments again and started using their gifts in the local church where their family attended. Cynthia's parents continued adding to the family and eventually there were 8 children in all, with Cynthia being 3rd oldest.
At age 14 Cynthia went through a very dark time with her mental health and general overall health. She began struggling with addiction and suicidal tendencies and overdosed at the age of 15, but by the grace of God, she survived. Cynthia is unafraid to share her story of what God did that September night, in hopes of encouraging anyone else with depression and thoughts of suicide. "It is never the answer. You are just ridding the world of the joy of knowing the unique person God made you to be." Says Cynthia. "Please reach out to someone, getting help isn't weakness, it is the strongest and bravest thing you could ever do. And please don't fall for the lie that you aren't loved and valuable. You are. God loves you and so do I."
After that night, she found a sudden desire to start learning guitar and singing. Almost immediately after she started playing and singing, she started writing music and pretty soon she was writing the music for her developing family band.
Cynthia realized that playing music helped with her mental health and started advocating through her music for others struggling in the same way. Helping others struggling with depression and anxiety had become a focal point of her music. And she continues to focus on that to this day.
Around that same time, her siblings started learning to play instruments too, and pretty soon the whole family began to travel and play music for churches, city events and fairs. They traveled from Missouri to Texas and everywhere in between. During this time Cynthia’s gospel roots took on a more country flare and she embraced it.
After meeting her husband in 2010 and starting a family of her own, her family band disbanded, but Cynthia fondly recalls the many memories and joys of traveling with her family band. And she cherishes the lessons and values instilled in her life because of them.
With 20 years of writing and performing currently under her belt, her recently released 4 track EP is a clear representation of her heart for people and joy of music. This makes 30 songs she has recorded, with more on the way. All original music written by Cynthia.
With her 5th single "Abracadabra" currently out to radio, following her successful top 20 single "What The Whiskey Gave You", Cynthia is taking on the country music scene with joyful gusto. Her love of people and the power of music gives her a drive to bring hope to every listener and show them how much God loves them.
Cynthia has shared the stage with several amazing well-known names, including Logan Mize, 90's band Ricochet, Matt Stell, Jerrod Nieman and was nominated as "New Female Vocalist of the Year" in 2022 with the T3R awards. Even though she wasn't a finalist, she was honored to even be considered at all by her fans. She also had the honor of performing at the Sunday night "Future Faces Show" at Texas LIVE in Arlington, Tx prior to the Texas Regional Radio Awards show 2022.
As a mother and a wife, the choice to take her music farther hasn't been easy, but she enjoys the full support and love of her family, which includes her husband and sound guy, Wes and her son, Ethan. Ethan is also a budding musician and gets to join his mama onstage sometimes playing his harmonica. Cynthia looks forward to the future of music with her family, wherever the good Lord leads.

When it comes to writing slice of life songs and then singing them from the heart, Ashley Jordan is in a league of her own. She credits her late grandfather as “the light of her life” and it is clear that his influence as a country-folk singer/ songwriter is part of her DNA. By the time she was 16, Ashley was touring New England with her first album of original songs. Four albums later, Ashley Jordan is a seasoned live performer who has played to crowds as large as 40,000 opening for everyone from Trace Adkins to The Beach Boys, to Billboard Chart hit-maker Jimmie Allen, to the legendary Charlie Daniels Band. She has scored major market airplay, a first-round Grammy nomination, two unprecedented back-to-back Country Artist of the Year wins at the Boston Music Awards and was twice named a top 10 finalist on Nash Next, where she performed for Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Records, Kix Brooks and music legend Desmond Child. Nashville: Carlyle Griffin
On this episode we are joined by singer/songwriter Carlyle Griffin!
CARLYLE GRIFFIN
Rising soulful artist Carlyle Griffin shares some of her personal feelings on navigating love and life in her latest single Say So. It is now available on all streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
With two successful singles under her belt and a determination to create authentic music, Carlyle Griffin is establishing herself as one to watch in Music City. Her new single, Say So, journeys to answer the question, “What am I supposed to be doing with my life right now?” The writing process came naturally after the first few lines came to her while on vacation. “I was trying to determine what to do about my career, coming out of a short relationship that left me with a lot more questions than answers, and feeling really overwhelmed by the weight of all the responsibilities I’d garnered over the previous year,” Carlyle shares. “It was a way to try and take all of that off my shoulders and turn it into something that excited me rather than worried me.”
Produced by Joel Jorgensen, Say So is a perfectly stylistic tune that displays her musicality and diverse vocals. Getting the groove right is an important part of the process for her and her goal is for the listeners to feel good and be comforted knowing they aren’t the only ones who’ve felt this way before. “I want my fans to connect to the song in all aspects.” With Carlyle’s strong, lyrical vocals in the forefront and embellished horns that hit during the most powerful moments, she showcases her talent, proving that she is making her own way with a beautiful blend of genres and styles that transcends.
Follow Carlyle Griffin on her website as well as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
About Carlyle Griffin: The soulful ingenuity of Nashville-based singer/songwriter Carlyle Griffin can be partially attributed to her upbringing and music exposure from an early age. Growing up on the Carolina coast, Carlyle was introduced to many different genres of music - the sounds of Motown, the emotional lyrics of 70's folk rock, the dramatics of Broadway soundtracks - all of which bleed into her personal creations today.
As she continued to delve into her own sound, she was led to land in the bustling Music City. Shortly after moving to Nashville in the Fall of 2021, Carlyle released her first single Symptomatic Daydream, a wistful tune about all the things you wish you could say but just can't seem to. The song was premiered on Raised Rowdy and won 2022’s Folk/Americana Single of The Year at the Josie Music Awards. Her sophomore release, Crash Down on Me, premiered on RadioSobro and showcased her "stop-you-in-your-tracks" soulful voice. With the release of Say So, Carlyle is continuing to pave her own unique path for creativity and form a connection with listeners through her thoughtful lyrics and exceptional musicality.

Nashville: Kentucky Music Mafia
On this episode we are joined by country music artist, Kentucky Music Mafia!
KENTUCKY MUSIC MAFIA
In 2018 Shannon J & Toby Ray got together and started making the first sounds of what would become “ Kentucuy Music Mafia” , a whole different kind of country style music. In early 2021 they met and added to the group Roy Caudill . These three have really been doing it up the past year.
The trio took 2022 Group of the year at The Josie Awards , held at Grand Ole Opry . Their chart topping 2022 hit “Hank And The Drinkin” quickly became a fan favorite and helped this duo finally get the recognition they well deserve.
KNM brings a whole different kinda country style to the music world which they call “ Outlaw Mountain Music”
They do it their way and the music is a mix of country, bluegrass, rock, r&b and hip hop all in one. These guys put everything into the music they put out and truly believe in everything they record for their fans.
