Scarborough Walrus - Thor The Walrus Heads To Blyth After Scarborough Yorkshire Coast Wildlife
Jan 2nd 2023. Thor The Walrus has now been spotted in Blyth on The Northumberland Coast of England.
New Years Walrus - Thor Visits Scarborough.
Thor The Walrus At Scarborough, Yorkshire Coast Wildlife
A huge Wandering Walrus named Thor has found himself thousands of miles from his usual home in The Artic Circle.
Word on The Grapevine suggests he has been on quite a tour swimming from The English Channel, up to Norway and Back to Scarborough in the past few weeks.
The Walrus caused one hell of a fuss in Scarborough which saw Marine Wildlife volunteers getting hot under the collar as they were unable to deal with onlookers, resulting in the local constabulary becoming involved with a reel of blue tape and use of The Human Rights Act (Apparently).

Rough Sea At Whitby North Yorkshire
Rough Sea At Whitby - The video was filmed in November 2022. As a resident of Whitby with over 50 years knowledge of The Sea and the dangers it presents, I wholeheartedly believe the children in this video were at risk of drowning in a very very cold harbour where The North Sea meets The River Esk.
On the day in question the river was in full flood with torrential rain still falling. This alone would have taken the rivers temperature down to a very low level, certainly enough to induce hypothermia for anyone spending any time in the water.
Further to that, the strong flow of the river under flood conditions, coupled with unpredictable waves coming down the harbour at differing time intervals it would have been very easy for a child to get knocked off their feet.
It is my belief that on the day in question, all the children in this video were put at risk from hypothermia or drowning.
As a life long shore angler, kayaker, boat angler, coastal walker, shoreline photographer, from a coastal family with centuries of experience of The North Sea and with strong ties to the sea, I am certain in my mind these children were in severe danger on this day.
Bradford Council (Landlocked) have suggested that the children were at no time at any risk and are doing their best to have this video removed from the internet, and have tried to cast me as the villain of the day for recording the events and publishing them for the eyes of the general public.
With this in mind I removed the video from You Tube who are renowned for censorship and Im posting it here in the hope it will be allowed to exist on the internet for people to see the dangers that your children could be put at when you send them on school trips.
