Life as a Fighter (With UFC LEGEND Jim Miller)
Most men have never been in a fight in their life (or, at most, a handful). So, what does it take to enter the Octogon and make a 16-year career (and counting) of administering and receiving the brunt end of physical violence. It’s something my guest today, UFC legend, Jim Miller, has done. And, he’s brought us so many incredible moments in the world of professional MMA.
Today, Jim and I talk about what it takes to fight for a living and why he believes he was built to fight. We cover some of the highs and lows of his career including his debilitating battle with Lyme disease and his recovery, how he shapes his training atmosphere for maximum results, how to win and lose with class and grace, ensuring he never puts himself into the victim role, and his immense respect for men who step into the cage with him.

OJ Simpson, Faith in Your Course of Action, and Taking on Other People’s Issues
In this week's ASK ME ANYTHING, the news of OJ Simpson's passing hit the headlines, it set off a whirlwind of emotions and retrospection about the impact of celebrity and the justice system on society. This discussion is an unflinching look at how we remember those who've led tumultuous lives, and the struggle to honor the departed while acknowledging their controversial legacies. Kipp and Ryan delve into the societal expectations when it comes to paying tribute to such individuals, weighing the scales of public opinion against legal outcomes, and sharing personal reflections on the matter.
Stoicism offers a beacon in the fog when personal integrity seems at odds with external pressures. It's a philosophy that Kipp and Ryan summon while navigating the maze of life's decisions, from the verdicts handed down by juries to the practices of parenting amidst societal shifts. This episode is an open invitation to listeners to consider the influence of conscience over fear. We share stories from our own lives, from blending families to supporting friends through personal struggles, which illustrate the profound impact of our choices and actions in shaping our path to authenticity.

Adversity Introduces a Man to Himself (with Bedros Keuilian)
Most men live soft, sedated lifestyles. Then, they expect themselves to perform at the highest possible standard when life gets real. At best, they wonder why they can’t seem to get ahead in their personal and professional lives and, often, chalk it up to luck or poor external circumstances.
My guest today, Bedros Keuilian, makes the case that only in adversity is a man revealed to himself and why it’s so crucial every man learns to develop the mental fortitude required to succeed in life. We also discuss the how the work we do in private shows itself in public, how to avoid the destructive drift of life, where vulnerability fits into the equation with men, what one question every man is attempting to answer for himself, Bedros’ idea of the “Karmic Bank Account,” and why the “covenant of the blood is greater than the water of the womb.”

Are You Anxious, Avoidant, or Secure? (with Adam Lane Smith)
I’ve spent a lot of time over the past 18 months looking into the various attachment styles of men – anxious, avoidant, and secure. I think we all intuitively know that “secure” is the best place to be, but the question is, “How do we get there?” It’s especially difficult considering our engrained attachment style drives so much of our decision-making process – much of which is subconscious.
My guest today is licensed psychotherapist and attachment specialist, Adam Lane Smith. Today, Adam and I discuss building secure, sustainable relationships, why responsibility breeds security and why we subconsciously avoid it, how the chemicals, Oxytocin and Vasopressin, drive our emotional and problem-solving connections, and why every man needs to work on building his “male solution network.”

Get Over What Others Think of You (with Michael Gervais)
Fear keeps most men from pursuing meaningful and fulfilling opportunities in life – whether romantic, a business start-up, having a hard conversation, asking for a promotion or the sale, etc. But it really isn’t what we think it is – the fear of failure. More often than not, it’s the fear of what others may think about us that keeps us from going after what we desire.
My guest is Dr. Michael Gervais, a psychologist who studies mastery and what keeps us from obtaining it. In fact, he has worked with Super Bowl Champions, Olympic Gold Medalists, and some of the most elite performers in the world. Today, we discuss FOPO (fear of people’s opinions), the first rule of mastery, why we care so much about what others think, how we over-index approval as a necessary part of tribe building, and the dangers in being a one-dimensional man.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
* What keeps us from obtaining mastery
* Fear of people’s opinions
* The first rule of mastery
* Why we care so much about what others think
* The dangers in being a one dimensional man
* Single focused mindfulness and contemplative mindfulness

Why Delusionally Passionate Men Win with Bert Sorin
Passion and delusion aren’t two terms we often think of working in harmony but my good friend and guest today, Bert Sorin, makes the case that some of the most successful people in the world are not only the most passionate but often believe (with no valid reason to) that they have what it takes to succeed.
Today, we talk about the ebbs and flows of life and improving the average between the two points, creating intentionality behind our actions, why EQ is oftentimes more important than IQ, holding back in life when we shouldn’t, and so much more.

Achieve the Impossible (with NASA Astronaut Mike Massimino
Life is full of hard-learned lessons. We all know that. But it’s been said that, “A smart man learns from his mistakes, a wise man learns from the mistakes of others.” That’s why this podcast is so powerful – because we get to hear from incredible men doing incredible things who can teach us things that would be painful, delayed, and expensive to find out ourselves.
And, I can think of few men as qualified to do so as former NASA Astronaut, Mike Massimino.
Today, Mike and I talk about some of his best lessons learned in the NASA program and in space including, “no one leaves the pool until everyone passes the test,” learning to adjust to life and your goals along the way, what was different about NASA astronaut candidates that made them successful, knowing when to pivot and break a few rules, and how to achieve the seemingly impossible.
