Some snapshots taken from Ilwaco, WA, across the Columbia River and on to Cape Meares in Oregon. Of special historical interest perhaps is Fort Canby near Ilwaco. There were two additional forts built to protect the mouth of the Columbia river during war time... Fort Columbia and Fort Stevens. Took some photos on another trip to the northern Puget Sound area, Fidalgo and San Juan Islands in 2012.... here are a handful of them. Photos included are from locations like Friday Harbor, the historical American Camp National Park and English Camp, and Seafarers Memorial Park in Anacortes, WA. This is a slideshow of some older logging photos from back in the day. Logging goes back in my families history several generations, back to logging camps, axes, crosscuts and skidding with draft horses and mules, however, there were apparently few photos ever taken. If additional photos are discovered maybe an updated extended version is possible or who knows perhaps even a part 2 will be in order. For now these are from the last 40 to 45 years. Have always been fascinated by tug boats and fishing boats. If given the opportunity hours can be spent wandering around docks, piers and marinas looking at and taking photos of these boats. These photos happen to be taken at Fisherman's Terminal in Seattle Washington around April of 2009.
