First Texas, then New York, and now sanctuary state Massachusetts is reaching the bursting point of illegal migrants. “Massachusetts is reaching the breaking point with its feel-good sanctuary laws. The Boston Herald ran a story last week headlined, “Maura Healey ‘distressed’ by migrants displacing veterans for Army-Navy game, but won’t provide specifics on migrant housing plan.” Governor Healey is not the only one who’s distressed. Massachusetts is running out of hotel rooms for regular citizens. Last week, veterans with long outstanding hotel reservations were shocked to discover their reservations canceled right before the Army-Navy game, since hotels had dumped them to grab the much more lucrative government largesse that is funding sleeping quarters, room service, and housekeeping for all the military-aged foreign men lacking any documentation. It’s getting so bad that, in a clip making the rounds this week, Massachusetts officials called for volunteers to move illegal migrants into their homes: “If you have an extra room or suite in your home, please consider hosting a family. Become a sponsor family. If you’re a landlord or property owner, we can work with you to transition families into permanent housing.” If some of the aliens are terrorists, and Massachusetts homeowners are “sponsoring” them, does that make them “sponsors of terrorism?” Just asking. "Once again corporate media completely ignored yesterday’s biggest story, instead doing its level best to smother it by rapidly pushing out explosive fake news stories, assisted by the DoJ, which is currently trying to indict everybody it can, including most famously President Trump. The story was, in an electrifying floor address yesterday, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley dramatically informed Congress that the document the FBI has been diligently concealing reported that its confidential source has SEVENTEEN recordings of bribery phone calls between the Burisma executive and Joe and Hunter Biden. Grassley wondered why nobody followed up, say, to try and get ahold of those recordings, or even mention them to anybody? In his statement, Grassley pointed out it’s not like the FBI has been shy about presidential audio recordings: "It’s clear that the Justice Department and FBI will use every resource to investigate candidate Trump, President Trump and former President Trump [and] it’s clear that the Justice Department, the FBI, haven’t nearly had the same laser-focus on the Biden family. Special counsel Jack Smith has used a recording against former president Trump. Well, what is US Attorney Weiss doing with respect to these alleged Joe and Hunter Biden recordings that are apparently relevant to the high-stakes bribery scheme?" Grassley revealed that, even after the FBI agreed to show the Oversight Committee a copy of its Biden Bribery form, all references on the form to the recordings were redacted. In other words, the FBI literally covered up the recordings’ existence — even though the document had already been unclassified. This leads me to think about the Christ's Ascension and how he showed us our future, a future where God will take us both body and soul to be with him. I share some writings from Gus Lloyd's 60 Second Reflection from this past week. "Pope Benedict writes, “The meaning of Christ’s Ascension expresses our belief that in Christ the humanity that we all share has entered into the inner life of God in a new and hitherto unheard of way. It means that man has found an everlasting place in God…we go to heaven to the extent that we go to Jesus Christ and enter into him.” In essence, Christ’s bodily ascension is the model for our spiritual ascension. The Ascension also opened the door to the Holy Spirit’s coming. Remember, in John 16:7 Jesus said, “For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.” You see, Jesus could have stayed and ruled forever on the earth. But that was not the Father’s plan. The sending of the Holy Spirit was the fulfillment of God’s plan. And not just some old blueprint stuffed away in some file cabinet. But God’s plan for your life. Jesus told his disciples to rejoice that He was going. And so today should be a day of rejoicing for us. So rejoice! Jesus has taken His place at the right hand of the Father! Father, we thank you for the Ascension of our Lord, who now sits at your right hand. Let us rejoice, knowing that the time will come when we, too, will join Him with You in heaven. The post-debate panel included the youthful and spirited Florida Representative Byron Donalds, who turned in a strong performance, taking all comers in a six-against-one rhetorical pile-on. Byron’s muscular performance might have earned him the vice-presidential nomination. "The New York Post ran a story Tuesday headlined, “Six More Bidens May Have Gained From Family Business Schemes: Comer.” Yes, but did they pay taxes on the influence cash? House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer told reporters Monday that the Committee has received and reviewed thousand of pages of documents relating to alleged Biden influence peddling, including several banks’ “suspicious activity reports” received from the Treasury Department. Senator Comer explained, “The Biden family enterprise is centered on Joe Biden’s political career and connections, and it has generated an exorbitant amount of money for the Biden family. We’ve identified six additional members of Joe Biden’s family who may have benefited from the Biden family’s businesses that we are investigating, bringing the total number of those involved or benefiting to nine.” It’s the Biden Bunch! The additional Biden capos have not yet been identified. You may recall that last month, Comer announced the committee had evidence that at least three Biden family members and two associates received payments originating from China in 2017, less than two months after Joe Biden left office as vice president. Records showed Hunter got $610,000, James Biden got $360,000, and Hallie Biden got $25,000 in “seed capital” provided by a Chinese government-affiliated corporation. What grew out of that seed capital? How much was for the Big Guy? Committee member Nancy Mace (R-SC), described the amount of money involved in the latest investigation as “astronomical,” and hinted that the Biden family interests included “prostitution rings:” Well, this is shocking. How could this have happened, and so forth. None of it would’ve happened absent the Republicans retaking the House last November. For years, Democrats have blocked any efforts to investigate Biden family influence peddling. As some folks have been pointing out, there’s a loophole. It is illegal to give government officials money, but it is not illegal to give the money to an official’s family members, even (apparently) if those family members are expressly offering access.
