This is my first set ever performed on the pioneer DDJ-FLX4 Dj controller. I have to say its pretty nice to use, after experimenting with it for a couple of days I decided to record this set. I'm still getting used to the layout after transitioning from Traktor and my other gear to Rekordbox and this controller, but it feels very nice even for beginner kit, and they have nailed the feeling of the CDJ's pretty well. I can now also have 4 decks with the old gear and this controller so watch out for a video with that setup in the future! So this week I discovered an app called Volta xr, and immediately fell in love with what can be done with it. Being able to combine 3 things I love music, Djing and 3d design & visualization, and then being able to combine them all in realtime with animated effects = my tiny mind blown 🤯 at whats possible and what could be! What about you guys? This video is the result of my first few days with the software, going to spend some more time in the lab figuring this thing out and seeing what ideas I can come up with for other themed sets, post in the comments what you would like to see! If this channel ever reaches 100 subs I will make a video tutorial or something on how to do this. 23/100 at time of publishing. I was asked to perform my Digital Mycelium set for the boltoberfest Halloween build party. The party was held in a sick looking virtual reality nightclub space built inside of neosvr and the Dj's mixes where showcased on huge screens, sweet effects were built into the space like the lighting reacting to the footage streamed in on the screens. There will be a video of some of the party highlights and this cool effect with my set because it looked nuts with the colourful VJ stuff I threw together for this video. You can find the alt hardware mixed demo version of this set on my mixcloud page, links in bio! I dont think these spaces are ready for real partys yet due to technical limitations, plus other quirks and niggles, but they work great as a learning or networking tool.
