Mega Lion Pride Blocking the road in the Kruger National park
The Sweni pride with an early morning road block in the Kruger National park South Africa
The Sweni pride over the years has been an extremely successful pride in the Kruger National park. Under the protection of the 3 pride males that took over last year they are thriving. The Sweni lion pride is roughly around 20 members strong all consisting of different ages. The Sweni pride can be found along parts of the S126, H1-3 and occasionally western parts of the H6. On this morning we found them along the H1-3 in the company of 2 of the 3 pride males while the third male was on the S126.

LIREBIRD, a bird that can imitate a thousand sounds
Lyrebird is a type of Australian bird that comes from the Menuridae family. The Lyrebird is very famous for its ability to imitate various types of sounds that exist in nature and are made by humans. When entering the mating period from June to August, Lyrebird can 'sing' for up to 4 hours more. Uniquely, the singing of the Lyrebird is a combination of at least 7 types of sounds. Some sounds that Lyrebird often imitates are koalas, coyotes. In fact, as a result of the movement of human settlements that have begun to approach the Lyrebird's habitat, now the birds can imitate the sounds of chainsaws, cars, fire sirens, rifles, camera shutters, humans, even crying babies! The Lyrebird's formidable abilities also continued to grow and spread when one Lyrebird heard the strange sound combinations from Lyrebirds and other bird species. "This bird (Lyrebird) is capable of imitating the sounds of up to 20 more species of other birds," said a biologist, David Attenborough. Until now the Lyrebird is still not categorized as an endangered animal even though its population continues to decline. This Australian endemic bird is often hunted by humans not only because of its ability to imitate its voice, but also because of its beautiful tail feathers. At first glance, an adult male Lyrebird looks like a peacock with a beautiful tail. The difference is, the color of the Lyrebird is more dominated by brown, black, gray and white.

Papuan bird of paradise | Indonesia
People in Papua often use bird of paradise feathers in their clothing and customs, and several centuries ago bird of paradise feathers were used as the basis for making women's hats in Europe. Hunting for feathers and habitat destruction has reduced the numbers of some species to threatened levels; Habitat destruction due to deforestation is now a major threat.
The hunting of birds of paradise for their feathers for the hat trade was rife in the late 19th and early 20th centuries (Cribb 1997), but today the birds are protected and hunting is permitted only for ceremonial purposes by local tribes.

Which of you has a pet? Surely you have one too, right? Pets such as cats, dogs, birds, turtles, and others, of course, will be close and considered friends by their own employers. In fact, not infrequently, these pets are also considered family.
However, friendship between humans and animals, not only with pets. There are also humans who are friends with wild animals. Even though it sounds terrible, it turns out that these wild animals seem to obey their human friends.
