My 30th BJJ Session | Finding The Right Gym & Dynamic Warmup (ft Carlos Santos)
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has become my favourite part of training every week, and there are many benefits both physical and mental which I will go into on my channel in the months and years to come.
My journey started out negatively however. In this video I explain the initial attempt to start in 2018 where I got injured almost straight away. After 4 years and a bit of research, I found the right gym, Elevate Martial Arts & Strength in Richmond, Surrey, UK.
This is the first of a 5 videos about my 30th Session of BJJ. In this video I am training with Carlos Santos, a Roger Gracie Academy Black Belt and previously an EU BJJ Champion. Carlos has since left Elevate and setup his own private business. I cannot recommend both Elevate and Carlos enough as they have both massively improved my life, please see links to both below.

SS1P Matrix Program | Function, Nutrition, Behaviour, Strength, Calisthenics, Sports
I developed a program concept called the SS1 Performance Matrix. You can see the 6-point connected system in the logo. In this video I explain how I will be filling out the program using a hypothetical client, and I go into some of the reasoning behind my advice and strategy.
The SS1P Matrix is my way of showing on a single page, all aspects of someone's performance level, plus the short, medium and long term targets as well. It is constructed and shaped based on my philosophy, whereby all areas of performance link to all others. E.g. psych/behaviour/awareness links to strength, and strength links to nutrition, and nutrition links to psych/behaviour and strength etc.
As explained in my intro video, this channel is about creating innovative steps, and I believe that structuring fitness programs in a different (possibly superior) way can and should be considered as something worth innovating. I plan to roll out this program structure in 2023, once I obtain further feedback in the coming weeks and months.

Permanent Change Model for Personal Training (Part 2)
After 7-8 years of personal training, I realised that I wanted to make permanent changes to the bodies and minds of my clients. This required additional insight into their internal drivers and how they viewed the training process with me. Now after 10 years as a PT, I produced an explanation of this philosophy. I explain each phase for a fat loss, muscle gain and function client across 2 videos. This is Part 2.
Regarding the note on less than 20% body fat causing me to guide a muscle gain client towards strength and fat loss in phase 1, that just applies to male clients. In my career so far I have only trained female clients for hypertrophy (glutes/thighs) in phase 3 as that has only been a concern at that stage. I have a safety target of less than 25% body fat for fat-loss-goal females and I tend to stop phase 1 fat loss programs once they reach between 18%-22% depending on body type and level of accumulated physical and mental fatigue from the program.
