This week marks a significant achievement in our ArkPad-C project. Finally, we have successfully completed the casting of our final spar and finished welding our floater rings which will provide most of the buoyancy to the seastead. Aside from other essential tasks that are important in building and assembling our floating structure, we have also been busy preparing our launch site. Currently, we are building a lightweight and buoyant bamboo scaffolding which we will use in connecting and facilitating the transportation of the ArkPad to its home – the ocean. This development signifies both progress and dedication to the successful execution of the ArkPad project. After months of relentless development We are finally ready to show the world our new DeFi platform designed to push forward the Seasteading movement! Alongside this primary project, we are in the final stages of blueprint preparation for our Hexafarm. Construction Update This week, we have successfully completed our first of 5 spars for the ArkPad-C. With our innovative seasteading cement formula, the concrete spar underwent the curing process without experiencing significant cracks or damage. Additionally, the welding process for our floater ring is nearing completion. This crucial component will contribute the majority of the buoyancy required for our ArkPad. To ensure safety, the floater ring will be filled with foam blocks, so if it were to spring a leak in the future their would be no way to flood the buoyancy chambers. Our Hexafarm will be built in large part from renewable materials like bamboo. By incorporating walkway segments, it will be able to bend over the tops of large waves without sustaining any damage. As a result, we can confidently deploy the Hexafarm at greater distances from the coastline, surpassing the capabilities of conventional fish cages. ArkPad Construction Update Our construction site in Boracay, Philippines is now ready for the actual construction of our ArkPad-C! We have obtained all of our equipment, and about half of our needed materials. In a few weeks, we can finally begin building our floating restaurant! This video gives a brief overview of how we will build the Spar of our ArkPad-C. Spars are the thing that holds everything else out of the water. In order to make it, a very large steel formwork will be used where we will put all our floatation materials and pour our Seasteading Cement. Once all the pouring is done, it will be cured for 7 days. After 7 days, it will be subject to additional curing outside the formworks and then be available for use. After a lot of remodeling and engineering of our ArkPad, we are finally in the process of building our prototype floating house in Boracay, Philippines! Boracay is located in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines and is famous for its beautiful beaches and considered as one of the most popular tropical tourist destination in the world. The coastal property for construction of the prototype has been developed and is now ready to be used. Floating Cities Human habitation has always been limited to land. This is no longer the case. This week, we will talk about Tensegrity. Tensile integrity or floating compression describes a system of isolated, compressed components within a network of chords that are under tension. For ArkPad, we believe that this principle can allow the seasteads to connect together, which may benefit the future of floating communities. For our floating structure, we will use Tensegrity to connect ArkPads together while still allowing the city structure to bend and flex, on the other hand the tensegrity arms will also act as shock absorber to disperse impacts from large waves or ship strikes. In the past week, we worked more on our Wooden Scaled Model. We improved how it looks and put it in another stress test wherein two individuals were on top of the platform, the result that we got was promising as the structure tended to move less than our previous simulation. We also put concrete blocks on one side of the platform to test how it will tilt, and as expected, the tilting was very minimal which is a good sign for ArkPad's stability. Lastly, on our previous test, we saw some twisting motions acting on the spars that we could negate with additional sway bracing, so we connected additional cables and saw a noticeable improvement. We have recently completed our wooden scaled model of the ArkPad-C. This model was used to simulate the assembly of our structure as well as stress test it by placing excessive weight on the platform.
