Third World countries could be independent of U.S. Foreign aid and begin to assert their sovereignty if they can get off of purchasing oil. There have been several attempts by a good number of countries to produce nuclear power but every time a nation wants to produce nuclear power either their leader gets murdered or the nation gets bombed. Nuclear energy generates electricity in cheap and abundant supplies.
